Girin Plastic Surgery & Dermatology - Korea

hi everyone! i underwent das + pitosis correction + lateral canthoplasty + epicanthoplasty at girin last year - here's my experience of researching, flying to korea and undergoing the consultations alongside surgery day + post op! hope this helps someone out!
I contacted Girin through whatsapp and they were very friendly and responsive through the whole process (Unfortunately there was an issue with my deposit, the staff was very patient and supportive with me though as it got sorted!) and flew to Korea in July 2024.

i flew to korea with my friend and we got picked up by Girins pick-up service - it was very easy to meet the driver and we headed into the city without any delay! I got consulted the next day in the clinic. there were two doctors who would be responsible for my surgery, and they were both very patient as they explained what the surgeries would do. I consulted with Dr Jeon and Dr Song - Dr Jeon was responsible for my epi + DAS / pitosis correction, and Dr Song would perform his well-known lateral canthoplasty technique. the consultations were very smooth and both doctors communicated what they would do very well! i was also asked to give a photo reference for the eye shape, and spent the rest of the day looking for something id like!

the next day, it was the day of surgery! i walked to girin from my hotel with my friend, who was there to watch the cctv of the procedure :) I remember changing into rhe surgery clothes and getting my before surgery photos taken, and then it was time for surgery~ i was a bit scared initially, but the staff there was very calming and soothed my nerves a lot, then i fell asleep under anesthesia. i was woken up halfway to check on the eyelid crease and a bit for lateral canthoplasty, but the whole process was very painless and felt very fast!

the first few days of healing it was quite hard to keep my eyes open - i drank 1-2 packs of pumpkin juice a day to clear up the swelling, and used the ice pack Girin had given me. i didn't do much, and slept a lot with the pillow propped up as this was supposed to reduce swelling as well! After day 4 my eyes had healed enough for me to start doing work again (from my hotel room of course) and go on devices normally!

After 10 days, I went back to Girin to get the stitches taken out. The whole process was quick and they also cleaned my eye corners! I flew out from Korea back home the same day as the stitches were taken out. My eyes had mostly de-swelled after this point, with some minimal bruising. My coworkers that knew about the procedure all said my eyes looked more awake :D

My eyes were completely de-swollen after a few weeks, and the corners stopped being red after around two months. It's now been 6 months and I'm very happy with my results ^^ (I totally forgot to post my review it's been a year and found this when clearing out my notes)

I want to get V-line done soon, would come back to Girin again ^^ Hope this helped someone!!!

Lower Eyelid Surgery Review – 1 Month Post-Op
Before the surgery, I had very noticeable eyebags under both eyes, with the right side sagging more than the left. It made me look constantly tired and older than I felt. The sagging skin around my lower eyelids really affected my confidence, and I was ready for a change.

1 Week Post-Op:
The first week was mostly about managing swelling and bruising, which was expected. Both eyes looked puffy, and there was some soreness near my cheeks, especially in the first couple of days. Luckily, cold compresses helped a lot, and by the end of the week, the discomfort had already started to fade.

2 Weeks Post-Op:
By the second week, my stitches had been removed (on day 7), and the healing was clearly progressing. The bruising was much lighter, although I still had some swelling in the lower eyelids. There was a bit of asymmetry in the healing process—one side was recovering a bit faster—but that’s normal and not a concern. The incision sites were slightly pink but looked healthy overall.

1 Month Post-Op:
Now, at the one-month mark, the transformation is incredible. My under-eye area looks so much smoother and firmer. The eyebags are completely gone, and my face looks much more refreshed and youthful. I still feel a little tightness and mild soreness now and then, and some occasional itching as things continue to heal—but that’s part of the normal recovery. Overall, I feel so much more confident and happy with the way I look.

Beyond the results, I can’t say enough good things about the clinic. The English-speaking staff were amazing—very kind, professional, and genuinely thoughtful throughout the whole process. My translator made sure I understood everything during the consultation and surgery planning. The doctor took the time to really listen to my concerns and preferences and explained the surgical plan clearly, which made me feel at ease.

As a bonus, the clinic offered me complimentary full-face Botox after the procedure, which was such a nice touch! The clinic itself was spotless and very hygienic, and the aftercare instructions were clear and easy to follow. They were also very responsive via WhatsApp whenever I had questions after the surgery. What impressed me most was that they even suggested a follow-up appointment during my next visit to Seoul, showing how much they care about long-term results.

I’m honestly so happy with both the outcome of the surgery and the entire experience with the clinic. I’d absolutely recommend them to anyone considering lower eyelid surgery—especially if you’re traveling from abroad!

I had breast augmentation surgery at Girin Plastic Surgery in February 2025, and I wanted to share my experience for anyone considering the same. I initially contacted the clinic via WhatsApp in November 2024 and received a prompt reply of the booking process. I sent over pre-op and inspiration photos. When I arrived in Korea, I was able to complete all my pre-op testing on the same day. The consultant was knowledgeable and supportive, and my English translator was there throughout the process.

