I had my Cellfina procedure 4 days ago!
I was a little nervous, as there are some pretty negative reviews on here, and I worried the procedure could make my dimpling and ripples worse. But, as my cellulite-related insecurity was already at maximum, I plunged ahead!
The procedure itself was not remotely bad; just a little awkward as you are lucid and awake in a room full of doctors and nurses with your bare ass out on the table. We chatted about Netflix shows as the doc did the ol’ snip snip.
The only pain I felt was a few twinges as the first needles went in to numb me. That pain was moderate, about the same as a shot or a piercing. Not pleasant, sure, but super tolerable. The most disconcerting part is the loud buzz of the vibrating needle used to cut your fascia. It sounds exactly like an electric knife used to carve a Thanksgiving turkey. #awk #imtheturkey
Anyway, the numbing and cutting both took my doc approximately 20 minutes. After 40 minutes total, the nurses bandaged me and then helped me wriggle my numb, slightly bloody (though less than I was anticipating!) ass into a compression garment and sent me on my way. I drove home with pads on my seat. I spent the rest of the day on the couch with pads under my butt. I was warned the leaking would be bad, but it really wasn’t for me. There were a few spots of blood on the pads at the end of the day, but otherwise my couch was unscathed.
The day after was uncomfortable, but again, not remotely bad. Just some twinging. And some grimacing in pain when I forgot to sit down gingerly on the couch or especially the toilet ([RS bleep] ouch!). I could have rallied and dragged my sore ass out of the house if I absolutely HAD too, but I would have been grumpy as hell about it. I’m glad I gave myself two full days to chill and nurse my bruised ass.
Four days out I’m bruised up, but I can tell my cellulite is already looking better. There’s no more pain, although I am sick to death of wearing this compression garment... I can’t wait to see the final result!

I’m bending backward to make all my dimpling really stand out. The markings actually make me look less bad, because they camouflage the cellulite. I wish I would have thought of that and gotten a better picture to document the transformation.

I’m still pretty bruised up, but I’m already liking the results. I think I look much smoother!

I just had my follow up, and the doc says I’m recovering well. :) If I haven’t recommended my provider, I really should. He is very professional and made me feel at ease. I also felt like he gave me realistic expectations. He told me I could expect 90% cellulite reduction, but didn’t say it would be a magic cure-all. Thumbs up for Dr. Mckenna.

A few people have been doing for updates, so here is a pic, a little over 3 weeks out! All the bruising was gone by day 14, but you can still see some small poke marks from the incisions.
I’ve gone through quite the roller coaster of emotions with Cellfina. At first when I was bruised and swollen, I really loved it. When the bruising went down, I still saw plenty of cellulite, and I was disappointed. About 2 weeks out, I thought there was only about a 10-15% improvement on my butt and maybe a slight worsening of the grooves on my thighs. I felt like a sucker who had wasted 4K on something vain, and berated myself for it a bit. Now I’m about 3.5 weeks out, and it’s turned a corner again. Now I think there is a 40-60% improvement on my butt, my thighs look ever so slightly better, and things appear to still be improving in both areas. So, now I’m happy again and hopeful for even more favorable changes. I’m sure won’t ever be 100% cellulite free, but I feel a bit more confidence already. I’ll post another update in a month or so. :)

Hi guys. I’m sorry to say that I no longer recommend cellfina. I’m massively dissapointed now 6 months out. I was initially excited about how much smoother my butt looked, but some of that turned out to be swelling.
I would say that I now have a minor reduction of cellulite on the top half of my ass and no improvement at all on the bottom half. What brings me to tears is the much bigger indents caused by cellfina in my thighs. They look shockingly bad in some lights. I kept hoping that they would go away with time, but no dice. I’ve now had a few consultations about skin tightening lasers to fix the additional problems cellfina has caused me. The only real fix might be surgery. ;(
My updated review is 1) save your money unless you are satisfied with a very minor reduction of cellulite on your butt and 2) for the love of god, don’t get cellfina on your thighs. It did more harm than good, at least for me.

And here’s a picture six months out to go with my update. Slightly clenched, much like most Cellfina before pics. Wavy ol’ ass. Cratery thighs. I do think it’s worse than my baseline, which makes me want to throw up because I spent 4 grand for...this.
