Dr. Carpin is the absolute best. She is so caring and listens to every concern and worry you have. I was very nervous going in and she made me feel so at ease throughout the entire process. I am absolutely in love with my results and wouldn't trust anyone else. She is phenomenal!
I highly recommend Dr. Carpin. I had a breast augmentation and could not be happier with the results. She took the time to explain every detail of the procedure, results and post op expectations. Her bedside manner put me at ease. She even took the time to call my husband the night of the procedure to make sure I was doing well. Her office staff are always willing to answer my questions.
Dr Carpin was amazing she was so down to earth and explained everything vary well and surgery went smoothly and loved that she called to check up with my family the day of and after. Amazing bedside manners. Would highly recommend her to anyone. Loved her
Dr Carpin is amazing! She listened to what I wanted, had a great bed side manner, and did a phenomenal job on my surgery. I couldn't be happier with my choice. Dr Carpin truly cares about her patients and it shows. I highly recommend her!
Dr. Carpin was very thorough and kind throughout the process. It was easy to start the pre-op process and her staff and hospital staff were competent and considerate. My tummy tuck went great and I am so happy with the results! My pre and post procedure pictures can't say enough. I loved Dr. Carpin and will use her again in the future!
I paid for rhinoplasty where I stated multiple times that I wanted to lower my bridge/profile so my nose would not appear so large. Dr. Carpin suggested that I also fix a deviated septum due to my nose curving to the right and she wanted to add a lift to the tip. When I came out of surgery I was in excruciating pain in the nose area but was confused as to why I had no bruising around the eyes. She stated that she did measurements using photos the night before surgery on my nose to face ratio and concluded that it was HER belief that my profile was fine for my face, all she did was cut cartilage inside the tip. She did not touch the bridge at all, which is the only reason I wanted the procedure. The cartilage that she did work on in the tip of my nose did not lift, in fact, it dropped which created an unattractive hump in my nose that was not there before and my columella hangs. The deviated septum remains the same. I told her was not happy with my results at every follow up and she kept insisting it was just swelling. After I was completely healed she admitted that the work she intended to do did not come out like she had hoped and offered a recommendation to a different doctor. She did nothing to compensate for making my nose appear worse that what it did when I went in for a consultation. Updated on 3 Aug 2022: Below are my one year post operation comparison pictures. You can see the hump that was created by the doctor from the side. Also, from the front view you can see how my nose widened due to the cartilage dropping.
I am reporting this incident to: 1) Alert the staff that I need a refund of my $6,425 payment because I have not heard back since my first request on July 6, 2021 and 2) Report Dr Carpin’s erratic and abusive behavior. On the morning of July 2, 2021 I was scheduled for breast augmentation surgery with Dr Carpin. After meeting with all other necessary members of the surgery team and getting prepped for surgery, Dr Carpin came to talk with me and my daughter, Katie, about the procedure. We had a few final questions about the placement of the implant being below or above the muscle. These questions stemmed from the prior appointments I had with her and my subsequent research on the best placement for me. After looking into this further, I found the information she had told me during our consultations was utterly false. Dr Carpin misinformed me about capsular contracture – she said there is far less risk above the muscle, the truth is there is less risk when the implant is placed below the muscle. She misinformed me about the effect of implant placement on mammograms – she said viewing mammograms above and below the muscle are the same, the truth is it’s harder to read the mammogram when implants are placed above the muscle. She misinformed me that an implant above the muscle looks more natural – every resource I’ve read says implants below the muscle are more natural looking. Not to mention I have a very bony chest with little natural breast tissue (I’m an A cup) but she said she could put collagen or fat in my upper chest if needed, I’ve never heard of this. Upon us asking these questions, Dr Carpin became extremely defensive and abusive. She said we disrespected her and did not trust her judgement. She was very forceful and aggressive about me choosing to have my implants put below my muscle. She became more and more vocal, to the point that we could not respond or get a word in. Her outrageous behavior continued when she began reprimanding us, saying things like, if she were a male doctor we wouldn’t question her judgement, that she’s a scientist and an artist and people lately are not respecting her work, that she doesn’t get the respect she deserves. Her comments became even more ridiculous when she started comparing breast augmentation surgery to baking a cake and playing with blocks. Dr Carpin stood above Katie and wagged her finger inches away from her face while scolding her asking her, “Have you gone to medical school? Are you a board-certified surgeon? Because I am.” Driving my daughter to tears. She then went on to diagnose me at this time with dementia and that I should not be making this decision. I was highly offended and do not think this accusation is at all appropriate for a doctor to make under these heated circumstances. The beratement continued when she scolded me for taking up four times more of her office time than is typical – though I only had two appointments with her. She told Katie that she wasn’t a good guardian because she didn’t go to the pre-op appointments with me (I don’t have or need a guardian). The doctor reprimanded us for 20+ minutes without answering our questions. Finally, Dr Carpin said this surgery should be cancelled because I couldn’t make a decision. She then went back and forth between cancelling the surgery and, in a passive-aggressive retort, saying that she would place the implants wherever I wanted, because I know best. She repeated that the surgery should not take place and that the only consequences were that Katie had to get up early and that I had an IV in my arm, insinuating I would get my money back. At that point I noticed her hands shaking and she was visibly upset. With her erratic mental state and physical tremors I did not trust her at that point to do the surgery and agreed to leave. I contacted her office on July 6, 2021 for a refund but have not heard back. Please refund the $6,425 I paid.
