Looking at my acne scars, how many VI peels would it take to see a difference?
Answer: VI Peels for all skin types VI Peels are excellent for a multitude of skin issues such as: All Fitzpatrick skin types (1-6) Patients with hyperpigmentation (including Melasma) Acne patients as young as 12-13 years old Patients with mild to moderate Rosacea Adults seeking skin rejuvenation on the face or body Adults wishing to maintain skin health and prevent the signs of aging In addition there are different types of VI Peels that can be tailored to the unique needs of your skin. I would recommend a personalized consultation with a certified practioner. At our practice I would suggest two to three VI Peels spaced four to six weeks apart depending on how fast your skin recovers. It would do a beautiful job evening out your skin tone as well as the texture, tone and tightness of your pores. Reducing your acne is key as well as vigilant use of mineral based sunscreen. If coarse dark hair is an issue, I would also recommend laser hair removal to reduce the amount of ingrown hairs and oil caught in the follicle which can aggravate acne. At our practice our licensed medical aesthetician and certified laser technician is also a certified health coach who helps our patients learn more about holistic methods of healing and assists with their acne.

Answer: ViPeel for Skin Rejuvenation ViPeel chemical peels are an excellent method of skin rejuvenation that is safe and effective for all skin types. There are currently a few different versions of the peel that vary in strength and ingredients: the original formula contains a combination of TCA, Retin-A, salicylic acid, phenol, and Vitamin C; the Precision peel contains a booster that makes it 25% stronger. The third version, ViPeel Preicision Plus contains hydroquinone, a prescription strength pigment inhibitor, in addition to the already stronger formula of the Precision peel. ViPeel treatments can be repeated every 3-4 weeks, depending on the healing time of each patient. Looking at your photos, I would recommend a series of at least three Precision Plus peels to best improve the pigmentation. During the first couple of weeks, be very diligent about avoiding prolonged sun exposure, wear sunblock, and avoid picking/scrubbing of your skin. Consult with a board certified Dermatologist for any other questions or concerns. Best of luck!
