The type of bleach is not nearly as important as the way it is delivered. Current research shows that a combination of in-office (high concentrated bleach) with follow-up at home with traditional bleaching trays (lower bleach concentration) gives the best results. In the case of tetracycline staining, the best results are obtained after daily bleaching that can take months. Patients without stubborn stains like tetracycline can achieve optimal results in a few days of at-home bleaching, while those with stubborn stains have to bleach daily for months to see similar results. Bleaching must be done daily to be most effective. Good luck!
