How often should I massage lower brows after endoscopic brow lift?

I have been told that it is possible through massage to lower the brows after a browlift. I am 6 weeks post op. What is the frequency and duration that is needed if this is to help?

Most surgeons will recommend massage 2-3 times daily and not just the lower brows but above the brow and forehead as well. Discuss how to do this with your surgeon. Brows can descend on their own over time as well.

The purpose of massaging after a procedure is to soften the
scars or to help repositioning the tissues. These two variables will be
responsible for the amount and frequency of the massaging. usually 2-3 times a day will do until the desire effect is achieved.

Finally, make sure that your doctor is
aware of your process. He should be able to guide you best in your care.

Hamla,Most surgeons recommend massaging for 10 to 15 minutes three times a day but you can do this more often if you would like. This helps reduce swelling, speeds recovery, and helps prevent the nerves from getting hypersensitive during regeneration during the first 3 to 6 months after surgery.  You want to perform massage in a gentle small circular pattern or massage from the eyebrows toward the hairline.  Be careful not to pull downward.  Everyone has their own magical cream or oil but frankly it does not matter what moisturizer you are using as much as the actual massage.  I hope this helps.Regards,Dr. Denis Gonyon

Massaging the forehead and brows following a brow lift can help soften scars and stimulate nerve regeneration and desensitization.  I usually advise my patient to massage the area 2 to 3 time per day, with a moisturizer, for the first 3 to 6 months following the procedure.