After having a baby and breastfeeding I am in need of some help. I don’t want a ton of projection and am more afraid about being overwhelmingly big rather than too small. I could only find one other account that had lower projection implants so I felt like I should share my journey also for others. They apparently don’t even carry the low profile implants in stock! When I went for sizing I chose a moderate profile cohesive gel implant. The range that I was interested in come pre-filled in 210, 240, and 255cc which I couldn’t decide on. I just kept feeling like they felt big for my lifestyle but I couldn’t put my finger on why it didn’t feel totally comfortable. Dr. Carpin has been fantastic the entire time. Being totally patient with me and all my tons of questions and concerns, and even when I kept changing my mind. She’s very knowledgeable and has made sure that I feel totally confident throughout the process. Right before my procedure I decided to change my implant type to a lower projection so I am now scheduled to have a low profile plus implant which I feel much more confident about and super excited for surgery! I know not many people get this but I think for me it will achieve that “mini boob job” look that I desire. Updated on 9 Sep 2020: I forgot to share my pre-op sizes. 32 years old 130 lbs. 5’ 5 1/2” Bra size - 34b but after breastfeeding it’s a very deflated cup. Updated on 16 Sep 2020: The entire process was great! I had to show up very early for a 7:30 am procedure. Dr. Carpin brought many different sizes and I felt totally confident in allowing her to decide what worked for me based on our conversation and goals. After speaking to anesthesia and getting an IV started, etc... I was given a glorious cocktail for pain and whatnot and pretty much don’t remember the rest until I woke up in recovery. I came home after being in recover for about 2 hours and pretty much crashed for the next 5 hours or so. I’m being consistent with meds given to me to keep pain at bay but I would like to stop taking it ASAP. Definitely shouldn’t have taken the pills with only a banana in my system and felt pretty nauseous but I basically just slept it off. I’m sooooo excited to see them at post op tomorrow. I was very adamant about not too much projection so I’m praying they are nicely sized without being too small. We shall see! Pictures to come!! Updated on 17 Sep 2020: I woke up this morning feeling very tight, however, so far the pain has been much less than I expected. Could be the meds helping also! ;) I went for my follow up appt where Dr. Carpin checked everything out, took off the bandages and said everything looked great! I added a few pics with the bra I ordered on Amazon with a front zipper. I am still very sore so I’m not going to mess with them for a few days to take other photos but I will as they heal. I’m waiting until at least 3 months to make a judgement on size/shape but so far I think I could probably have gone a tiny bit bigger. I’ll let you know how I feel in a few weeks. Updated on 19 Sep 2020: This is going to be a long patience game - which I’m the worst at! Looking forward to the “drop and fluff” situation. They’re still very high and oddly shaped. I haven’t tried on clothes or anything so not sure how I feel about the size but I or sure feel better about my choice seeing as if they had been too big I know i would have totally fixated on that. I’m going to stop the stronger pain meds today but continue the muscle relaxers since one side is very tight still. But I have a great range of motion and can get up and down from my bed alone. Updated on 20 Sep 2020: Most pain has gone away and I’m just trying to be patient waiting for them to settle and also trying to stay off of other profiles. Boob greed is real - but ultimately I know I made the right decision! It’s like mob mentality lol feeling like bigger and more would look great but knowing that it’s not what I would ultimately like. Updated on 11 Oct 2020: I am shocked that three weeks later it seems as if nothing happened. I’m not sure if it’s because the implants are so small so the recovery has been easier but it has been wonderful. I can’t say enough good things about Dr. Carpin and her process. The scars are healing nicely. I had an allergic reaction to the cleanse that was used on the day of surgery so I had a rash under my bandages and on the incision site. It cleared up on its own and the scars look great. The right side has been slower to drop but it’s getting there! Updated on 11 