What are your thoughts! I was wondering if this was more than a simple lipoma. Last year I had a lipoma removed from under my breast where my ribs are. Well the surgeon told me back than that it was bigger than he thought. (Doesn't give me much to go on) now about 2 weeks away from a year of the surgery i went to my pcp because its not only back but its just as big. And it's not a small lump it's is almost the length of a banana and the width is the same, and tender to touch.
3 yrs ago first noticed small mass on chest wall on top of a rib. MRI indicated at the time likely PNST, but not definitive and 6mm. Located in musculature, so I am assuming that means deep. Chose to monitor. US indicates It has since grown about 1mm a year. Have made a decision to remove, but am not sure what kind of doctor. Given that it is located in musculature is this suspicious for sarcoma or would a plastic surgeon or general surgeon be able to remove? Is this a simple procedure?
I have a growth now for over 10 years. When I went to the doctor he told me it was a cyst and that I should not worry about it unless it hurts. . I have 2 from trauma to my ribs from my brother jabbing/prodding me unexpectedly; repeatedly when I was 15. Each started where the lowest rib begin and has spread laterally but adjacent to the lowest ribs on each side so they are large and cause discomfort. I'm concerned with bleeding as I do not accept blood should I be worried about death?
An initial attempt was made in doctors rooms to remove the Lipoma on the right but had to be halted once they realised that the Lipoma was attached to my ribs. Eventually both were surgically removed under general anaesthetic, the larger one on the left measuring 9cm x 5cm x 3cm. they were both benign.
I am a 14 year old female and I have had this for 2 years. It is painful and they said it is probably laying on a nerve. I have an appointment with the surgeon on Sept. 21st and I was wanting to know what to expect and what kind of procedure they would do if I needed surgery.
