In October 2024 Dr. Aker performed a circumferential tummy tuck (body lift) with muscle repair and a small amount of liposuction for my lower back. I had lost over 130lbs and my skin showed it. This month, January 2025, I went back to see him for a breast lift and augmentation. My experience was amazing from start to finish. Dr. Aker was described as a “perfectionist” by several people and with my results I can attest to that. He is also a very kind man; a salt of the earth person. Dr. Aker has a large team of medical professionals in his office who are so great to be around, as well. A lot of sharp, fast, high energy people who care; which I appreciated. You can tell they all take pride in what they do. I have zero regrets in choosing Dr. Aker. He takes his time and he is an expert to the nth degree. Everyone I show my before and afters to are jaw-on-the-ground shocked at what Dr. Aker was able to do.
Hands down the best reconstructive plastic surgery in the state of Indiana and to be honest out of many states in the USA. He is definitely top tier. Seriously I cannot rave about this Dr enough. I’ve seen many plastic surgeons (many who are on the top of the list for real self) and their work does NOT compare to Dr Akers. I had a Circumferential Tummy Tick with Muscle Repair and Lipo to my flanks. Circumferential is also known as a lower body lift. My results have floored me and I’m just 3 weeks post op. I’m 5’2 and weighed 150 day of surgery and now I’m 140. He executed my results so well I have people coming to see him from other states. He was able to remove 8 pounds of skin after me losing 100 pounds naturally. My belly button is amazing. That’s honestly what the deal breaker was for me. I looked at EVERY drs results and almost every Dr had coin a lot belly buttons, the dead giveaway that you had a tummy tuck but Dr Aker, he takes his time, he literally recreates your belly button to the point you can’t see scars and people can’t tell you’ve had any work done. Seriously I’m leaving pictures below to prove my claims. The left picture is my morning of surgery and the right picture is me 3 weeks post op (today). Seriously you WANT this Dr as your Dr if you live in Indiana or surrounding area.
I have been wanting a breast augmentation since I was in my 20s. Then a few years after nursing 3 kids, I knew it was time. I am 40 years old and in the best shape of my life but my breasts lost so much life with working out and kids. Dr. Aker immediately understood my active lifestyle and how I didn’t want to get large boobs. I wanted to stay small chested but be able to fill out a bikini. He delivered exactly what I wanted. Now a small c. Still waiting for the left side to drop but super happy with the size . Plus he fixed minor asymmetry and my nipples are super even. Highly recommend his office !
My previous plastic surgeon was Jan Turkle across the street from Dr Aker. Her bedside manner was horrible. Dr Aker is a breathe of fresh air. He completed my tummy tuck, it looks great, and he’s a kind man!
Great experience, very caring and genuine. I had a limpoma on my right side over the shoulder blade that needed to be removed. After consulting with a dermatologist and a plastic surgeon, I decided to move forward with Dr Aker. He gave me the confidence because of his surgeon's skills. I wanted minimal scar and a more "plastic surgery" look instead just a big scar on my back. My scar is very small, I cannot even notice. I also had a double earlobe repair done at the same time. Everything was done at his office in the same day and I had no pain. I was impressed by the results and with my experience with his office. I would definitely recommend Dr. Aker.
I have now had 2 procedures by Dr. Aker and I can’t say enough about him and his staff. Both of my procedures were done with local anesthetic and were a breeze. He is very informative and seems to care deeply for his patients. I’ve always felt total confidence in him.
Dr. Aker is the BEST Dr. I have ever had. I had an extended TT after bypass, and he did an amazing job. I can hardly believe that this is my tummy!!!! He and his staff are the most caring people I have ever encountered. They are all so nice and informative and after meeting Dr. Aker for the first time I felt comfortable enough to proceed with my surgery and am SO happy that I did. I would highly recommend him and the office to anyone looking for plastic surgery needs.
