And while breast reduction regret is, of course, possible, the majority of patients tend to be thrilled with the results—which might explain why celebrities who’ve undergone the surgery are often inclined to share their experience with fans and followers. With that, here are nine celebrities who’ve opened up about their breast reduction surgery.
Sherri Shepherd
Over the summer, comedian and actress Sherri Shepherd got a breast reduction, and she shared the news during the second season of her talk show. “I wanted to see what it felt like to sleep on my stomach,” Shepherd said in an Instagram Reel, adding that she’d been fielding comments about the size of her breasts for years.
Nicki Minaj
In an Instagram video to promote her song “Barbie World,” rapper Nicki Minaj pointedly panned the camera on her new, noticeably smaller cleavage and wrote “New boobs, who dis” in the comments. The breast reduction has been a long time coming for Minaj. “I’m not gonna lie, somebody did tell me to get my boobs taken off, like a female in the industry,” the rapper recalled on an Instagram Live.
Rachel Recchia
After years of back pain and feeling self-conscious, former Bachelorette Rachel Recchia underwent breast reduction surgery, recounting the moments afterward in an open letter. “The moment I opened my eyes and got off the table, I knew my life had changed—for the better,” she said. “My body felt different. Lighter. For the first time in over a decade, I didn’t have back pain (and I haven’t since).”
Ariel Winter
After spending years hunching and carefully choosing everything from formal dresses to swimsuits, Modern Family star Ariel Winter underwent a highly publicized breast reduction at the age of 17, going from a 32F to a 34D. “I got it for myself. I can’t even really put it into words about how amazing it feels to really feel right,” said Winter in an interview afterward.
Drew Barrymore
Actress Drew Barrymore, who began her career as a child star in the 1980s, had a breast reduction in 1992, when she was a teenager. “When they’re huge, you become very self-conscious. Your back hurts. You find that whatever you wear, you look heavy in. It’s uncomfortable,” she said in an interview several years later.
Kyle Richards
Kyle Richards, one of the stars of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, got a breast reduction last year—only to have Andy Cohen accidentally share the news on an episode of Watch What Happens Live. She handled it with aplomb, noting: “I said, ‘I want smaller boobs and I don’t ever want to wear a bra ever again in my life.’”
Queen Latifah
After a year and a half of mulling it over, rapper and actress Queen Latifah elected to have breast reduction surgery in 2003 as a way to mitigate her back and shoulder pain. “My body grew before I was ready for it—especially when you hadn’t quite figured out really how to rock these things,” she recalled in a later interview, gesturing to her chest. “I was an athlete, playing basketball, and I didn’t have the right bra. I was bouncing all over the place.” However, she’s one of the few to have regrets: Her breasts ended up smaller than she’d hoped, with a DD cup instead of DDD.
Stassi Schroeder
Back in 2018, Vanderpump Rules star Stassi Schroeder shared a photo on Instagram of the scars from her breast lift and reduction surgery, which reduced her breasts to a D cup (from DDD). “Tonight’s episode featured a photo of my body halfway through my breast reduction,” Schroeder wrote, crediting board-certified plastic surgeon Dr. Jimmy S. Firouz. “One of the best decisions I’ve ever made.”
Doja Cat
Earlier this year, rapper Doja Cat posted about her breast reduction (in addition to liposuction) on X. “4 days into recovery right now,” she said, going on to share that she was now a size 32C following the surgery.
