Derma Roller Overview
- Derma Roller (a.k.a. Dermaroller, Dermarolling, skin roller, or microneedle roller) is a brand name for several available, hand-held devices used around the world for a process known as micro-needling or collagen induction therapy (CIT).
- The Derma Roller concept is that rolling the needles over the skin creates tiny punctures which are supposed to stimulate collagen (a building block of your skin tissue that creates depth in your skin).
- Dermarolling is painful, given the repeated pricking of your skin. Doctors who offer dermarolling may sedate a patient. Recovery could take up to a week due to post-treatment swelling.
