Can laser hair removal damage lips?

I recently had laser hair removal done on my face and it was very close to the lips, going a little over them. Would the laser cause any damage to them? As far as the plumpness or pigmentation of the lips goes? I have no fillers. I didn't notice any difference, I don't see any burn marks. Just a minor concern in the back of my mind
