I had a mole/freckle thing for a few years on my face and that type of thing bothers me. Over a few days I recently picked at ituntil t was pretty much gone. Now I have this red spot where it was which looks even worse (it was much smaller before). What can I do, and do I absolutely need a doctor for this?

Thank you for your question and photograph. It's difficult to evaluate your skin through photos, but from what I can see, the area looks consistent with your history and that the wound is healing. If there are any signs of infection such as increase in redness, swelling, drainage, pain, etc., then I highly recommend you consult with a board certified dermatologist to have your skin evaluated and to discuss treatment options that best suit your needs.
