Thank you for your question in regards to laser tattoo removal. Achieving complete removal is possible, although patience is key. Four weeks between sessions is the soonest you can be treated due to the time its takes our bodies to break down the ink. Having treatments sooner will not be beneficial or result in faster removal. To be sure what is best for you, see two or more board-certified providers in your area for a complete evaluation to make sure you are a good candidate and that it is safe for you to have treatment. I hope this helps.
Tattoos should be removed with q switched or pico lasers. It will take a series of treatments for removal, but it's difficult to determine how many sessions you'll need. I recommend allowing 4-6 weeks in between treatments. This allows appropriate reabsorption of pigment and healing of any skin changes that occurred. I recommend getting a formal evaluation with a laser tattoo removal expert. Best, Dr. Emer
This needs a 1064 wavelength laser with both pico and nano second pulse durations. Wait about 6 weeks between treatments. Number of treatments is hard to say but you can't be too aggressive with your skin type. I have the Piqo4 which is good for this tattoo.
Great question. Technology has improved dramatically since you first had treatment. We have had so much more efficient ink removal with our latest Cutera Enlighten PicoGenesis laser. Older lasers took more treatments. We now give a range of 4-6 treatments (instead on 6-13) which varies on the amount of ink, complexity, colors and your body's ability to pull the ink. WE do no recommend treating less than every 8 weeks with the new technology to allow the skin to completely heal. If the skin is over treated it can thicken and make it more difficult for the laser to penetrate. It is black which treats the fastest.
Hello, Thank you for your question. The way a laser rids the skin of unwanted ink is, it shatters the ink into tiny particles and your body absorbs those particles. Everything with lasers in "color" related, meaning different wavelengths are used to treat different colors of ink. The re...
I’m sorry for your distress. The PicoWay laser uses extremely short bursts of high-powered energy to shatter the pigment in tattoos. Because it doesn’t create much heat, it should not change the color of the tattoo. It can be adjusted to target only the blue cosmetic tattoo, without aff...
I would see a plastic surgeon (preferably one who also does laser tattoo removal - NOT tatt2-away.) They may be able to provide options, for you. I bet you have more "hope" than you think. I hope that helps :)
