I have wanted a breast augmentation ever since I can remember. And then came along the bombshell bras... they were life savers! ...until I put my bathing suit on or went to a workout class. That was my reality check. This year something urged me more than ever to look into breast augmentations. (I think I'm having a mid-20 crisis.) I began talking to a few friends who went through with getting BAs and they were both very informative. One told me about her experience at My Plastic Surgery Group and how happy she is with her results and her doctor. She also mentioned how they do them in a hospital setting, which made her feel more comfortable knowing if anything went wrong, there was plenty of help close-by. I liked that idea too. The doctor much closer to me does them in his office. I didn't think I'd ever actually go through with the procedure, but I decided to give them a call about a consultation (mostly just nosing around) and they told me about their sale at the time. I'm a sucker for sales! I'm always the girl searching the clearance rack. Let's be honest, who doesn't love a sale, though?! So after I had asked them their hours and decided not book anything, I started doing some research. They had great reviews and I thought what do I have to lose? I also realized I had a 3 day weekend coming up that could maybe give me enough time to recover and go back to work like nothing happened and the surgery would be done before summer. Hello swimsuit season! I sent an email to My Plastic Surgery Group to see if I could have surgery on Friday, May, 26th and they said it was available! I booked a consultation and the surgery before seeing the doctor. Talk about a trust fall?! The surgery wasn't totally locked in though, just a deposit to secured the date. I went to the consultation and it went great! Dr. Aker was very caring and friendly along with the awesome and helpful staff. I proceeded with signing papers for surgery and paid the rest of my balance. I was locked in and ready to go! And in the meantime, I think I did nothing but research breast augmentations. Updated on 20 Jun 2017: The whole healing process has taken a little longer than I anticipated but it has been worth it. All of my clothes are fitting so much better and I'm anxious to wear regular bras and find out my true size. I originally wore a 32 B at Vicky Secrets and recently went to get measured. Idk why it seems like their measurements are always off but they measured me at a 32 B lol. Before my BA they would measure me at 34 C... I ended up trying on several bras and a 32 DD was fitting best. I still had a bit of swelling then so we will see what I end up with! Loving life with the new girls!!
I'm scheduled to get a breast augmentation on Thursday, Jan 19! I'm really excited, and a little nervous! I've been working out for quite a few years now, and I breast fed both of my kids (1yr old and 2yr old) and my girls are done! I've wanted a breast augmentation for quite a few years and the time is finally here! I originally wanted an augmentation without a lift, and now I'm not so sure. My Dr said I do not 'need' a lift, but I could get a lift with augmentation if I wanted. I want the final look to be more of a natural tear drop shape. I'm just concerned that they may look a little too low on my chest. Has anyone been kind of boarder line in need of a lift, and chose to get the augmentation only? From my research, it seems as though I can go either way. Thoughts? Updated on 19 Jan 2017: Well, it's surgery day!! My surgery is scheduled for 10am and check in is at 8! Everything that I read and tips from other women who've had BA said to get a good nights sleep the night before surgery, but my nerves won't let me! It's 3:30am and I've been tossing and turning since 2, with no sign of going to sleep anytime soon, so I figured I'd make a post! I'm really excited and just a little anxious! I can't believe the day is finally here!! I'm ready to start the recovery process and I'm a little nervous to see just how much pain I'll be in! My doc has my 'want pics' and all of my stats! I'll come back later today and talk about how I'm feeling day of surgery, as well as size, profile, over/under, etc! Of course I'll post pics as well! Here goes nothin! Updated on 19 Jan 2017: Surgery went great! I was laying on the table at 10:00am on the dot!! And the last thing I remember was looking at the time in the surgical room, then nothing until 3pm! The surgery lasted an hour, then I was sleeping at the hospital for quite some time! Apparently anesthesia REALLY knocks me out!! The staff was amazing, so kind and attentive! They answered every question my husband and I had! It was a great experience at the hospital! Dr. Sando really made me feel at ease! My favorite thing that he said was 'In surgery we can't promise much, but I can promise you that you'll be safe and that you'll have 110% of my full attention and care!' He's so sweet! And as it