So, I’d like to introduce myself to you dolls as Tawana4372 (see by bbl journey under Real Self bbl section). I had lipo/fat transfer done 11/20/15 by Dr. Hasan (Vanity Cosmetics), however, at the 6 month mark of my recovery, I discovered an area of fat above my belly button that didn’t retract. Before I even began contemplating if I would want to have any more surgery, I began working with a personal trainer 4 months post lipo recovery but after 3 months in the gym, my trainer and I both agreed that working out was only toning my abs, not tightening the fat, so I ventured out in Atlanta visiting several spa and skin care facilities in search of skin tightening treatments. I tried multiple skin tightening treatments but to my avail none worked, so I sat down with hubby and shared again my displeased look and he to my surprise he calmly agreed that I could seek medical advice on resolving my problem area. So, I met with 2 area cosmetic surgeons to seek professional advice and both recommended either a mini or floating tummy tuck; so I started my research and began watching you tube video’s and said to myself, would these really solve my problem, removing the fat above my belly button? So I decided to gain a 3rd opinion and one of my friends that I connected with through my bbl journey suggested that I speak with her surgeon, Dr. Darryl Blinski (Blinski Plastic Surgery, Miami FL). I emailed Dr. Blinski using his personal email address and within 15 minutes later, he contacted me on his personal cell phone in between surgeries. We viewed the video of my body together via cell that I forwarded him and he then made his recommendation that because my fat was above my belly button and because Dr. Hasan had removed all fat from my lipo, I would indeed need a Skin Only Tummy Tuck with full muscle repair. He then began saying everything that I had been questioning before with the other surgeons I had met with and before I could even tell him what 2 prior recommendations had been given to me. It was at that moment, I knew this was the surgeon for me so I discussed with hubby that we were again heading to Miami. Dr. Blinski was also able to fit me in as well on a date that worked better for me, November 18th 2016 (although he stays booked), so I made my payment securing my date, booked our flights, housing was secured (with my friend who is also having surgery on the same day with Dr. Blinski at Miami Escape), car reservation made; so off we will go again in November to MIA. We will spend our first 3 days recovering at Miami Escape and then the next 3 days at a Condo at the Marriott Villa in the Miami Doral area, where hubby will take the wheel and assist us. I will have drains and most likely if I am still draining, I will return to Atlanta and later have then removed. I have purchased all supplies and am spending this time taking my Geritol, Folic Acid, B-12 and Vitamin C all trying to ensure my CBC levels are all sufficient for my October blood test. All though I am not new to Real Self, I am new to this particular forum so I welcome all feedback. Anything you dolls can share about preparing, what to expect, what supplies I should definitely need, what I should expect for my recovery (w/drains) etc., I am all ears and if I can share anything about my prior bbl/lipo journey, feel free to ask or visit my BBL profile (Tawana4372). Thank you so much and looking forward to connecting with you ladies.. Updated on 18 Oct 2016: Well, here I am dolls, I have reached the 30 day count down; TT is 30 days from today! I am (WE are to include sx buddy) are scheduled for labs tomorrow, my EKG is scheduled for Monday, Oct 31st. Supplies have been purchased, flights booked for hubby & I, RH and Resort has been paid, surgery paid....time to pack soon and most importantly I get to share this journey with my surgery sis/buddy Azzzfor2015, looking forward to this mini vacation with her, we will both be in pain but we can laugh through it together, I have done so much research on preparing for this tummy tuck so I am welcoming it with open arms, my only caveat is just praying that the scar/belly button recovery is smooth, so any tips on ensuring all is well with that, I do welcome them dolls, PLEASE share. For those that are going through any future surgeries, feel free to read back on my bbl journey, I hope you are still able to gain some valuable information from it, those that are recovering, take it easy and may all you continue to be safe. Will update in a couple of days with lab results. Kisses to you all... Updated on 20 Oct 2016: Jacklyn from Dr. Blinski's office just informed me that I have been cleared. All levels are normal. Great news to receive. Just sharing this update with you dolls, happy healing to you and and good luck to those that are nearing their special day. Updated on 25 Nov 2016: Surgery Day Friday: Began at 8a, ended around 1p, Dr. Blinski is a true professional. He advised me that I had fibrosis in my abdomen, which was a complete surprise to me, so he removed it all, did 3 layers of muscle repair, gave me a new belly button and completed the tuck. See pic 1. Day 1 Saturday: Recovery was tough, mainly the muscle repair which