All four of my wisdom teeth emerged in good position. Due to an infection, my upper right wisdom tooth was extracted. Since the extraction, my 2nd molar has drifted. A crown was added two years later to address decay and to close the gap, but the tooth has drifted more. I have a cavity on the second molar, and I need to redo the crown. The dentist will try to close the gap and has recommended a night retainer (I don't think I'll wear it). Would an implant to replace my wisdom tooth be an option?

Hello! It's unfortunate you had a bad experience with your dentist. If you have no trust in your current dentist, you should go somewhere else. You'll always be questioning if what your current dentist is suggesting is the right/best thing and that's no way to go forward with a dentist/patient...
Hello!Without an exam and x-rays it's difficult to determine what the best course of treatment would be for you. If you have a tooth below your second molar an implant would be beneficial for complete and balanced chewing. Good luck!