turns out, he actually performed the BA surgery for the daughter of the nurse that was caring for me! It was just all around awesome! After leaving the hospital, my husband drove us home and I went right back to sleep! It's now 7pm and I finally feel awake enough to binge watch some Netflix! I feel pretty good! I am in pain, as to be expected, but it's not as bad as I thought it would be...yet at least! I'll keep you posted on that! I haven't had any nausea at all, thank goodness! I've eaten a few crackers, drank a ginger ale, and that's about it so far. Since I handled that pretty well, I'm about to eat a little heavier. Time to grub!! I'm so excited because I'm starving! I can get around pretty well, I can lift my hands above my head... slowly. I'm pretty tinder when I try to adjust my position on the couch, which is where I'll be camping out for the next couple of days! The swelling isn't too bad, but I believe I'll probably swell a little more ever night. My Dr only has me wearing the elastic strap, and that's it for the first week. I won't be wearing a bra until after my 1week post op appointment on the 25th of Jan, next Wednesday. Updated on 19 Jan 2017: Updated on 19 Jan 2017: I'm 33yrs old, 5'6", 135lbs, silicone, under the muscle, 371cc in each breast Updated on 20 Jan 2017: It is day one post op and I am feeling pretty good! I have minimal/swelling and a bit of bruising. I feel the most pain when I move from different positions. I have been eating as normal. Still waiting for my firs bowel movement. (TMI... I Know!) I think I will feel better after that as well. I've posted a few more pics! I think the girls look pretty damn good, especially only being 1 day post op! I'm so excited!! Updated on 22 Jan 2017: I'm feeling pretty good today! I've only taken Tylenol and I just feel a little tender where the bruising is, along the sides of my chest. We actually went to lunch as a family and I felt just about normal! The swelling and bruising is getting better day by day, and now that the swelling has decreased, I can see where the implants are. Nice and high, like they should be post op! That's actually pretty comforting for me because i was worried that they were going to drop too low! But looks like they are right on track! They look a lot smaller when I have a shirt on, which I love as well. A nice natural look is what I was going for, and I think Dr. Sando gave me just that! I'll keep you posted!! Updated on 23 Jan 2017: I can't say enough about Dr. Sando and My Plastic Surgery Group in Carmel IN! The doctors and the staff are so amazing and so thoughtful! Today, post op day 4, I got a knock on my door, and it was a delivery man, delivering a gorgeous flower arrangement with a card sending well wishes! It's the little things and the little details that have made this experience that much better!! <3 I feel better already! Updated on 25 Jan 2017: I had my one week post-op appointment today! Technically I am 6 days post op and I am feeling great! He was very happy with my progress so far. He said I am healing nicely. I am cleared to workout anything except chest exercises and/or pull-ups. I still need to wear the strap at night for one more week, but I can wear a bra during the day. So far so good! Updated on 30 Jan 2017: Today was my first day back to work and it was a long day! I'm 11 days post-op and I thought I was more than ready! I've been feeling great doing day to day activities, even holding my kids, etc! But working was a different story! I'm a personal trainer and I took it easy, for sure! But moving around, being on my feet all day, keeping my energy up all day was exhausting! I know my Dr said it takes a little while to get back to your normal energy level, but I guess I didn't realize to what extent! Hopefully I'll be feeling more like myself soon! But I'm healing rather nicely! The swelling is just about gone, I believe. I've noticed a difference as they settle and drop a little more into place. I'm so curious as to what they will look like! I love the size! I'm excited for them to soften and I know it'll just get better with time! I'll post more pics later this week at 2wks post op! Updated on 2 Feb 2017: It's been two weeks and I feel amazing! I completed my first workout yesterday (lower body) and it felt great! I'm not sore at all, which I thought I would be! I think the girls are healing nicely. They definitely have changed. I kind of feel like they are in an awkward teen stage or adolescence! Lol! They are dropping and changing shape almost daily it seems. I notice small changes pretty often. My incisions can get quite sore. I'm still looking for a bra that is comfortable, not too tight, and doesn't rub on my incision! If anyone has suggestions, please let me know!! The best news for today.... I don't have to wear that damn strap anymore!! I'm so excited about that!! Haha! I have my next appointment in about three weeks! I can't wait to see the progress then!
