Will my nose be a different shape once the splint is removed?

I just had a rhinoplasty a few days ago, so I haven't had the splint removed yet. I can tell it's swollen and I know it's very early in the healing process, but I'm really nervous because it currently looks very pointy... I had a boxy/button nose that I wanted narrowed, but I wanted to leave the same general shape of my nose. Is the nose just being held in that position by the splint, or is it going to have a pointy shape as the end result?

You may certainly see a difference, however, this is to be expected after surgery.  In my experience, it can take from 6-12 months to completely heal after a surgical procedure.  Be patient and keep in touch with your surgeon to discuss any future concerns.

You may see an immediate change in the profile of your nose but the entire nose is likely to be swollen for several weeks to months.  Be patient and you will notice the changes.

What the nose looks like immediately after splint removal is not what it will look like in a week or in a year. The swelling has to subside and improve with time. Be patient.
