I have no problem doing these procedures on the same day, however if you do them separately you may want to wait 1-2 weeks before proceeding with one versus the other. Best, Dr. Emer.
IPL or any laser or light based device should be safe 2 days or more after micro-needling. As long as the device used is clean and good technique is used there should be no problem following micro-needling.
Hello - Many times, procedures are done in combination or one procedure is followed by another. It is always best to 1. review your pre-procedure and post-procedure instructions and 2. to ask your treating practitioner to clarify. In my practice, we often will do IPL soon after micro-needling and a week after would not be unusual. The micro-channels created in micro-needling tend to close very quickly and we expect our patients to be recovered in 24 to 48 hours. IPL is usually done for brown pigment/spots and redness/visible skin capillaries, whereas micro-needling is done for skin texture/scars/fine lines. Both treatments usually involve an initial series of treatments for best outcome. Hope you get the skin results you desire.
You should be able to safely have an IPL photofacial treatment as soon as your skin is healed from the microneedling. Typically, the skin heals within three days following an aggressive microneedling session with 2.5 mm needles. Best of luck,Suneel Chilukuri, M.D.Houston, TX
Without photos, I can only answer in the most general of terms. Volumizing the cheeks can certainly help to restore the more inverted triangular appearance of the youthful face. And secondarily, the lift provided to the cheeks can lessen smile line folds and even to sometimes a substantial...
Hi TTT. It's unlikely that anything would happen to your injection results if you had an IPL since injection products are typically placed much deeper than the IPL can penetrate. On another note, although I PL can help with a number of conditions, it is not a laser and this has less...
Jelly-A one-time blast type of laser treatment usually does not work and may even risk worsening the mottled red and brown discoloration of Poikiloderma. For this skin condition, I recommend a series of 3-5 BBL (Broadband Light) treatments spaced at 3 week intervals.Good luck!
Thank you for your question in regards to IPL.It is important to avoid direct sunlight two weeks before and after IPL treatments. Using a SPF that blocks UVA & UVA rays with a high Zinc level is also important. Continue to reapply your sunscreen and wear a hat to avoid direct sun exposure. To be...
