From the initial consultation I found Mr Gwanmesia to be professional, yet also warm and approachable. He continued to be very invested in my well-being, just as much as he was invested in achieving the results we had agreed upon. I remained informed and put-at-ease before and after surgery, as well as during recovery. He visited me prior to my surgery, and was there straight after I had woken up, offering his comfort and professionalism. He was also only a phone call away when I had an unforeseen minor reaction to post-surgery medication and needed his advice. We met again a week after surgery, to remove the cast and I was thrilled with the results. Mr Gwanmesia had straightened my nose, removed a bump and made the tip slightly smaller (a lot was requested!) but managed to make everything look so natural. I was back at work within 2 weeks of the surgery, and 2 years on I remain delighted with the results. I remember Mr Gwanmesia asking me at a follow-up appointment a question which demonstrates how much he cares about his patients. He asked, ‘most importantly, do you feel more confident now?’ My nose is no longer an overwhelming source of insecurity, and it was important to me that Mr Gwanmesia cared about me as a person the way he did. If you are looking for a surgeon genuinely invested in both your well-being mentally and physically, and who is professional, friendly and talented, then I would strongly recommend Mr Gwanmesia.
I had ethnic rhinoplasty almost two months ago. Dr Ivo Gwanmesia has been very helpful and pleasant throughout this whole experience. He took his time to analyse and understand everything I wanted and has been great at responding to any of my questions regarding the procedure as well as being supportive during after care. I am very pleased with my rhinoplasty results he is highly recommend.
I will not go into too much detail this time in terms of why I wanted to originally get my nose done as the detail is in my first review, but the reason for me wanting to get a revision was not because my original surgeon done a bad job, it was a big improvement from my original nose, but as time went on I noticed my nose lacked the definition I wanted the width was still quite wide and my tip was still bulbous, So I wanted to fix this. With my first nose job I went to the US as I felt that the US specialised in Ethnic noses, but this time round I didn’t want to pay the extra expense and do it alone, also the aftercare when you get surgery in a different county is not as easy. So I decided look for surgeons in the UK, which isn’t easy but I am very thankful that I found Dr Ivo Gwanmesia. I had consulted with him before when I was originally looking for my first surgery but decided to go to the US. I had my surgery on 18th April 2018 and had my cast taken off on 24 April 2018 and I can’t tell you how happy I am with what he has done, the width has been brought in and is no longer ‘pyramid’ shaped and has the definition desired, the tip is less bulbous and my nostrils are also more even. I have had my cast off for 3 days and with swelling and all he has exceeded my expectations and I think it is safe to say I will NOT be doing this again lol. I don’t regret my first decision as he improved my nose but I just wanted to finesse it to make it better, and I feel like if I didn’t go through the first one it may not have turned out so good the second time round lol!! I just need to shout out Dr Ivo because I don’t think there is enough reviews or pictures of his ethnic patients. So if you are in the UK and considering rhinoplasty I would recommend him :-) I will upload pictures shortly x Updated on 2 May 2018: Updated on 7 May 2018: I have added some more pictures for those who have been asking :-)
I had rhinoplasty with Ivo in November 2017, when I first went for my consultation he was very honest with me about how it looked and what Exactly he needed to do. I decided to go ahead with Ivo and I couldn’t be more happy with the results. The cast came of 6 days after the op and I was so shocked at how swollen it was the only thing I would say to future patiences is you have to be really patient. Your not going to see the full shape of your nose untill 3 months after so It was really hard being patient. 6 weeks after the op loads of the swelling went down and I had an amazing side profile. All in all Ivo is honest, great at giving advice, calming nature and takes his time.
Mr. Ivo Gwanmesia is a very talented and knowledgeable surgeon. He has a calm nature and clearly cares about the physical and psychological well-being of those he operates on. Before and after my procedure Mr. Gwanmesia was very supportive and reassuring. I am happy with the results so far.
