This active middle-aged woman presented to our Center with the concerns of heaviness in her upper eyelids, thinning of her midface/cheeks, and mild drooping of her jawline. She stated that she looked tired and sad all of the time due to the overall deflation of most of her face.Her initial exam revealed significantly hooded eyelids to the point where no part of her lid could be seen, deflation of her cheek pads, and mild laxity(looseness) of her lower 1/3 of her face including the jawline.We decided together that the proper plan of action to address her needs would be to perform an upper blepharoplasty, a jawline lift, and to augment her cheeks with her own fat (autologous fat transfer from fat from her abdomen).Under local anesthesia and oral sedation with xanax (no IV or General Anesthesia was needed), all three procedures were performed in one sitting in under 3 hours time.Her results demonstrate significant, and natural, opening of her eyelids, increased volume in her cheeks, and a sharpened and tighter jawline. She was able to return to full/normal activity after 10 days.

Fat Transfer to Face

The patient underwent a high lateral SMAS face and necklift. The SMAS elevation supports the facelift so that their is minimal tension on the skin and enhance the possible longevity of the face and necklift. Along with the face and necklift she also had fat transfer to the face. Fat was transferred tough out the face and temples to restore the volume she has lost over time as we age. The combination of tightening and filling of the face gives her a much more youthful but natural appearance. This pictures show her two month result.

This patient came to visit with me not knowing what could be done for the lines around her mouth. She had heard about laser, but was concerned that it would not help. After taking the time to understand her goals and the components of her aging pattern, I created a treatment plan that consisted of fat transfer to restore volume to her upper and lower non-red lip, combined with fractionated CO2 laser resurfacing to restore collagen in the skin of her non-red lip area. This combination of procedures is my 1-2 punch to undo this complex aging pattern, while still maintaining a natural lip appearance. Most of her recovery took about 7 days. Her after pictures were taken at 3 months.

This patient came to see me regarding the deep lines around her mouth.  Once I came to understand her goals and expectations, I created a treatment plan for her which included fat transfer around the mouth to treat the indented lines and loss of volume. On the same day, I then performed fractional CO2 laser skin resurfacing to the skin around her mouth to achieve a smoother yet natural appearance. Recovery time took about 7-10 days.

This young woman visited our Center with concerns of rapid lower eyelid aging. She was concerned with the perceived bags under her eyes, wrinkled lower eyelid skin, and the loss of volume along the upper cheek area. We decided together to perform fat grafting in her upper cheeks and lower eyelid rims, as well as a fractional CO2 laser treatment for her lower eyelid skin. She is 6 weeks post procedure and only has slight pinkness of the lower eyelid skin (easily covered up with makeup). This plan avoided a more aggressive, and higher risk, lower blepharoplasty procedure.
