Q: Am I candidate for a breast augmentation without a lift? Will implants look too saggy? (photos)
Answered by Dr. BlakeSeptember 12, 2022

A: Hello,

I think you would be much happier with your results if you had a lift to go along with the aug. The aug will help with the volume loss you're experiencing but you would still see the sagging as well. And over time that will not improve. It would also be hard to achieve any type of cleavage if you are seeking that. That said, an aug only would not be something that would look disfiguring by any means.

Q: 5'4, age 33, will 325/350cc on naturally larger boobs be too big? (Photo)
Answered by Dr. BlakeSeptember 12, 2022

A: Hello,

Do you have any photos of what you're looking to achieve? That may help to assist. It's hard to say something is 'too big' without knowing your personal preference.

If you are looking to fill simply the top of the breast you can explore a fat transfer as well, that may be an option that helps you achieve a much more targeted volume increase.

Q: Is it safe to take Adderall prior to general anesthesia for breast augmentation?
Answered by Dr. HussussianAugust 26, 2022

A: Hello

Every surgeon and anesthesiologist will have their own surgical protocol they develop. Therefore nobody here can tell you whether you will need to stop or not when having surgery with someone outside of their practice. That said, my personal protocol is to stop all medications 2 weeks prior to surgery as to not interfere with the administering of your general anesthesia.

Q: I had a pulmonary embolism after a boob job, now I regret the size. Can I redo the boob job?
Answered by Dr. HussussianAugust 26, 2022

A: Hello

Yes, you still could have surgery, even with a history of PE. We would take specific precautions to minimize the risk including medication, where we operated, and post operative care. I would also vehemently disagree with anyone suggesting smoking after surgery is appropriate, it will inhibit your body's recovery process.

Q: I have a breast augmentation scheduled. X Ray was normal but my EKG was not. will this make me ineligible for my surgery?
Answered by Dr. HussussianAugust 26, 2022

A: Hello

The determination for this will fall on your surgeon and your anesthesiologist. There is not universal agreement on what should or should not disqualify someone from surgery.