is accompanied with a daily backache which is a result of not being able to stand straight up. However, the pain med I was given (dilaudid) was heaven sent. Dr. Blinski cleared me to shower today so that was so rewarding. I sat in the shower and was able to allow my sutures to get wet as well. Blow dried the sutures after my shower, was told to not put anything on them or the belly button so I did not. We (sx sister & I) had our first post op as well, I was in awe of how my body was forming, just seeing no more excess skin is an amazing feeling. Day 2 -Day 4: Recovery is going well. Drain came out involuntarily and by that I mean, when his assistant was putting on my faja, as the faja was being pulled up, the stitch popped that was holding in the drain so of course that meant it had to be removed 2 days early; because of this little mishap, that meant I had to immediately begin massages so massage time it was. I received 3 while in Miami. The muscles repair and back aching are still the 2 most uncomfortable pieces of recovery. See second pic. Day 5: Had my final post op, was cleared to return back home. Flight was a breeze, no complaints. Once home, hubby helped me shower and in the bed I went. Was exhausted but happy to be back on my bed. Day 6 Happy Thanksgiving: My Thursday was good, was finally able to eat a full meal. Recovery is going fine, religiously doing my massages and wearing my ab board. Both navel and tummy incision are doing well. Both about 75% healed, I'm hoping I can begin using my Embrace Scar Therapy at some point to help with diminishing the incision scar. I will insert my belly button plug at 1 week post op as a precaution to not allow my now cute belly button to close. Day 7: Today marks 1 week post op. I'm feeling so much better. Today my hubby took me to Walmart and to Red Lobster, I didn't over due it at either, I walked independently and directly to the vacuum cleaner area, walked back to the garden area, completed my purchase and then departed for lunch. Lunch was nice as well, just being out and not cooped up in the house. I'm feeling pretty well other than that, back still aching but today it's tolerable. I'm no longer on any meds, just still taking my antibiotics. I will take more pics over the weekend for you. That's it for today, feel free to review my IG page also Blinski_111816 Happy healing to you all and for those approaching, good luck to you all, these journeys are REAL. Kisses to you all. Updated on 12 Dec 2016: Hi dolls..just giving you ladies an update. Just met my 3 week mark of my tummy tuck. I am now able to stand completely upright although I still try to not stand so straight just to continue to keep less tension on my scar, I keloid so it's very important to watch the healing process of any incision that I get. I have began to apply Embrace Scar Therapy on the incision just to flatten the ends and to continue to make the scar as non existent as possible. I'm still doing my self massages twice a day and lymphatic massages twice a week. My stomach is at its flattest (in the am), more swelling at the end of the day since I'm more active as I've returned back to work. This recovery is at least 6-12 months but I'm truly hoping that by month 3, I have reached a significant point of having a small waist. I was 31" pre sx, I'm 28" currently so I'm shooting for at least 26/27" by the end of this recovery. I'm dedicated to my D'Prada faja and have plans on having it altered tomorrow, taking it in at least 2" on each side. My personal massage therapy consist of arnica oil, Penetrex for inflammation and bio oil for my stretch marks and skin discoloration around my belly button. My belly button has healed nicely but I still watch it as I still feel one or 2 more stitches in it. The muscle repair is still existent but not as bad, thank the Lawd for that. Other than that, feel free to ask me any questions and happy healing to you dolls or good luck on your upcoming sx. Might I add that Dr. Blinski is the BEST; his review will be up soon. Updated on 12 Jan 2017: All is well dolls, TT recovery is moving right along. Still lots of swelling but my therapy is amazing and I couldn't enjoy it more. I'm receiving therapy at a local spa here in the Roswell, Ga area and Nena is the bomb.com. She uses multiple therapeutic techniques that is really allowing my body to contour smoothly. My TT scar & new belly button have healed completely, I'm using Bio Oil and cocoa butter on them daily to help lighten the scars, slow process but all is moving along as to be expected, no complaints. I'm wearing my faja 23/7 and have no plans to ditch it, I usually remain in it for 6 or more months (which is what I did after my bbl a year ago). My muscle repair is about 80% gone, still have slight discomfort when I attempt to sleep on my stomach at night. I haven't started working out yet simply because of the muscle repair but I hope to start very soon. I continue to have my faja altered every 2 weeks, at least 2" on each side or more. Waist now is currently 27", hoping to get it to at least 25". Other than that, I'm very satisfied thus far and hoping my body will contour even more over the next few months. Dr. Blinski