Dr. Song Jae Yong was professional and direct he helped me understand what size and shape would best suit my frame and health, taking my chest diameter into account. I tried on different implant sizers, which made me feel confident in the final decision.

The surgery day went by quickly, and although I was nervous, I felt well taken care of.
Recovery was manageable pain was about 4/10 in the first couple of days, and while there was some tightness and discomfort from the pressure, it gradually subsided.
I took the prescribed medication, wore my compression band as instructed, and walked daily to help with swelling.
Two and a half weeks post-op, I started to see the implants settle (“drop and fluff”), and by the one-month mark, they were beginning to feel more natural, though still slightly firm.
I used both scar cream and silicone scar tape, and thankfully, experienced no complications.

Overall, I’m very happy with how everything turned out. The implants look proportionate to my frame, and I’m excited to see the final results as they continue to settle in the coming months. I really appreciate the care I received and would recommend Girin to others considering breast augmentation in Korea currently I am in my first month and have more to see the full results.

Additionally, Girin Plastic Surgery offers the option for a guardian to watch the surgery via CCTV, which gave me extra assurance. I heard that some hospitals may use shadow doctors, but with this option, my guardian could verify the procedure in real time. This really gave me peace of mind!

One advice I could give is that you should be prepared with what you want for a more smooth consultation online and in person.

I recently had rhinoplasty and lower blepharoplasty at Girin Plastic Surgery with Dr. Jeon Ji In, and I’m so happy with the results so far!

What I Wanted:
I wanted my nose to look a bit slimmer and naturally lifted, and my under-eye area to look less puffy and tired. I mentioned this to Dr. Jeon, and she really took the time to listen to my concerns and recommend the best approach.

Doctor’s Advice:
She pointed out that my nose bridge was actually a nice height, but I had a small bump that made the tip look a bit droopy. She suggested shaving down the bump and lifting the tip a bit for a smoother, more refined shape. She also recommended bulbous tip correction and alar base reduction to help make my nose look slimmer overall.

For my eyes, she said lower blepharoplasty would be the best way to reduce the puffiness, and she also noticed that my left double eyelid was a bit lower than the right. To balance them out, she suggested lifting the left side a bit and doing ptosis correction to even out the muscle strength.

Recovery So Far:
I’m still a bit swollen, but I can already see a big difference. My nose looks more defined, and my under-eye area is so much smoother and less puffy. I feel like I look way more awake and refreshed now!

Something to Keep in Mind:
I did have to wait a bit longer than expected for my consultation, which was a little frustrating at first, but I understand that Girin Plastic Surgery really takes the time to make sure each patient is fully heard and understood. It actually made me feel a lot more confident, knowing they aren’t just rushing people through the process.

Facial feminisation (FFS) with Girin Plastic surgery Korea
31 year old mtf Review 2 months post op

I am a 31 year old trans woman from Australia and decided to start looking at my available options in Korea as the options for FFS in Australia are severely limited and travelling to somewhere like America would be well over 100k for me.

To have a look at potential places that could perform the surgery for me and their results I used reddit, purse forum, Gangnam Unnie and Sungyesa. I looked at numerous plastic surgery places in Korea and made a list of who I liked,  however Girin particularly stood out to me as they had really nice before and after pictures.

I contacted Girin through whatsapp and sent some pictures of myself expressing what I wanted to have feminised and my particular areas of concern and they gave me recommendations on what they thought would be best. During my consultation the translator and surgical representative were very knowledgeable and gave me great advice. I expressed to them what I wanted and they were able to convey my needs to the Doctors. I also didn’t feel pressured into having any extra unnecessary procedures, I was actually recommended to not have one of the procedures I wanted and to come back at a later time as this would give me better results, which gave me confidence the doctors were looking out for my best interests.

Procedures I had:

Square jaw contouring + chin reduction with Dr Lee Seung Ryong

Neck liposuction and plastysma muscle tightening to address any skin laxity from the Jaw contouring with Dr Lee Seung Ryong

Rhinoplasty with Dr Jeon Ji-in

and 5 point forehead/brow lifting using endotine with Dr Jeon Ji-in

Overall I am very happy with my results! I feel so much more confident going out in public and I no longer feel as though I get any odd looks from strangers, I could pass before but I would still get some strange looks every now and again, however this doesn’t happen anymore. My features look so much more softer and feminine now compared to before. I still have quite a bit of swelling in my neck and nose tip however it can take up to a year sometimes longer to see the final full results and I tend to swell badly after surgery.

One thing I would recommend for anyone going to Korea is to take someone with you or look into any available nursing services! I went by myself and the recovery was very intense! Especially the first 3-4 days. Also if you have a Dr who is able to prescribe you some good pain relief before you go and you are able to have clearance to bring it into the country do that as the pain relief I was given was not very effective.

I feel like Dr Lee Seung Ryong and Dr Jeon Ji-in went out of their way to make me look feminine and beautiful, during my consult with them they were very attentive and made me feel like they cared about the end result and that my opinions mattered. I had had some other consultations with different clinics before that were bad however the translator, surgical rep and doctors  at Girin all made me feel very reassured. If you have pictures of someone with your desired face shape or features that you like or edits of yourself, definitely bring these along! I did this and they printed them out for reference during my surgery day.

