I have been going to this business since it was Dr Barber's office (I would say around 8 years). I was recommended by their esthetician to see Johnathan, who does skin laser treatment for a small dark spot on my cheek (a size of a pea) and broken capillaries on my nose. Before my appointment I got a keloid on my chin (basically a big pimple). I went to the dermatologist and they said it was fine, told me it won’t scar and I should take an antibiotic because it was inflamed. When I was in the appointment with Johnathan, I told him I was taking antibiotics for the bump on my chin in case there is an issue with mixing the two. I also asked if laser would heal by the following weekend (weekend after next) because I was going away and he assured me it would. He had me lay on my back and put goggles on. He did the spot on my cheek and the capillaries on my noses. He then started going over the bump on my chin and said it would help the healing process. It was surprising because I didn't ask for it and nor give permission. Then he starts going over my upper cheeks saying he’s treating it for the redness underneath my skin. I again didn't say anything and figured he knows what he’s doing. After the treatment, the spot on my cheek scabbed over badly and took 3 weeks to heal (well past the celebration weekend). When it finally healed, I had a brown spot and skin atrophy (a scar that is indented) . The scar is now the size of a nickel. The area he went over on my upper cheeks turned to multiple small brown spots all over the treated area and my chin now has ice pick scars (i.e. ditches in the skin). Even the broken capillaries were as if nothing was done. I went back to the office and he compared the before & after photos and agreed that it looked worse than when I went in originally. He told me he was confident it could be fixed. He treated the broken capillaries on my nose and gave me a cream for my skin. He said he will take care of it and not to worry. I left feeling confident from what he was telling me and feeling relieved he was going to take care of the issues. The next appt the office cancels on me so I eagerly wait for the rescheduled appt. When the time finally came, I was excited it was going to be addressed. When waiting for Johnathan, I was chatting with the office manager, Sarah. She was very sweet and empathetic. She was telling me of a similar experience and how she felt going through it. When Johnathan came in, his demeanor was completely different. He was saying that there isn’t much he can do, the cream was given to stop further discoloration and just to keep using it. Sarah understood my confusion and disappointment about what just happened and told me to call her and we can figure out a plan of action. I called Sarah and when we spoke, she was kind and willing to do what it takes to make sure there is some sort of a positive outcome. She said she would speak to the general manager and she confident things would work out. Around two weeks later I got a call from the general manager, Nikki (I think that was her name). I have never spoken with her, she never saw my skin, never even knew who she was until this conversation. She spoke to me in an accusatory way. She said that he gave me cream and treated the broken capillaries and that’s all they are willing to do and that they no longer want me coming into their practice. Also, that I signed a waiver for the treatment and this was a risk, as if I threatened to go litigious (which I did not). I thought they were going to take care of it like he assured me in the second visit. She even said there is a way to get rid of the ice pick scar in my chin through needling but they are unwilling to do it. I explained that I didn't know what he was doing and he said he would take care of the issues. I came out worse than when I came in. I was in tears and she could care less. Thank God it's smaller scars (tho on my face) and I didn’t have any augmentation or surgery cause it could have been way worse. I wold hate to have had plastic surgery and something went wrong and I was left disfigured and on my own.
