Hi There,Every doctor has a different algorithm as to when or if you should start lymphatic massages. I follow the south american doctrine that lymphatic massages should begin fairly soon post procedure. Most of my patients either start immediately post op day 1 or 2-3 days later. All patients state that the massages are slightly uncomfortable but after the massages they feel much better!
Massage can be very helpful after liposuction. Usually during the first few days you might be too sensitive to have massage. However, after a few days, massage to the treated areas can be very helpful at speeding along the recovery process. Good luck.
Patients should always have a post-operative check prior to a massage, to ensure that there is no infection or collection of fluids such as a hematoma or seroma which might be exacerbated by the physical manipulation. Some doctors would start there patients on a regimen of Endermologie, which is a deep mechanical suction massage, as early as one month after the surgery. The same can be said for having a massage done, but please check with your surgeon first!
We offer our patients a complimentary lymphatic drainage massage, which we recommend they could do as early as 48 hours after surgery. It's always good to check in or tell your physician all you tend to do on the area he treated.

Unfortunately, any form of liposuction will probably not tighten loose skin as much as the patient would like. You may want to consider a tummy tuck instead. This is designed to remove excess fat and tighten the skin to give you a leaner contour. It can also remove some of your stretch marks,...
Guidelines vary by state, instittuion and practitioner. Traditionally many years ago nearly everyone over 30 had to get an EKG prior to general anesthesia. Now that has generally been limited to anyone with a history of cardiac disease or age over 50. Perhaps there was somethng in your medical...