When I was 8 years old I broke my nose and I was left with an unsymmetrical nose. Additionally I could not breathe through one of my nostrils which affected my breathing. Ever since this incident Ive always hated my profile as it was not symmetrical and there was a large bump visible on my side profile. As soon as I turned 18 I was on the search for a doctor that could change this. I wanted my nose to be symmetrical and for the bump to be removed. Initially I was going to go with Dr Julian De Silva. However when I called the receptionist told me that I would have to wait 3 months for a consultation. The receptionist also told me that the procedure would cost around £10,000 which was out of my budget. Doing some more research that day I came across Ivo Gwanmesia. After doing some background research and reading about Ivo Gwamnesia on real self and on his website I decided to go with him. The consultation was on the same week I called and I found him very professional and caring. As soon as I entered the room he knew exactly what was wrong with my nose and what was needed to do inorder to fix this. He broke down the whole process starting from that day to a year after my procedure. I felt very comfortable with him and I knew he was the doctor I wanted to go with. We booked the procedure that day and he sent me some more information about the procedure . The day before my surgery he called to make sure I was ready for the next day and told me to take tablets for my bruising. The procedure took place at Highgate Hospital and it was an overnight stay. When I arrived the hospital the staff were very friendly and accommodating. A doctor came in and explained what was going to happen as I was going to be put under anestesia. Shortly after Ivo Gwanmesia came and took some pictures then I was taken into the surgery room. I woke up with some pain and not much bruising. The nurses were very nice and helped me with any problems I had. I then went home with my cast and was told I had to wait 10 days for my cast to be removed. Truthfully these days were the worst. I was unable to eat or sleep and the splints gave me headaches and discomfort. But I knew it would be worth it. Ivo Gwanmesia gave me medicine to take for the pain and some antibiotics which eased the pain a little. 10 days later I finally got the cast and splints removed which was not as painful as people said. My nose was extremely swollen however 2 weeks later my nose became less swollen. Since my procedure I have had my week appointment, 1 month appointment , 3 months appointment and 6 month appointment with Ivo Gwanmesia where he checks if everything is fine. I am extremely happy with my nose. The swelling has decreased dramatically and my nose appears to be symmetrical and I can finally breathe through both of my nostrils. I could not have chosen a better plastic surgeon for this. I highly recommend him!
First class treatment from Dr Ivo and of course his team. Finally, a Dr who understood me but more importantly to listened to me. My procedure was rhinoplasty. From start I was scepital but getting to meet and speak with Mr Ivo I gradually began to feel comfortable for him to do my procedure. Very pleasant man with a quite sence of humor. What I liked as well was the communication. Whether a text or phone call even at odd hours Dr Ivo will respond to settle your mind and reasure you. A nose is not just a nose there is more to it. Dr Ivo has excellent knowledge of this as every person is unique dispite their ethinc background and this is vital. My biggest regret is not finding Dr. Ivo the first instance.
Dr Ivo first impressed me with his swift response to my question which precipitated my visit to his office for a checkup following my surgery abroad. Dr. Ivo made me feel comfortable and at ease, despite my reservation about meeting a Surgeon, I was unfamiliar with. You could not doubt his expertise and professionalism, by way of his service and carefully explained things I was unclear about, leaving me with the assurance of returning to him for my round 2 instead of traveling abroad again!
Having had major surgery 12 months ago I can honestly say that I am very happy with the result. The feeling has not yet fully returned to the affected area however Ivo reassured me that this would take between 18 and 24 months to fully recover. I can feel it improving as time progresses. He is an expert in his field and highly professional - he will not carry out a procedure if he is not 100% convinced of it.
I recently underwent a rhinoplasty operation with Ivo and cannot begin to tell you how superb the experience was from start to finish, he is an amazing surgeon who did a fantastic job and I am delighted, from the moment I met him at the consultation I could tell he really cared and was listening to everything I said, the actual operation went very smoothly thanks to his expertise, and I am thrilled with my new nose, thanks Ivo
Hello, Thank you for your question. Are you able to post quarter and profile view photos as well? This will allow better review of your facial structures. Fat injections should help the depression in the lower eyelid areas. I suspect fat can be found on your arms, thighs and tummy areas.
Thank you for your question. This might be caused by the sutures used during the SMAS facelift. Discuss this with your surgeon and see what he or she says.
Hello, Was this sunken area noticeable immediately after surgery, or has it shown up more recently? What technique with regards to the facelift did your surgeon use? If it was a SMAS plication, this dent might have been caused by a stitch. The dent can be corrected with a small amount of fat, or maybe filler. Discuss this with your surgeon!
Good day! When the above procedures are properly executed, they really should last at least a good 10 years. The brow lift should be supported with a device such as endotine, and when paced and secured properly, it does provide very good results
Good day. From the photos you have posted, I believe you will benefit from lower blepharoplasty face and neck lift. Do your research with regards to finding a good plastic surgeon in your area and go for a consultation as a first step. Very best of luck.
