In my opinion, you should be evaluated by a hair loss expert. You need to confirm that your recurrent hair loss is in due to weight loss. They will perform at a good history, magnified exam and possibly blood work. If your hair loss is due to recurrent telogen effluvium, minoxidil will cause the hair to cycle into an antigen phase and speed up recovery. Hope this helps. Good luck.

Minoxidil will almost always be beneficial to hair growth. What catches my attention is your reoccurring problem with weight gain gain and loss. This "yo yo ing" is a sign of a more serious condition that needs to be corrected, not only for your hair but more importantly for your over all health. I urge you to contact your primary care doctor sooner rather than later. This is important.