Nov 2020: I honestly forget I got them done sometimes - they’re so comfortable and only sometimes have numbness on the nipple. I put coconut oil in them and it helps. If I were to do it again I think I would have gone with a moderate profile or a little bigger. I am ultimately happy but I think I was just so scared that I preferred too small to too big, but now knowing it’s not such a drastic shock I could have handled a bit bigger! Scars look great. I did scar tape on them for a few weeks. Updated on 12 Nov 2020: Here is a body picture to see my new size with body proportions. I am 5’6” and weigh 130 lbs. 220 cc low profile plus on the left and 250 cc on the right. I wish I would have done 250 on both sides or 250 + 265 low profile plus... or maybe the smaller size but with a moderate projection. Still very happy thought!
I was over weight most of my twenties. I had 3 pregnancies, age 22, 24, and 25. I gained more weight after my last pregnancy. I changed my lifestyle at age 27 and over the course of a few years I lost 100lbs. I have maintained that loss within a 5-10lb range at any given time. I'm a runner (2 time marathoner) and lead an active lifestyle. I am hoping this procedure will help me feel more comfortable in my skin and during my workouts. I have been working with Dr. Carpin to make a plan that is best for my body.
Tuberous breasts are caused by constricted growth of the breast. In normal breast tissue, a fascial envelope covers breast. In a tuberous breast, this fascia is tight, restricting the growth of the lower pole of the breast. As a result, the breast tissue can start to herniate thru the areola. In your case, it appears to be constricted, but not starting to herniate thru the areola. Unfortunately, a tuberous breast deformity does not resolve on its own. A Board Certified Plastic Surgeon can help treat the tuberous breast deformity. Most patients will require a periareolar mastopexy, as well as an augmentation with a breast implant to correct the deformity. The mastopexy reduces the size of the areola. The implant, in combination with surgically releasing and rearranging the fibrous breast tissue can help restore the breast to a normal contour. If the constriction is severe, some patients may require tissue exanders first to stretch the tissue before a final implant can be placed.
Healing from breast augmentation surgery is usually complete around six to eight weeks after surgery. Around this time, patients are instructed to wear a bra that is comfortable for them. Most of the swelling from surgery should have resolved, so the bra size should be stable at this point. The picture is not an ideal view of your post-operative results. Please visit with your surgeon to evaluate the implant position. Accurate surgical dissection and proper implant selection is crucial for optimal implant position on your chest wall.
Just as no 2 snowflakes are the same, neither are breasts. Your breasts are NORMAL. Breasts come in all shapes and sizes, just like the rest of our body. I'm sure you have a different bottom, and different face from your friend as well. Just like every part of a women, society has decided what an ideal shape and size of the body looks like, and of course this differs from ethnicity as well as an individuals personal preferences. Plastic Surgeons are trained to recognize these differences and enhance them. So embrace your individuality. If you do want to enhance your beauty, do so cautiously and with a Board Certified Plastic Surgeon.
Sensory loss after breast augmentation is generally temporary and returns after approximately 3 months. If the surgical incision was made under the breast fold, the lower part of your breast may feel numb, as well as the nipple. Nipple sensation could be decreased after surgery in approximately 40 percent of patients, and may be long lasting in up to 6%. Using a peri-areolar incision or a larger implant may increase the risk for nipple sensory changes.
Hello, In general, all strenuous activity should be limited in the first 2 to 3 weeks to avoid elevating your heart rate and blood pressure which can help prevent a blood collection (hematoma) forming in your breast. I usually tell my patients to listen to their bodies, it will tell you when you are ready. If your implant was placed under the muscle, you likely will be too sore in the first few days to enjoy sexual activity. Some women experience hypersensitivity of the breast or nipples shortly after surgery so please ask your partner to proceed gently.
