This is a 52-year-old woman who is a regional manager with her company and travels throughout Washington, Oregon, Idaho, Montana, and the Western U.S. for her job. She is a frequent flyer and constantly on the go. She has tried exercise and dieting but the inches just would not come off. She wanted to treat excess fat and she has become frustrated with the appearance of her cellulite. She was interested in Smartlipo because of the quick recovery and her ability to return to work within a few days of the procedure. She was also fearful of general anesthesia and was only willing to perform a minimally invasive procedure that would address her saddlebags, the shape of her buttocks, and inner thighs, and improve the appearance of her cellulite. Cellulite is a difficult problem to treat. The dimpled appearance arises from the small connecting ligaments between the skin and muscle. This creates a mattress button effect with the resulting appearance of cellulite. Cellulite is extremely common affecting more than 90% of all women. An added benefit of laser lipolysis is the improvement in the appearance of cellulite. The patient had a total of 1.6 liters of fat removed from the inner and outer thigh and the banana roll (fatty accumulation just below the gluteal crease on the upper posterior thigh). She took only 2 pain pills the night of the procedure. She transitioned the next day to Tylenol and Advil only. These photos show several views before and 6 weeks after Smartlipo laser liposuction. Note the improved appearance of the cellulite throughout. The patient went on the have Smartlipo performed on her abdomen and flanks (3 liters) as a separate procedure only 9 days later.

This patient was not happy with her tummy tuck done by another surgeon.  I did a revision tummy tuck.  I lowered her scar using a bikini incision, did vaser ultrasound liposuction of her abdomen and waist, removed excess skin and re-plicated her abdominal muscles.

Before and after tummy tuck with lipo 360:  This patient demonstrates all 3 components of a standard tummy tuck:  excess skin and fat in the lower abdomen, rectus diastasis, and fat around her waist.  I did a standard tummy tuck with a bikini incision.  3 vector corset muscle plication to flatten her abdomen and cinch in her waist to give her more of an hourglass figure.  I then did VASER ultrasound high def lipo of her waist to give her better contour and a 360 effect.

before and after VASER ultrasound assisted liposuction abdomen/flanks; lipo 360. Liposuction is the most popular plastic surgery procedure with about 350,000 procedure done in 2023. Good candidates for liposuction have normal or near normal weight but have discrete problem areas with discrete pockets of fat. Another charateristic of a good liposuction candidate is skin quality. Younger patients with good skin quality and few stretch marks with little to no overhang or excess skin are the best candidates. Vaser is an ultrasound device that melts fat and tightens tissue making liposuction more precise with less bruising and swelling. In this case I did liposuction with VASER assistance removing about 1.5 from her abdomen and flank areas (Lipo 360).
