At 8 months, your breasts have settled and swelling has resolved.  So best to follow up with Operating MD so he/she can examine you to rule out capsular contracture.

There are many reasons why one breast can feel more firm than another breast. You are pretty far out from your operation and both should be soft however some times one breast can just take more time. I would recommend that you see your plastic surgeon for an examination to rule out early capsular contracture. Hello, from the photos provided it appears that  your breasts have normal shape and symmetry.  It is not possible to rule out early capsular contracture based on a photo but it might simply be that the left breast will take more time to soften since it would have been stretched out more by the implant.  If it doesn't improve, your PS will be able to help you understand the difference in their feel.

It is very possible for the implants to soften at different rates. If saline implants are used filling them with different volumes can cause change in how the implants feel. I suggest visiting your plastic surgeon to rule out early capsular contracture

It is common to have implants settle at different rates. If your pre-existing
anatomy has your breast creases or breast folds at different positions, they
implants will settle to different places. So your preoperative anatomy has a
lot to do with a final result. You are still early so give it some more time.

Each breast will respond differently to implants because no two breasts are the same. If they are soft, then they are probably fine. 

In person examination is indicated to rule out capsular contracture! Seek this from your original surgeon or second opinions.....