is the best and I couldn't appreciate him more; he listened and gave me what I ultimately wanted. Good luck to those future dolls and happy healing to those that have had sx. Patience is the key all while compressing! Updated on 9 Feb 2017: Hi sisters, I wanted to pass through and update you ladies with my current progression mark. I updated my IG so I'm updating RS also, can't forgot about the path that started this journey. Well, I'm not working out, I'm still in my faja 23/7, still getting my weekly massages and still eating healthy. Currently, I'm 36DD-26.5-46, hoping to lose another inch from my waist. I walk 3 miles a day (weather permitting) and plan to start at the gym soon. While working out, I wear an Ann Cherry Flex Fit Waist Shaper Belt (as shown, size XS), so far I do love it. It helps train my waist continuously while working out. I still swell through my abdomen but that's expected until roughly month 6, so I have no intent to retire my faja, swelling means more progress being made, body still contouring. Other than that dolls, all is well. Attaching another pic taken at my 9th week mark also. Anywho, just passing through to say hi to you lovely ladies. God Bless You and good luck or happy healing, which ever part of this journey you may be on. Kisses to you...... Updated on 7 Jul 2017: I'm so engaged in my Instagram (Blinski_111816) platform that I've been neglecting Real Self platform so I wanted to pass through to tell you dolls that all is progressing well. I'm in the gym now, not as much as I liked to but at least 2 days a week I'm an effort to tone my abdomen. Current measurements are 36dd - 27.5" waist - 48" hips/butt. I still sleep in my faja and have my massages done monthly with Nena Spa LLC, in Roswell, Ga; if anyone is in need of a full service massage therapist, NeNa is the best, DM me on IG and I will help you contact her, she's the best there is. Well that's it for now, wish I could get my breast lifted (all natural) but hubby says no; so I guess I'll find a doctor who can do them on a lunch break (wink wink). Take care ladies, for those recovering, Kee pushing through and for those that are nearing time, you're in my prayers. You will be just fine. Kisses!
So this BBL journey has been a long road. I've lost deposits and some money but while I would have loved to go with Dr. Davoudi after doing some more research on Duran, Lorente, Fisher, and Ortega I decided that it is safer and wiser to go with Dr. Daryl Blinski at Blinski Plastic Surgery. He had lots of pictures of his BBL, plastic surgeon board certified, tons of experience, and great reviews on real self. The coordinator Jaclyn Interian answered all of my questions and put me at ease. Surgery includes one lymphatic massage, one faja, and I am also buying the bbl pillow for 129.00. Pre-op 4/20. And I'll be getting my labs here in Georgia and then stay two weeks in Miami. Super Excited! Updated on 18 Apr 2016: So today I had my pre op with Dr. Blinksi and the staff was amazing. Very professional, and Dr. Blinski was very funny and professional. I bought my bbl inflatable pillow (125) a pop, paid the remaining 5,000, got my scripts, and did my labs with a lab place they work with for 57 dollars. I will have my surgery Thursday at 8:00 AM, go in at 6:00 AM. The nurse took pictures from different angles this is just one of the them of the back. I'm looking for projection so since my big areas are abdominal he will do upper ab, lower ab, flanks, and cocyx. Wish me luck! Updated on 18 Apr 2016: UGH, goodbye to this body hello to my new body on Thursday! Updated on 20 Apr 2016: So today is the day, surgery at 6AM. Nervous as hell, on top of that I have this cold that came out of nowhere. Ready to get this over with, and focus on recovery. Please say a prayer for me today and for the surgeon that will be operating on me. Updated on 28 Apr 2016: Good morning dolls, so reschedule day is here. I have no cold, no fever, didn't drink or eat anything after 9pm last night so I think I'm covered. Nervous about the pain after, and not being able to sit for so long. With a little one it's definitely going to be a challenge but I got this. Please say a prayer for me as I go under the knife. I pray for a successful surgery. I will keep you all posted. Positive vibes. Love, peace, and light. Updated on 29 Apr 2016: Went well, lots of pain. Updated on 30 Apr 2016: Day 2 lots of pain. Feel like I've been hit by a Truck. Updated on 2 May 2016: Had my post up today. Took the faja off and showered that was rough. Thought I was going to pass out. My body felt raw sensitive to the touch. No fever or chills. Still can't keep anything down puking up water, gatorade, clear liquids, crackers etc. Saw my butt it looks high, big, and crazy. Lots of swelling. I'll post pics soon. If you're going to do this be fully prepared because it's tough. Dr. Said my butt will fluff out and fill up naturally around 3 months. Said my results were phenomenal. Updated on 5 May 2016: Took a shower felt great, still sore and achy. Feeling better than before, keeping fluids down which is God sent. Booty is still swollen and round though. Updated on 7 May 2016: Today felt somewhat