I have large pores and some general uneven texture and dyschromia. I am 41and wear physical sunscreen for many years and stay out of the sun. I am considering resurfacing but every clinic I go to offers a different technology. It's so confusing and I know especially important to be knowledgable about the procedure and the expertise of the person doing it. Halo seems like a good option and I am leaning to that. I would love insight on what to ask, what to expect and anything I might be missing
Answer: Halo Is an Excellent Choice I applaud you for being diligent in learning as much as possible about your options and asking about the training of the person actually performing the procedure. Halo sounds like an excellent option for your needs. I use the Halo laser at my practice and believe it would be an ideal choice because it's designed for improving texture and reducing pore size. It is a hybrid laser that offers the best features of ablative and non-ablative methods and can be customized with precision. Good luck to you.

Answer: Smart Skin CO2 Laser Hello 5203anon,Thank you for your question and photo. In our our office we offer Smart Skin CO2 Laser made by Cynosure. This laser has been the most effective for our patients being that it can take about 10 years off of sun damage, fine lines, and wrinkles. It also re-textures the skin and minimizes pore size. This laser can be tailored to your amount of downtime as well. In my practice we advise patients to pre-treat their skin with a few products being that the results and recovery have been more effective in using Retin-A and Hydroquinone prior to the laser. Feel free to visit our website for furture information regarding this particular laser. I hope this was helpful, good luck.Kindly,Dr. Kouros Azar

Answer: Video explains all the options you have for pore treatments and dyschromia Bottom line- everyone is different in their expectations and downtime. Treatments like eMatrix, Picosure FOCUS, micro needling with or without PRP, fractional lasers like Fraxel DUAL 1927, 1550, and of course fully ablative lasers can all work. You really need to see someone for a face to face consult, so your expectations can be met. Additionally we have to take into consideration your downtime, and your skin type to tailor a treatment for your texture, dyschromia and large pores. Solutions always possible All the bestDr Davin LimAesthetic and Laser DermatologistBrisbane, Australia.
