When I was 8 years old I broke my nose and I was left with an unsymmetrical nose. Additionally I could not breathe through one of my nostrils which affected my breathing. Ever since this incident Ive always hated my profile as it was not symmetrical and there was a large bump visible on my side profile. As soon as I turned 18 I was on the search for a doctor that could change this. I wanted my nose to be symmetrical and for the bump to be removed. Initially I was going to go with Dr Julian De Silva. However when I called the receptionist told me that I would have to wait 3 months for a consultation. The receptionist also told me that the procedure would cost around £10,000 which was out of my budget. Doing some more research that day I came across Ivo Gwanmesia. After doing some background research and reading about Ivo Gwamnesia on real self and on his website I decided to go with him. The consultation was on the same week I called and I found him very professional and caring. As soon as I entered the room he knew exactly what was wrong with my nose and what was needed to do inorder to fix this. He broke down the whole process starting from that day to a year after my procedure. I felt very comfortable with him and I knew he was the doctor I wanted to go with. We booked the procedure that day and he sent me some more information about the procedure . The day before my surgery he called to make sure I was ready for the next day and told me to take tablets for my bruising. The procedure took place at Highgate Hospital and it was an overnight stay. When I arrived the hospital the staff were very friendly and accommodating. A doctor came in and explained what was going to happen as I was going to be put under anestesia. Shortly after Ivo Gwanmesia came and took some pictures then I was taken into the surgery room. I woke up with some pain and not much bruising. The nurses were very nice and helped me with any problems I had. I then went home with my cast and was told I had to wait 10 days for my cast to be removed. Truthfully these days were the worst. I was unable to eat or sleep and the splints gave me headaches and discomfort. But I knew it would be worth it. Ivo Gwanmesia gave me medicine to take for the pain and some antibiotics which eased the pain a little. 10 days later I finally got the cast and splints removed which was not as painful as people said. My nose was extremely swollen however 2 weeks later my nose became less swollen. Since my procedure I have had my week appointment, 1 month appointment , 3 months appointment and 6 month appointment with Ivo Gwanmesia where he checks if everything is fine. I am extremely happy with my nose. The swelling has decreased dramatically and my nose appears to be symmetrical and I can finally breathe through both of my nostrils. I could not have chosen a better plastic surgeon for this. I highly recommend him!
