Holes on face after Glycolic acid 50 peeling. (Photos)

Question

I have done glycolic peeling at home And I left it on my face for about 2 mins After that I washed but it burned me and I got a hole on my chin Iam so worried about the hole Will it stay forever on my chin? How can I get rid of the burn and the hole ? Please advice me

Hi there,Sorry to hear about the aftereffect of your home glycolic peel. It is not worth the risk of damaging your skin by treating yourself at home with any acid. Without seeing you in the office, it is hard to tell if you have a true hole in the skin. Yes, your skin will heal, but could have some scaring or hyperpigmentation. To help your skin heal, use cool water to wash with, no steam or heat to the treated area, avoid sweating, limit sun exposure, use a gentle fragrance free cleanser, and wear sunscreen. If your skin feels tight use a moisturizer to keep skin hydrated. Regards,

This is one of the reasons acid should not be applied to the face by patients but in doctor;s office.  i have not seen nor heard of a hole produced by the acid and if this is the case the area will heal but will probably leave a scar
