RF and Graves/Hyperthyroid

Can patients with active form of or a history of Graves disease receive RF procedures? I have heard mixed opinions ranging from "it is okay as long as you stay away from the thyroid" to "you should not have this treatment as it could stimulate the thyroid" [no matter where the RF is applied]. Docs, would you care to chime in? Safe or Unsafe? Thank you.
