Tooth fracture - should I see a prosthodontist or cosmetic dentist?

Question

Horizontal fracture on upper front tooth from trauma 5 days ago. Other front tooth has root canal. Have veneers and told its only a matter of time before crown or implant needed. Will get all 8 veneers replaced. Best to see prospdontist or reputable cosmetic dentist? Do I continue to wear night guard to lessen damage and tighten up teeth or take a break from night guard?

Any of them will have the knowledge of how to treat a dental emergency, because a trauma event is present, I would recommend x-rays first, and vitality testing, also transillumination is a useful method to see the direction of the fracture. Depending on the results is the action to take. If the fracture does not involve the pulp and is only in the enamel and there are no radiographic changes, dental bonding is a good option, but if the tooth does not respond to the vitality test I would recommend seeing if a root canal is necessary first, because necrosis may have occurred and the tooth may be asymptomatic.
