I decided to try HALO primarily for fine lines that I didn't want to use Botox/Dysport on (forehead, 11's, crows' feet, "tech neck", etc.). I was not prepared for how painful the procedure was, even with numbing cream and taking a heavy duty prescription painkiller as prescribed by the doctor. I don't know how folks can tolerate doing a series of HALO treatments. The nurse used the laser to go over and over each part of my face/neck/chest, alternating vertical and horizontal passes. The early passes weren't too bad but by the later passes it felt like she was slicing my skin off. After she moved on to the next area, the area just done was throbbing and felt like it was on fire. I'm about two hours post-procedure and the treated areas now feel warm but not burning like they did immediately afterward. Updated on 1 Mar 2021: I had my HALO on Friday afternoon and by Saturday morning my face had swollen up so much that I had trouble seeing. My husband was shocked by how horrible I looked. Even icing it and taking an antihistamine didn't help. Sunday morning I was still a bit swollen when I woke up but it went down with icing and an antihistamine. By Sunday afternoon I could definitely see MENDS and some flaking. I did a vinegar soak and that helped a bit. Today (Monday) my skin looked bronzed from all the MENDS. Feels very rough even covered with a thick layer of CeraVe. This morning I had to take my son to preschool so I slathered on some high SPF broad spectrum tinted sunscreen. With the sunscreen on, my face looked presentable enough, especially with a sun hat and mask. I will be glad once I am able to exfoliate the old, dead skin off and see whether I get any of the "HALO glow" Updated on 3 Mar 2021: I'm now 5 days post-procedure and look fairly normal with tinted sunscreen on. My bare skin is very red and flaky. I am also starting to get breakouts on my chest though not my face or neck. I can see from where my skin is red that the laser didn't get close enough to my eyes to treat the crows' feet. So if that is your biggest concern, HALO may not be the best treatment for you. I'm considering going back to the aesthetician who did plasma pen on my forehead to do the crows' feet and under eye areas. I don't regret trying HALO as judging from the amount of MENDS I had, there was a lot of sun damage lurking below my skin's surface (especially on my neck & chest). It's way too soon to see any impact of the HALO on collagen building but I am hopeful that it will help with that too. Updated on 4 Mar 2021: My face and neck are clear but my chest has a ton of acne. I don't normally have breakouts there so I'm guessing it's "skin purging". I bought some of those acne patches with salicylic acid to see if that helps them go away. Updated on 10 Mar 2021: My husband rarely comments on the results of procedures/treatments I have done but the other day he told me that my skin looked really good. I do think my lines are softer and overall I look "refreshed". Still have some lingering breakouts on my chest but otherwise good.
I just started asking questions and wondering what kind of options I have to look younger. I decided to do filler for my nasal fold lines. I saw Abby at Be Clinical today. She is great! She used the cannula technique and i bearly felt anything. I got 1 syringe of vollure xc to nasal folds. When I was done and I looked at my camera on my phone. I was impressed at how quickly I saw results. She mentioned there might be swelling, so to give it some time. I also didn't bleed which means no bruising is expected, yay! I will go see her in two weeks for filler to my lines from my mouth to my chin. I can't wait!!
to start off, i’m 21 f 5ft about 106lb. i started looking into kybella after seeing all weight gain go straight to my face. after seeing good feedback i decided to book a consultation. my injections are scheduled on 11/2 and i begin taking arnica two days geforce as instructed. i’m numbed about an hour before then injected with two vials mixed with lidocaine. the process was very pain free and everything felt fine. she massaged me arnicare gel and iced the area. i’ve been continuing this aftercare at home. today is now 11/16 and i’m starting to worry. i noticed a few days ago my neck got worse after looking like it was getting better. the area is incredibly tender and huge. i woke up this morning feeling very uncomfortable. even having my blanket brush over the area felt just a little painful i suppose. i’m not sure how to describe the feeling. it kind of feels like slight zaps. even as i’m writing this i can feel it. this is a new sensation to me and i’m noticing it’s mostly coming from the bottom area. based on other experiences i’ve read, im very aware that it’s too soon to see results. i’m more concerned about how the area changed for the worse within a week or so. i went from bullfrog to less swelling to painful bullfrog. is this normal ? also i haven’t seen much people complain about pain. i was painless until today. i’m getting a bit paranoid reading these horror stories of those whose face permanently look like mine after kybella due to nerve damage. looking to see what others have to say before reaching out to the injector since it’s only been two weeks. will keep posted. Updated on 19 Nov 2019: looks like it's gone down just a bit but still very tender. massages help a bunch. i really can't wait for it to go away! wonder if it’ll be less noticeable by Thanksgiving. Updated on 21 Nov 2019: feeling much better! i’ve been massaging it 2x day with arnicare, morning & night. i’ve noticed that if i massage right before bed i wake up a lot less bullfroggy. definitely been helping. the lump is still there but less noticeable. if looking straight, i can barely notice the mass under my chin. my side profile is another story.. slowly but surely. :)
This review is for the clinic and the procedures I had there. I had a lower thread lift and Sculptra injections with Abby Villeruel, R.N. extraordinare.. I initially only was going to have the thread lift to see if my jowls could be smoothed out a little, and Abby looked at me and said what really ages a face is the lack of volume in the upper face especially the temples and how Sculptra would really make a difference. She really is an artist and you can tell how much she enjoys what she does and making sure it's done to her satisfaction no matter how long it takes. The thread lift did help lift my jowls but with the amount of sagging I have, a lower face lift would have benefited me more but is not an option for me at this time. I have seen photos of the patients who have had the thread lift with Abby and they came out beautifully. I will continue to have Sculptra maintenance because of its longevity and how it builds your own collagen as well as Botox/Dysport injections.. Be Clinical has a lot of new technology like Halo, PRP, and other edge cutting technology along with primary medical care with Dr. Frie. Every person who works at the clinic is warm, welcoming and very accommodating.
