I have been debating a Breast lift for twenty years. I had very small breasts before I had children. I went from an "A" cup to a "DDD" fairly quickly. They were droopy and heavy. I finally made the decision to do it and am thankful I did.
First and foremost: I was a flat chested 32A and I am a gigantic wimp about pain. My results are above and beyond what I expected. I went in with some ideas of what I wanted, and Dr. Levin discussed all my options and what he felt would be best for me. Ultimately, it was my decision what I wanted to achieve, but he helped me make the most informed decision I could. I opted for silicone implants. I heeded his advice on sizing and I am happy I did. I went from a 32A to a 32D and I have never felt more confident. I finally fit in clothing I dreamed of wearing, and recently even bought my dream wedding dress. Before surgery I was nervous about shopping for a dress because I thought I would have to wear a bra, thus limiting my options. However, now I fit in anything I want and I couldn't be happier. And let me tell you, going braless is awesome. The best part is, if you looked at me you wouldn't know I have implants. I have told acquaintances and the response is "NO WAY!". When I am wearing a regular shirt, you would really never guess. When wearing a swimsuit or a low cut top the size is more noticeable. However, it's noticeable in a good way, not a "[RS bleep]" way. I look completely natural and that's what I wanted. The surgery itself was easy. As mentioned, I'm a wimp (they had to put a sock over the IV needle because I would've fainted if I saw it). I was very nervous but the hospital staff and Dr. Levin's team made it easy. I came home about 6 hours after being admitted and was awake the rest of the day in little to no discomfort. My chest was tightly bound, so I didn't feel too much. I went in the next day and they took the wrap off, which I would say was the most painful (but ultimately not bad at all) part of the process. I spent the next week on the couch watching Netflix and using my arms like a T-Rex because you can't pick anything up. Hilarious for those around you. My fiancé stayed with me the day following surgery, and the 2nd day post-op a nurse friend stopped by for a little, but I was fine being pretty independent. Just make sure someone leaves the essentials on the kitchen counter for you so you can use your T.Rex arms to eat. Honestly, sitting still and not being productive was the most "painful" part of the whole thing. You can only watch so much Netflix... I did have an issue with one of the incisions ripping about two weeks post-op (I didn't even feel it happen). My scar isn't the prettiest because of that, but they're still healing so I expect it to look better down the road. If you're curious about sizing, here's some background: I always wore XS/SM shirts. I still do! Even sports bras I wear a SM. People told me I would HAVE to buy an all new wardrobe...Not true. I now fill out the clothes I had and can still wear the same sizing. However, you will WANT to buy a new wardrobe because you can finally wear the low cut tops you dreamed of! Overall I would honestly do the procedure again. If you're concerned about pain, don't be. I would absolutely describe it as one of the best decisions I've ever made. As I sat at home hours after surgery, all wrapped up and swollen, I was like, "What have I done?" But, after 15 feet of bandages are taken off and you take the first look in the mirror you feel overwhelming joy. I couldn't wait to go shopping. My confidence is through the roof, and that is a priceless feeling.
So I had my first consultation with my PS today! I was so excited! My consultation was initially with his nurse/patient coordinator. She is WONDERFUL!. I showed up about 45min early (excited plus no traffic!). They took me right back and I watched two videos (TT & BA). Then we went into an exam room and she showed me and my hubby the silicone/saline implants. Then we discussed TT. She stated that I may have to have the FDL (fleur di lis) TT. She heard Dr. Levin speaking in the hallway and asked if I would like to meet him. Usually you have to schedule a consultation with him and pay $125. I said sure and in he came! He answered all our questions and went into further detail. He told me what I would need to have done and what he would do. It was very exciting to hear him say, "You really don't need to lose anymore weight, as this is all skin!". :) Hubby and I are discussing and I'm going to schedule surgery for September 25th! I travel for work over the summer so that will be the best time for us! :) So excited!!! Updated on 28 Apr 2014: So, after hearing that the PS recommends a FDL, I'm a little hesitant to say the least. I think I'm going to seek out another consultation for comparison. I wanted to add two more pictures and see what anyone else thought. Full TT vs FDL? Updated on 22 May 2014: So I scheduled my surgery for BA & TT for Sept. 25th! I'm so excited! I'm going to spend the next 4 months losing the remaining weight (about 10-15lbs). I hope/plan to be 150lbs before my surgery! If you can't tell, I'm very excited. My husband is super supportive and I just hope these next 4 months go by quickly and productively in regards to weight loss. :) Updated on 25 Jul 2014: I have 4 more weeks until my pre-op appointment! I cannot wait! I'm working out and have reached my pre-op goal weight! I'm planning to maintain this weight and maybe even lose a little more to make up for what I might gain after surgery. Updated on 26 Aug 2014: I had my pre-op appt with my PS today! Got my prescriptions, my lab work order, my H&P/physical sheet and I'm ready to go! I cannot wait!!! I just have to buy my supplies and pack my overnight bag and I'm ready to go! Updated on 1 Oct 2014: Okay! I had my surgery on Thursday Sept. 25th! I absolutely loved Dr. Levin! The whole process went smoothly and I wasn't nervous at all! The first two-three days were pretty awful I'm not going to lie. I had my first post-op appt yesterday. He said everything is looking good and I can start to stand up a little straighter! FINALLY! The hunching over was killing my back. I go back Friday to get my three drains removed!! WAHOOOO! Those drains are annoying! Then it's shower time on Saturday! (You never know how much you take the little things for granted until you can't do them!) Oh Dr. Levin said he removed 5lbs of skin!! I can't wait to see this waist when I can stand up straight! :) Updated on 14 Jan 2015: I had my BA and TT done Sept. 25th by Dr. Levin with Lancaster Plastic Surgery. Dr. Levin and his staff are wonderful! I go back for my 4 month check up on Friday 1/23. I absolutely loved everything about the surgery (well maybe except for the 1st 3 days post-op). Dr. Levin is caring, courteous, never makes you wait long for your appointments and he's very thorough. He takes pride in his work. Sandy is his receptionist and she's a sweetheart! Barb is his nurse and she's informative, attentive and so nice!
