Dr. Myung Ju Lee is a board-certified plastic surgeon in South Korea. He specializes in facial plastic surgery, with a focus on autologous rhinoplasty, which uses the patient’s own cartilage and focuses on the full balance of the face. He is also known for his expertise in body contouring procedures. Dr. Lee believes that the key principle of plastic surgery is to express creativity in the same manner that a visual artist would in his art, blended with technical expertise. He also believes that plastic surgery can bring out each individual’s natural beauty as well as enhance their self-confidence. At his practice, VIP International Plastic Surgery Center, Dr. Lee and his staff provide the highest level of safety and care for patients, throughout their entire surgical experience. When Dr. Lee was in high school, he became interested in the study of medicine, particularly in aesthetics and cosmeceuticals. This eventually led him to plastic surgery—the perfect arena to express his artistic talents. He earned his bachelors, masters, and medical degree from Chosun University, College of Medicine in Gwangju metropolitan city, and his PhD from Jun Nam University. Dr. Lee also completed his residency in plastic and reconstructive surgery at Chosun University. Over his 30-year career, Dr. Lee has achieved many milestones, including being the first plastic surgeon in Korea to perform and practice both the autologous rib cartilage rhinoplasty and the high-SMAS facelift, which lifts and repositions both the skin and underlying muscle layer, for more natural-looking and longer-lasting results. He has served as a chief doctor and instructor for various hospitals and universities, including posts as clinical professor at the Chosun University School of Medicine and the Inje University School of Medicine. He is a member of several prestigious associations, including the American Society of Plastic Surgeons, the American Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery, the International Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery, the Korean Society of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeons, and the International Confederation for Plastic, Reconstructive, and Aesthetic Surgery.
