Long Overdue Breast Reduction 34G to 34B

My day finally arrived. I had my reduction surgery on 4/22/21 by Dr Kimberly Lu. The whole process was pretty uneventful. I did need to go through quite the insurance process, which was time consuming. Thanks to Dr Lu’s staff for all the hard work and persistence in keeping things on track. After insurance approval things moved very fast. I was immediately scheduled for surgery and spent the next week and a half getting all the pre-op appointments done. Surgery day went well and I’m anticipating that my final size will be exactly what I was wanting. I had suffered years with large breasts and neck and back pain, therefore I was looking forward to a much smaller breast size. I have been please with my recovery so far and I’ve had very little pain. 2 days of pain meds and now just Tylenol. Dr Lu did put in drains, which I’m thankful for. I’ve had very little swelling and my pain is limited to incision sites. And it’s been very tolerable. I have my first follow up appointment Wednesday. I should have the drains removed then. I haven’t removed my surgical bra to take a peek. I’ll be surprised on Wednesday. I have included a before photo and I’ll add the after photo Wednesday. Updated on 5 May 2021: My healing is going Great! I did have some bruising and inflammation which is to be expected. My nipples seem to be hyper sensitive right now which I anticipate will subside. I’ve had minimal pain since the beginning. Which I’m thankful for. I don’t tolerate pain meds very well, so Tylenol it is. All said, I’m still super happy about my little B’s. Can’t wait to see my final results. Updated on 27 May 2021: 5 weeks post op. Photo updates are 3, 4 & 5 weeks post surgery. Healing is going well. I still have some slight bruising and some tenderness. Looking forward to putting on a new pretty bra next week.

Breast Cancer Gets Me Perky Implants! Issaquah, WA

I am just past a breast cancer treatment; chemo, double skin sparring mastectomy, expanders, and now I have saline implants. This was not the journey I expected and certainly a surprise. I consider myself very lucky as I was referred to Dr. Kimberly Lu, Issaquah Plastic Surgery. She is wonderful! Dr. Lu was the perfect plastic surgeon for me. Like many, she is a perfectionist but she is also honest. She let me know what the risks were and rewards. She answered all my questions with patience and understanding. She also has opinions! She was willing to give me her input and advice. Her practice is small - it's just she and her support staff. She works hard and it shows. My new saline implants look amazing! At 50, I couldn't be happier!

Breast Reconstruction After a Double Mastectomy - Issaquah, WA

After being diagnosed with breast cancer, the decision was if I should do a lumpectomy, mastectomy or a double mastectomy. With all the high value information she gave me, it was easier to decide what was the best for me. She helped me to feel peace and confidence that I was in the right hands. Very professional, but at the same time very human. She does not look at you with a dollar sign in the eyes. She shows respect and comprehension and gives you the impression that you are her most valuable patient. Very kind, with an eternal smile in her face, she makes you feel better regardless of the seriousness of your procedure. Thanks to Dr. Lu and her professionalism, I did not see myself after the main procedure with a deformed or absent breast. She started the reconstruction right there, sharing the room with another Dr. that did the mail procedure. That was such a blessing to me! After a year of that initial process, I feel so well and grateful that I had Dr. Lu to do the reconstruction. She did an amazing work! I absolutely recommend to any one that needs any kind of plastic surgery. Even my other doctor was impressed with her professionalism when shared the surgery room! She is just great! Updated on 7 Jun 2015: The very first time my husband and I met Dr. Lu, we just knew and said each other "she is the one". She is so professional, but very human and compassionate. You never will feel like she is just thinking on how much she will be able to charge to your insurance, but as a patient that needs help, and she gives you all the information you need to make the best decision for you. She is very kind and has a lot of patience taking time to answer your questions and explaining everything in a way you can understand. Having the reconstruction started the same day as the mastectomy helped me a lot in the acceptance process because I did not see myself without breast at any moment. Thank you, Dr. Lu! God bless you for such a great job you did with me, I am very pleased with the results! I totally recommend Dr. Lu to anybody. Blessings!!!

Bilateral Reconstruction - Issaquah, WA

This was a stressful time with a lot of decisions to make, including whether to go with a bilateral mastectomy or not. Dr. Lu was very kind and patient in our consultations, offering options along with the pros and cons. I am so glad I had the opportunity to work with Dr. Lu. From the first consult, I felt that I was in great hands. Dr. Lu cares so much about her patients and drives for the best result for each of us.

Bilateral Breast Reconstruction After Breast Cancer. Issaquah, WA

I was diagnosed with breast cancer. I chose to have a bilateral mastectomy with reconstruction at the time of surgery. I am a MR technologist and was so appreciative of the time Dr. Lu spent researching breast expanders that would allow me to work after the mastectomy. I would highly recommend Dr. Lu to anyone undergoing a similar procedure. She is a highly skilled professional, takes the time to answer all your questions in detail and informs you of positive and possible negative aspects of your surgery. She was always available when I needed to talk with her. Janet (her office staff) is very kind and efficient. My experience with Dr. Lu from mastectomy through the final implants has been a very successful and positive journey. I am so pleased with the results and so grateful that such a highly skilled plastic surgeon as Dr. Lu was there for me.

54 Years Old and Wished I Could Have Done It Years Ago :-) - Issaquah, WA

I am 54 years old and I am 5'2" and a "DD" and I have wanted to get a Breast Reduction for many years due to the weight on my upper body and being self conscious about not being proportioned. I recently decided I was going to proceed with this procedure and I am so glad I did. I could feel the difference immediately after surgery. I am 3 weeks post surgery and I feel amazing! My only regret is that I was not able to get it done much much sooner. The difference in my appearance and confidence is awesome!! I am so looking forward to working out, riding horses and all the other things I love to do without being uncomfortable :-)

Office review: Waste of Time

RUN. Listen to your gut. Awful experience. The front office is the first impression and she was cold and rude. I had an appointment for surgery 4 weeks out and then the doctor canceled on me the week before! She said I should go to a general surgeon but she never even saw me for a consult or photo! What?!!! What a waste of time, I could have gone elsewhere and had the surgery by this time. In the end, if this is the type of practice they run, I am happy to go elsewhere but it is just so unprofessional.
