Q: Is Motiva Ergonomix 2 (joy) really better than Ergonomix?
Answered by Dr. MarandoApril 12, 2024

A: Thank you for your question. Joy Ergonomix 2 implants are known for their softer gel, which provides a more natural feel and mimics the shape of natural breasts, making them an excellent choice if you're aiming for a natural appearance. The difference in touch can also be influenced by the amount of breast tissue covering the implant. This aspect should be thoroughly discussed during your consultation. Consider scheduling a second consultation with your surgeon to ensure all details are addressed before making a final decision. Best regards Andrea Marando Plastic and Cosmetic Surgeon

Q: Will 280cc corse Motiva round look natural? (Photo)
Answered by Dr. MarandoApril 12, 2024

A: Thank you for your questions and photographs. Motiva implants are available in smooth/nano-textured surfaces. Based on my experience, as well as that of many colleagues, it's important to note that highly projected smooth implants carry a higher risk of rotation over time, potentially up to 180 degrees. Motiva offers several styles, including mini (low projection), demi (moderate projection), full (full projection), and corse (extra projected). If your goal is to achieve a natural appearance, I recommend discussing with your surgeon the option of choosing a demi or full projected implant. It might also be beneficial to consult with at least two surgeons to gain a broader understanding of your options and ensure you make the right decision. Q: Process of removal - do I have options?
Answered by Dr. MarandoApril 12, 2024

A: Thank you for your questions and the details provided. 650 cc is a large implant and therefore not only the size of your breasts will change but also the shape. It is very likely that you will also need some form of breast reshaping , such as mastopexy / breastlift. If however you had at least some "pre-breast augmentation breast volume", you might be able to have just the mastopexy procedure; if this is not the case, fat grafting will be a good option for you to restore some volume. All the best Andrea Marando Plastic and Cosmetic Surgeon Manchester, UK

Q: Second opinion about second surgery - Is 100g reasonable or should I get another opinion? (Photos)
Answered by Dr. MarandoFebruary 3, 2024

A: Thank you for your question, and for the photographs. I believe during Breast Reduction, the most important factor is not the amount of breast tissue reduced/weight but the overall shape and proportion of the cosmetic result. From the photographs, it appears that your breasts are quite wide. A very significant reduction in volume would often result in a very flat, under-projected breast However, seeking a second opinion is always a good option to help you decide the best course of action. All the best with your further surgery. Andrea Marando Plastic and Cosmetic Surgeon Manchester, UK

Q: 425cc, round silicone, 5'3, 6 months post-op - what has gone wrong here? (Photos)
Answered by Dr. MarandoJanuary 24, 2024

A: Thank you for your question and for the photographs. Your implants appear quite high. Was it a dual plane technique? Do you have animation of the breasts when you activate your pectoralis muscle? My suggestion would be to consult your surgeon and ask for his / her opinion in order to identify the best course of action to improve the appearance; potentially a skin tightening procedure such as a modified mastopexy - breast lift, will be useful. I am sure this can be improved. All the best. Andrea Marando Plastic and Cosmetic Surgeon Manchester, UK
