Happy with results - symptoms of BII have slowly started to resolve

I had a breast implant removal as well as breast lift with Dr. Stoeckel about 1 month ago. I can't express how happy I am with the procedure and the results. I also had symptoms of BII that have slowly started to resolve. Everyone in his office was kind and caring and took the time to answer multiple emails and calls. If you are in the area and are interested in booking any type of procedure I...

Overall the results I hoped for, I received

I have been following Dr. Stoeckel since the birth of my first child in 2012. Patiently waiting to be done with kiddos and ready for my mommy makeover. I had never had surgery before, so I was incredibly nervous. My consultation and pre-op appointments were top notch. I had all of my questions answered and felt very comfortable. Day of surgery I had an amazing experience with Dr. Stoeckel, his...

Q: 125 pound weight loss - Is it possible to get a flatter upper abdomen with no Fleur De Lis? (Photos)
Answered by Dr. StoeckelFebruary 21, 2024

A: You have skin laxity in both the vertical and horizontal dimensions of your body. Trying to effectively remove that skin excess with techniques that only utilize the vertical dimension will likely have disappointing results. The fleur de lis allows for tightening of the skin in both the vertical and horizontal dimensions and is the best option for you. Even with the FDL, you will likely have some residual skin laxity. An extended abdominoplasty followed by a reverse abdominoplasty would give you the next best results, but that combination still would not be as effective as a fleur de lis. Congratulations on the weight loss journey. That is to be commended. But you still have a difficult skin problem and need to temper your expectations with whichever surgical skin removal procedure you decide on.

Q: What’s happened? Loose skin & dent 1 year post-op
Answered by Dr. StoeckelApril 5, 2022

A: Really hard to tell much from this photo. If you have skin laxity and contour irregularities, you will almost certainly need an in-person exam to evaluate skin quality, laxity, tissue health, etc. before being able to provide options for revision surgery.

Q: Can you advise on under muscle revision with new pocket? (Photos)
Answered by Dr. StoeckelApril 5, 2022

A: Not sure about the question. But your breast implants are slightly bottomed out with the lower pole of the skin envelope being stretched over time. They do not look perfect, but they are symmetric and you do not have mastopexy scars. You can certainly change the position of the implant and elevate the implant on the chest wall and place them under the muscle. You would need a mastopexy at that point to allow the skin to drape around the implant properly.

Q: Muscle spasms 11 years post-op - is this normal?
Answered by Dr. StoeckelFebruary 25, 2022

A: I would not say that this is normal. But it would be difficult to know if the muscle spasms are related to your implants or not without an exam or more information. If the implants are still soft, in normal position, and symmetric, then it is still hard to know what might be going on. If the implants have become hardened, asymmetric, or in a different anatomic position than before, then it would be more likely to be cause by the implants and a revision procedure may offer some relief.

Q: Scheduled for a breast lift with implants in September. Is 520cc too much? (phtotos)
Answered by Dr. StoeckelFebruary 25, 2022

A: Unless your frame is bigger than it appears in the photo, I would caution using such a large implant with a breast lift. Your breast skin has already proven that it does not do well with heavy volumes. I would asssume that the amount of skin laxity you currently have is due to having large breasts at some time in the past. In my experience, patients that opt to have smaller implants with breast lift surgery tend to have a much more predictable and long lasting result. Of course, you will need to be happy with your volume, so in the end, you will have to make the call. But statistically speaking, I think you will have less post opeartive issues, less need for a revision, better scarring, and a more natural result with smaller implants.