Overall I am very happy with my results and cant wait to keep seeing the improvements in my face as each month goes by. If you have any questions, please reach out to me! I will update this thread with more pictures as I progress.

I wanted to get liposuction on my arms for a while and reached out to several clinics before travelling to Seoul. Girin Clinic was very quick to respond and answered all my questions which factored into my decision as other clinics didn't answer sometimes at all. Girin PS was also the only clinic that did a pre-op inbody check, blood test, ECG, urine test, and chest x-ray before surgery, so I felt safe with them.
Travelling from out of country, I wanted to decide on a clinic before arriving so I sent a deposit and booke my surgery. I appreciated that they had an entire team of English translation staff, and they arranged transportation to and from the airport for me.

I have had plastic surgery before in my country and in Seoul, so I knew what to expect for pain level and preparation. I surprisingly felt no pain in my arms when I woke up and because I was travelling alone, I was permitted to stay at the clinic for several hours after I woke up to ensure I would be ok. They were a little worried about me but called me a taxi and made sure I got to my hotel safely. If I can make one recommendation it would be to bring a guardian if you can!

The anesthesia was the worst part for me: I was sick until the next day and had a sore throat for about 5 days. For the first few days, I walked a lot but had some swelling in my hands and abdomen (normal!), but just unnerving to see. After 3 days, they checked my incisions, and after 7 days the stitches were removed, however the staff at Girin PS were available to assist me anytime for questions or concerns. I was surprised as well that I had next to no bruising which was great. Even being alone, I was able to move my 2 suitcases around Seoul with no problem, and the compression garment was made to fit me while I was in surgery, so it didn't hurt or pinch me (which can happen when the garment is not custom made to you).
*It has been 5 months now since my surgery and my scars are not noticeable at all and my arms look a lot more toned in general now. I love the result!

Now that I’m one month post-op, I’m incredibly happy with the results. Everything looks very natural and truly suits my face. It’s clear that the doctor took great care to personalize the procedure to my features and goals. I genuinely couldn’t be happier with how things turned out.

Experience has been great. I’m on day 5 post rhinoplasty and chin lipo suction and have had a very pleasant experience. Everyone is kind and patient and I have felt very comfortable with the whole experience and with the English translators.

I got 360 degree leg liposuction at girin plastic surgery in November 2024 and I wanted to share a detailed review month by month about my experience and encourage those who think about doing the same kind of surgery:)

On the day of the surgery I had to come early and I couldn’t eat or drink 12 hours before surgery. I got anesthesia and the only one thing I remember is closing my eyes and then opening them when everything was done. After the surgery I got transported to a resting room where I laid down for around an hour and after that I was ready to go home. I got medicine that I had to take for 1 week. I couldn’t use stair for a month or so because my legs did hurt and walking was a bit of a problem for the first week but after that it was only getting better.
First 2 weeks my legs were really swollen and bruised - but that’s very normal. I had to wear leg compression for 2 months for better results and that was the hardest part of it all because it was very tight.

Second month went on very fast, since it was winter I didn’t really have to worry about my legs being swollen because I could freely wear baggy clothes so I didn’t feel like they were bigger in size (because they were swollen they were a little bit bigger in size than before surgery) I got consultation with the doctor and everything was healing well. My skin texture was getting better but my legs still hurt especially while touching them. I had a problem shaving for the first 2 months.

In third month swelling slowly started to wear off so I could see a little bit of results already. There was still nothing specific and I couldn’t see much of a change yet but that’s completely normal. Usually, it takes 6 months for the swelling to wear off but for some people, it even takes a year to see full results. Every body is different and as for me, I am one of those people who will have to wait 1 year for full results

In fourth month my legs started slowly developing thigh gap. My have very muscular legs naturally so I don’t think they will ever be ‘skinny’ but I’m glad that they don’t look like balloons anymore. I was able to buy new pair of pants that are more tight because I lost around 3/4cm in my thighs. The inner swelling is still visible and my legs were still very hard but they didn’t hurt anymore.

Fifth month. I lost another 1cm in my legs. At times I thought they got a little bit bigger again but I think that was because I got a little bumps around thigh gap. I got a consultation on that and doctor said it’s normal and that it will go away but I need to give it a little bit more time. My legs don’t hurt at all anymore, even during touch and I can freely do anything I want. Running, jumping, lifting etc.

Right now I’m in my 6th month and there is another slight difference. I noticed that I start developing more thigh gap, this is the area where my legs are swollen inside the most so I can see that month by month swelling slowly wears off. I think I lost up to 5 or 6cm in my legs. I also saw a photo before and after 6 months so there is definitely a big difference. I have to wait another 6 months for full results and I can’t wait for it!

Anyway, I highly recommend getting leg liposuction at girin plastic surgery! It’s a very professional clinic and they have very well developed English speaking staff, and as I heard, they also have multilingual speaking staff so everyone will be fine:) I also recommend getting any other procedures, not necessarily plastic surgery because they provide many of them!