normal. Moved around. Not as much pain, ate a little. Pineapples helped. Lots of water. Still swollen. Updated on 15 May 2016: Recovery is hard for a bbl. I still hurt like crazy, my butt hurts like hell still hard, my body hurts, my face gets swollen, my hands get numb, and I'm so sore. It's no joke can't wait to be totally healed. Updated on 17 May 2016: So, I've had severe swelling in my leg since the surgery and shortness of breath. Today it got so bad went to the ER and I have two blood clots in my right and left lungs. Now I'm in ICU on blood thinners. Blood clots are common after surgery apparently. So guys know that surgery is real business. Pray for me please. Updated on 22 May 2016: Hey dolls, I'm out of the hospital as of yesterday. Getting stronger. I'll be on blood thinners for a few months but the blood clots won't be traveling. I can see my body looking great even with the swelling. So Dr. B did a great job. Just take every precaution after surgery and wear your stockings if you're getting on a plane right after. Thank you all for the prayers and we'll wishes. Updated on 25 May 2016: Here's a pic of my body, my butt is getting softer. Updated on 28 May 2016: Here's pics of lipo on my abdomen. Updated on 4 Jun 2016: Make sure you wear your garments at all time dolls Updated on 7 Jun 2016: Less swelling, but is softer, less sore. Updated on 28 Jul 2016: Hey dolls, just checking in. Been MIA busy but doing well. Booth is healing nicely. Health getting better. Hope you all are well. Updated on 28 Jul 2016: Pixs Updated on 29 Jul 2016: Just some pics. Updated on 29 Jul 2016: So even with everything I went through after the surgery I'm happy with my results. Ladies, please make sure you walk at least 15 minutes after the surgery to prevent clots. Don't just jump on the plane as this can cause blood clots. If you notice severe edema in your leg that won't go down go immediately to your local ER! Most importantly stay off your butt for at least a month as not to damage the fat tissue. Recovery is long and hard so be mentally prepared. Good luck! Updated on 30 Jul 2016: Hey dolls, I forgot to mention that you will get swelling and bloating periodically out of nowhere. Your garment is your best friend. Moreover, try the Arnica tea it works wonders for swelling. The swelling is natural. Updated on 2 Aug 2016: Hey dolls, so it's been three months since surgery and these are things you should know. 1. You will still have lumpy fat patches in areas of your bum, you just have to massage it. 2. Sometimes your fat in your bum will be sore, again light massages and wear your garment. 3. When you first sit it will feel super weird like youre on a jelly ball. It gets better with time. It takes a full year to fully recover so be mentally prepared dolls. Updated on 6 Aug 2016: Pics Updated on 12 Aug 2016: Dr. B really snatched my waist and stomach. BBL! Pardon the nudity. Updated on 12 Aug 2016: He did a great job on my waist and abs. Updated on 8 Sep 2016: Hi dolls, hope you all are doing well. I'm doing well, body is still in tact, my booty is softer and naturally plump and I love my results. I posted some pics. Good luck on your journey. Updated on 8 Sep 2016: More pics Updated on 11 Sep 2016: Hi dolls, I've been getting pic requests so here you go. Updated on 24 Sep 2016: Cakes Updated on 7 Oct 2016: Hey dolls, hope all is well. Here are some updated pics. Updated on 7 Oct 2016: More updated pics Updated on 16 Oct 2016: More pics Updated on 10 Nov 2016: WOW, 6 months flew by fast. I remember when I first got this procedure done I thought I would never get to this point. But I'm so grateful that I am doing well, and I am so happy with my new body. This was the best gift I could have given to myself despite earlier set backs. So thankful to Dr. Blinski and his staff. Now I'm maintaining and keeping up these results by eating right and working out. Good luck on your journey ladies. Updated on 23 Dec 2016: Reindeer games Blinski edition. Updated on 7 Feb 2017: Some updated pics for those who asked. Updated on 6 Mar 2017: It's been long enough April 2016 since my bbl with Dr. Blinski and a part of my left upper but cheek is still discolored, and is hard and gets sore. I have to massage it, and I'm pretty sure it's fat necrosis. I called Blinski office and sent them pics. In the meantime what can I do? Updated on 4 Apr 2017: Hi dolls, I decided to come on here today because I have been seeing way too many deaths involving BBL's and unqualified doctors. I know that price is always an issue when deciding to get cosmetic surgery however, you cannot put a price on your life or your health. You have to do your due diligence and research these doctors. The information is out there so check for deaths, if they are plastic surgeon board certified (not just an MD), check for any malpractice, most importantly stay away from the chop shops in Miami. In addition, once you find a capable surgeon prepare yourself. Meaning prepare for any contingencies i.e. get compression stockings, lovonox prescription shots (in case of clots/to prevent clots), do your lung exercises, and educate yourself on signs of a DVT (clot). Hope this helps. Happy journey!
