Fractional laser is an amazing and highly effective treatment in our office. We use the laser treatment to help with acne scars, large pores, fine wrinkles, tissue collagen loss, scars, sebaceous hyperplasia, active acne, and for brightening dark pigmentation. Although there are very strong fractional lasers such as CO2 laser, we use lighter treatments for corrective skincare and maintenance of results. Our Thulium fractional laser, clear and brilliant laser, and Ultra Thulium laser are excellent options in our clinic. We also perform CO2 fractional and erbium depending on skin tone and tolerance for downtime. Patients do have to use a Melarase cream before and after treatment to help further reduce pigmentation after laser. Melarase AM, Melarase PM, and Melapads can seriously improve surface sun damage and UV related pigmentation. Dark spots can improve with these treatments. I recommend fractional laser for incisional scars as well, especially after plastic surgery. Best,Dr. Karamanoukian Realself100 Surgeon
Thanks for your question. We never recommend dermarollers because it causes unnecessary dermal trauma. Microneedling is better because the needles travel perpendicularly to the skin surface. If you think about the rollers, they go in at an angle, straighten up and come out in the opposite direction. You end up with long slits instead of tiny pinpoints. It is illegal to sell medical devices to the public. These home use devices are dumbed down to not be medical grade (or effective). After a complete medical screening, we would probably recommend a series of an energy device. Bulk heating works well to stimulate collagen production. We use a radio frequency device called Pelleve for skin tightening. It is a very pleasant treatment that feels like a warm rock massage. It does take 90 to 120 days to notice a difference in collagen production. Another option would be a series of Fractional 1540nm laser resurfacing. Best of luck
Multiple studies have shown microneedling (performed by a board-certified dermatologist or certified physician assistant) can help the appearance of stretch marks. Around 5-7 treatments are required. Sadly, stretch marks cannot be completely removed, but they can be improved.
Derma rolling or skin needling is an entry level treatment to skin care and scar revision. Using oil has little added benefits, however if you would like to go ahead, do a test patch first. Most specialist use active ingredients like copper peptides, PRP, or ascorbic acid post needling. All the...
For mild rosacea derma roller is not recommended. Rosacea is a chronic imflammation of the skin. Depending on what grade of rosacea you are suffering from you might benefit from laser and light treatments if it's mild or topical or oral antibiotic treatments. It is important to see a phy...
