Feeling Great at 41!
I just wanted to feel better. Ex-Army, avid power lifter, but gut, diabetes, high blood pressure, sleep apnea - ENOUGH. All that is gone now. Feeling great with regimen of yoga and racquetball. But now at 248 lbs, I just feel great. No longer snoring, gut is going down, A1C is lower. It's worth it! I just feel so much more alive and food is not a real priority. Just don't think about it as much. Updated on 1 Jul 2018: I’ve gone from 301 to 237 in a little over 3 months. I did
I'm 29, married with 3 kids, I'm 5'4" at my heaviest weight I was 260 this is over 50% of what I normally weighed even after having 2 kids. For some reason after I had my last child I wasn't able to loose weight in fact I kept gaining and gaining. All my family is morbidly obese in fact I had an uncle who was almost 900 lbs. I don't want to live this way any more, I want to be able to be healthy and enjoy life with my kids. This whole process has gone faster than I ever Imagined.

Totally Worth It - Houston, TX
I had the VSG single incision procedure with TLC in Houston. Two week pre-op liquid diet. Since I started the pre-op diet a month ago I've lost 28 pounds already. Complications/side effects: Horrible bowel movements on the pre-op diet and after the surgery. About a week after they cleared up. Post surgery, the pain in my abdomen was bearable- it was mostly from the port incision. TLC uses an On-Q pain pump. It took a full two weeks for my ab muscle to heal. The gas pain
After decades of dieting, I finally decided to get wls. I made the decision last year, and have been planning away ever since. Unfortunately for me, my insurance plan has a bariatric exclusion, so I am paying for my procedure out of pocket. The $16,500 is what this procedure is going to cost me in total, including consultation fees, pre-surgery endoscopy and labs, and my sister's flight so she can help me out as I recuperate. Anyway, I call this part 2 of three life changes because

28 Year Old a 3yr Old Ready for Healthy Change!! - Houston, TX
I started my journey towards obtaining the sleeve in March 2015, I went to MD Toby Broussard in Oklahoma because of good price and good reviews. Initially I was going to pay out of pocket because I thought I didn't have co morbidities aside from my BMI being 39.8 so I thought that I didn't qualify. My doctor sent me for a sleep study and it turned out I have Obstructive Sleep Apnea, he sent me for an EDG and I also have GERD. With these co morbidities my AETNA insurance will
I was always thin as a child and into my twenties until I had my first daughter at 28. Pre-pregnancy weight 130- full term pregnancy weight 208 - post pregnancy weight 183. My first diet experience took me down to 153. The next thing I knew I was back to 183, then two more pregnancies and I was over 200 lbs post pregnancy weight. My heaviest weight was 263. I am now at 240.  Over the years I've lost and gained the same 80-100 lbs time and again. Then came thyroid disease
