Coolsculpting - I had my stomach done

The biggest reason why I don’t recommend coolscuplting is the time it takes to see results. Unless you quickly follow up with a few more treatments. By the time your body shows results, it’s possible that you put on new fat on the previous fat. You need to be really careful with your diet post procedure otherwise you’ll cover up your fat reduction with more fat. If the results were visib...

Q: Should I have tummy tuck or Liposuction first? (Photo)
Answered by Dr. HughesMarch 10, 2023

A: Hello there! Based on the photos that you've shared along with your question, I would say that you're a Tummy Tuck Candidate. For the majority of my patients who receive tummy tucks, we will pair liposuction along with the abdominoplasty for the best results!

Q: What will recovery be like from day to day after breast augmentation? How soon will I be able to pick up my one year old baby?
Answered by Dr. HughesJanuary 5, 2023

A: Hello and congratulations on scheduling your surgery!

For a breast augmentation, you want to avoid heavy lifting for up to 6 weeks. For the first 4 weeks after your surgery, you should not lift anything over 10 lbs. Ideally, you would not lift anything over 20 lbs for the full 6 weeks after your procedure. However, life with a toddler is not always that simple! Picking your child up once or twice in the 4-6 week period following your surgery is not going to completely ruin your results. Everyone is different and it is extremely important to listen to your body. This time is recommended to ensure that there is no bleeding or moving of the implants and should be taken seriously. I recommend holding your one year old when you have a couch or chair to support some of the weight! Best of luck!

Q: I want large, lifted breasts with a natural look. Should I get a breast lift with or without implants? (photos)
Answered by Dr. HughesApril 14, 2022

A: Hi there! Based on your photos and treatment goals, you seem like you could be a good candidate for a mini breast lift since you do not have severe sagging of the breasts. If you do not wish for implants, you would always opt for a fat transfer. This procedure would remove fat from a larger area (stomach, flanks, thighs) using the suction liposuction technique, and then would be processed and placed back into the breasts for a natural enhancement. If you are okay with implants but would prefer a natural look, you could go for a small, medium-profile silicone gel implant (330-350cc).

Good luck with your surgery journey!

Q: Not sure which procedure is right for me - Arm sculpting or arm lift? (photos)
Answered by Dr. HughesApril 14, 2022

A: Hi there! Based on these pictures alone, you do seem like a good candidate for an arm lift (Brachioplasty) in combination with liposuction. This procedure focuses on removing excess fat and reducing excess skin to create a more toned appearance. I know you don't want to pay for 2 surgeries, but sometimes surgeons are able to work out a better payment option if you combine liposuction with your surgery, rather than needing to do multiple liposuction approaches to get your desired look.

Make sure to ask your local plastic surgeon if their practice offers a payment plan, such as CareCredit, this is a great option to finance your surgery. Good luck!

Q: Can abdominal fascia laxity be repaired? (photos)
Answered by Dr. HughesJuly 3, 2019

A: Hello there. Thank you for reaching out.  I'm sorry you're having to go through this.

It is difficult to tell without seeing your preoperative photos, But the pictures you sent definitely imply that Your repair Might have "failed".  In other words, yes, stitches can break, They can tear through the abdominal fascia/muscles, and the diastasis can "come back".  Unfortunately, the only real solution to that is to Repeat the surgery. Depending on what the surgeon finds at the reoperation, Occasionally we need to Perform a more aggressive abdominal wall repair.  As long as there is no hernia, you are "Safe", But from a cosmetic perspective you may want to Investigate your options.  I would recommend going back to your surgeon and by comparing Photos, and a physical exam, they should be able to present your options.  Good luck, and I hope this helps.
