If your temporary crown broke and it doesn't hurt it may not be an emergency, however it doesn't hurt to make sure. In my office we encourage our patients to call us and leave a message on my emergency line if something breaks or falls off. Trying to repair it yourself or leaving it for an extended period of time can create problems when your final crown comes in to be delivered. Generally after speaking to you your dentist can determine whether or not it is something that can wait. Most dentists I know have an emergency service or take call themselves.