Updated on 3 Feb 2016: Hi All! They're out!!! Whoohooo!!! Sorry I haven't updated sooner. My 2 year old is sick & my middle son has the flu right now so I have been trying to rest & also take care of both of them. My surgery was easy peasy. I came in & they called me back. They took several pics. Then I changed into my gown. I then headed back to the surgery room. I took my first vallium & the nurse that would be assisting Dr. Akers answered all of the questions I had. I had ZERO restrictions after I was finished with the removal. 15 mins later Dr. Akers came in & I took my second vallium. I was already feeling really relaxed but I wanted to stay that way so I took the second one. They had me sit on a chair that looked just like the one you sit at at the gyno. It was reclined back slightly. The nurse helping-Jess, stuffed towels behind each side of my back to catch the water from my implants. I had also opted to change into surgery shorts so that my yoga pants didn't get soaked. He numbed each such with novacane. Needles don't bother me so a couple pinches on each side underneath we each breast & then I was done. I was feeling super relaxed from the pills & was ready to go. I popped my headphones in & closed my eyes & just relaxed. It was weird because I could feel him poke me with the sharp scalpel but I couldn't feel any pain. He did my right side first. I could tell when he popped my implant be aside I could feel the saline running down my side & back. Then he pushedon my breast to fully drain the implant. It was like instant relief when the saline was all gone & I could also feel more relief when he pulled the implant out. He then did the other side. I had even more relief when this side was drained because this was the side that always felt heavier & the side that the implant had flipped. I had pulled my headphones out of my ear & had asked if they were out when he had done each side because I told him I could instantly feel a relief of pressure on each side immediately. He then stitched me up. I looked at them & said they look like old grandma boobs & laughed but said I'm happy they're out! He showed me the I plan I had in & it read 525cc's!!! Which he said were filled to atleast 550 if not probably 575/580, maybe more!!!!! Insane!!! He was like these are def too big for your frame! I couldn't believe I was carrying implants that large!!! Not what I had signed off on to put in my body. Any who they were out & that's what mattered. I put on a sports bra I had brought. I called my hubby to come pick me up & I was done! I have a follow up appointment in two weeks. I have been rubbing cream on them 2-3 times a day & been wearing cuo formed sports bra. I purchased a small & I think I may need a medium. I tried on a few other small bras I had bought & they all need to go back because they are too tight. I took the pain pills that he has given me but the second time I took one at 3:30AM I woke up the next day & couldn't move!! I felt like I was going to throw up the entire day until 4PM. Thank God my hubby was home because I couldn't move. I was literally laying on the floor in fetal position the entire day until I took a nap with my two year old at noon until about 4. Pain meds don't gerenally agree with me so I am done with them. I'm not sore at all except for my incisions which my 2 year old has accidentally kicked a few times. Any who these pics are from 2 days post surgery & I will continue to update every few days or weeks! Updated on 3 Feb 2016: His beside manner is like no other Doctor I have seen. I could've sat in his office all day & he would've patiently coved all of my concerns & answered any questions I had. He didn't rush me ever or seem annoyed with my many redundant questions!!! I recoeved a HANDWRITTEN thank you card from Dr. Aker several days after my consultation. Two days after my explant I recoeved a BEAUTIFUL floral arrangement with a sweet note card wishing me to feel better soon!!! How awesome is that?!?! My Plastic Surgery Group HS totally exceeded all of my expectations & gone above & beyond what I have ever had any doctor do for me EVER!! Updated on 5 Feb 2016: Not sure if there are any changes. My bandages came off yesterday & I showered. I have been rubbing cream on them 3x's/day. Not sure if it's going to help but def worth the effort if it makes any difference!! I am massaging them when I put the cream on bc I read that others were doing this too. I wasn't instructed to do either but I figured if I can incorporate one more thing that could possibly help, what the heck, it's worth a try!! :) Updated on 10 Feb 2016: I had my post op visit on Tuesday & not a whole lot to report back except that things look good. My incisions are heeling great & my PS wants to see me again in 2 months. I'm not sure that there are any big changes to my breasts so I will post either weekly or biweekly photos for you that are considering removal, just so you can see the changes (if any happen). My hubs took me to Victoria's Secret last night to try on bras & I'm a 30 or 32 D!!! Say whaaaat?!? I have a very skewed view of D boobs since I have had my implants it! LOL I assumed I was an A, B at most. But a D-I'm literally never crossed my mind! I am just buying other comfy sports bras for now to get me through until I have my lift. I don't want to waste the money & then come out a different size after my lift & have to buy more bras. Besides, my left boob is a whole cup size bigger & it's very noticeable in a normal bra & made me not feel so good... Other than that I'm feeling great!! No regrets!! I think a lift is def in order & im going to probably schedule it when I go back in 2 months! ???????????????? Updated on 19 Feb 2016: Just wanted to share a few new photos. I am noticing small changes!! :) I am very happy with my right boob. It's shrinking up slowly! The left side is too, but it def hangs lower & looks diff. It has more breast tissue but it's almost like its spread out from the top to. The bottom of my boob....I am hoping they continue to change over the next few months!! I am so happy!! Updated on 3 Mar 2016: Just wanted to share a few quick pics bc my boobs are still changing :)
