A: Yes, 100%. The entire capsule as well as all inflamed or abnormal tissue must be removed as well. The capsule is what holds the silica or gel bleed.
A: Capules do start to form shortly after augmenting. Although, there is no set time frame of when they do. It can very from patient to patient but I have had patients that have formed capsules within weeks after the augmentation.
A: Age is never an issue for an explant. The biggst factor would be your health.
I have treated many women in the older age group. It is very common to see women in th age group of 65-80 in my practice.
A: The cost of explant will vary depending on the physician you choose, the state you are in, as well as the experience. Please do your research to find a physician that is willind to take their time and do a proper explant. get a few opinions.
A: The sooner the better and within days if needed. The capsule that forms around the implant starts to form within weeks. The goal would be to get them out before the capsule forms.