I have wanted a breast augmentation ever since I can remember. And then came along the bombshell bras... they were life savers! ...until I put my bathing suit on or went to a workout class. That was my reality check. This year something urged me more than ever to look into breast augmentations. (I think I'm having a mid-20 crisis.) I began talking to a few friends who went through with getting BAs and they were both very informative. One told me about her experience at My Plastic Surgery Group and how happy she is with her results and her doctor. She also mentioned how they do them in a hospital setting, which made her feel more comfortable knowing if anything went wrong, there was plenty of help close-by. I liked that idea too. The doctor much closer to me does them in his office. I didn't think I'd ever actually go through with the procedure, but I decided to give them a call about a consultation (mostly just nosing around) and they told me about their sale at the time. I'm a sucker for sales! I'm always the girl searching the clearance rack. Let's be honest, who doesn't love a sale, though?! So after I had asked them their hours and decided not book anything, I started doing some research. They had great reviews and I thought what do I have to lose? I also realized I had a 3 day weekend coming up that could maybe give me enough time to recover and go back to work like nothing happened and the surgery would be done before summer. Hello swimsuit season! I sent an email to My Plastic Surgery Group to see if I could have surgery on Friday, May, 26th and they said it was available! I booked a consultation and the surgery before seeing the doctor. Talk about a trust fall?! The surgery wasn't totally locked in though, just a deposit to secured the date. I went to the consultation and it went great! Dr. Aker was very caring and friendly along with the awesome and helpful staff. I proceeded with signing papers for surgery and paid the rest of my balance. I was locked in and ready to go! And in the meantime, I think I did nothing but research breast augmentations. Updated on 20 Jun 2017: The whole healing process has taken a little longer than I anticipated but it has been worth it. All of my clothes are fitting so much better and I'm anxious to wear regular bras and find out my true size. I originally wore a 32 B at Vicky Secrets and recently went to get measured. Idk why it seems like their measurements are always off but they measured me at a 32 B lol. Before my BA they would measure me at 34 C... I ended up trying on several bras and a 32 DD was fitting best. I still had a bit of swelling then so we will see what I end up with! Loving life with the new girls!!
I got under the muscle low profile saline implants and told the doctor I didn't want larger than 350. One was filled to 350 and the other 380. The one that's filled to 380 was also "tunneled" down in the muscle to make even. I do not like the side that is 380. It is larger and doesn't fit in bras because it spills over. It's like muffin top for a boob. Updated on 4 Feb 2016: This is 6 years after surgery. This is after two pregnancies (gained 47lbs with both) and I'm currently 49 pounds heavier than when I got the implants. They are low profile, saline, under the muscle, 350 and 380.
Can't say enough good things about Dr. Aker. Nice person, very caring, great surgeon, experience has been professional and thorough from start to finish. He didn't try to talk me in to other procedures that I didn't inquire about. He is very personable, and his staff is very available to answer questions. Very pleased with the experience and I would recommend Dr. Aker!
48 hours after surgery it is very unlikely that you can do anything that will harm yourself of your surgical result. Exercise is actually very helpful in reducing recovery time. It is best to start with light aerobic exercise after 48 hours and then progress as your body allows. If the exercise is too painful then stop. When you are exercising, your increased heart rate is improving blood flow to the areas that are healing, and speeds their recovery.
Breast development begins with the onset of puberty, and continues through the teenage years. The age at which breast size stabilizes varies and is determined by genetics. Most women achieve final breast size between the ages of 17 and 21.
The recovery from breast augmentation varies, because everyone perceives and tolerates pain differently. Other factors such as past experience with surgery or pregnancy generally reduce recovery time In general the recovery is proportional to the size of the implant that is placed. Most women are returning to work and exercise after just a few days. Scars typically fade after several months. The least noticeable scars are in the armpit area. When an endoscopic breast augmentation is performed through the armpit, the resulting scars typically look like natural crease lines, and there are no scars on the great at all.
Yes, upper eyelid lift or blepharoplasty only removes the excess skin and tissue above the natural eyelid crease. The actual size of the open eye itself (distance between the eyelids) should not change with a carefully performed surgery. However frequently the extra tissue or hooding can make the eyes look smaller, so that when it is removed if gives the illusion that the eyes are bigger. There are additional procedures that can be performed if the eyelid level is low (the medical term for this is ptosis). Ptosis correction does increase the size of the open eye because it raises the upper eyelid level.
