19 with worsening smile lines around mouth and under eyes: Will Tazorac help me?

There are many treatments for fine lines and wrinkles.  You are still very young, so I imagine that your lines aren't too prominent.  We all have "dynamic" wrinkles- lines that form on the face during expressions, and some then turn into "static" wrinkles- meaning that they remain in place even when you aren't smiling or making any expression.  The dynamic lines and wrinkles can be treated with Botox or Dysport, usually best used in the forehead or around the eyes.  Sometimes Botox or Dysport can be used around the mouth but they aren't quite as effective in my opinion in this area.That being said, there are a number of things you can do for the fine lines around your mouth and under your eyes.  First and foremost is to make sure you're wearing a moisturizer with SPF 30 every day.  No matter where you live, UV rays can damage your skin.  Even where I live (in the Pacific Northwest), the UV rays come through the clouds and we don't get burned or pink, but the damage is done.Secondly, a good retinoid cream can definitely help (like Retin-A or Tazorac)- but they can also be drying so make sure you have a good moisturizer.  Thirdly, you can have chemical peels and lasers for resurfacing if the topicals aren't cutting it.  There are many different types of peels and lasers to consider- I recommend you consult with a board certified dermatologist or plastic surgeon in your area.So, to answer your original question- Yes I do think Tazorac could help- however make sure you use a good moisturizer to combat the drying effect of Tazorac.  The results may be very subtle as well, so if you're looking for more dramatic results you may want to consider some in-office procedures.Good luck!
