So, my wish for larger breasts stared around the time I was 20, but realized I didn't have the monetary resources and my breast were not all that bad. Also, I didn't think at the time that it would be a good idea to have that done prior to having children. Now that my youngest will be 9 I feel I am financially and physically ready to enhance what has now become deflated breast due to some breastfeeding and age. A few years back, I visited a PS who provided the 'fat transfer' method. Did not care for his manner much, and kinda felt like I was ordering cold cuts at a deli. After waiting for 45 minutes, he comes in, takes a look (no measurement) and tells me my options. The whole exam was approximately 20 min. More research led me to believe that this was not the route I would be going. Onto my 2nd PS visit, I was all gung ho on getting Sientra gummy bear anatomical implants. Doctor and staff at this practice were super nice and informative, the visit was over an hour. But the cost was over $10k, and I wasn't completely sold on the look. Due to breastfeeding, my upper pole is non existent and an anatomical, while maybe the most natural look, did not leave me feeling that it would be something I would be comlpletely happy with. Onto PS #3. Went in thinking about Mentor Memory Gel rounds. The PS measured and sized me, stating she mainly uses smooth round Mentor silicone (cohesive gel), sub pectoral. I am in agreement with the round, since I will not have to worry about rotation of the implant. As far as the shell being smooth, after extensive research, cannot find a definite reason not to. I am thinking about asking for the Memory gel rounds, (as opposed to just cohesive gel) but was wondering if anyone has the Memory Gel rounds, how do they look/feel. Of course as my date approaches, I am questioning everything. Also, does on type of surface texture bottom out more than the other? thanks, I will add photos later, as well as any updates. Updated on 22 Apr 2015: OK so I had my pre op today and decided on the 375 Mod plus Mentor silicone. I feel that should be a good fit ( along with my PS). I really want to be big without it being overtly obvious, except of course to those who know me. My date is May 5 unless my mammo/sono comes back questionable (being done the day before!) Getting nervous, just under 2 weeks away. My doctor is very confident so I am ultimately trusting her with my appearance. I will post my pre op pics soon as well as any other updated info. Updated on 23 Apr 2015: Now I am concerned, I chose to have mod plus, but am rethinking. So afraid of going to big or obvious. Funny because I am so self conscious of my small breast, yet don't want to be just as self conscious of by bigger ones... On the fence, should I go with regular, moderate profile instead? Anyone with moderate profile (not plus or HP), please let me know how it worked out for you. I have done searches, but most come back with HP or mod plus. THANKS!! Updated on 23 Apr 2015: This is what I am starting out with. I am 5' 5", 126 lbs. BWD 12.5 Updated on 28 Apr 2015: So last night, as I lay in bed, I decide to do a quick breast exam. Unfortunately, I felt a small, hard lump. I have a history of cystic breasts, even had an aspiration done last year. Thankfully, no breast cancer family history and the fluid tested from the aspiration was benign. I am now a bit concerned, but am having my mammo/sono (done every year) on Monday, day before BA. I am not the holiest of rollers, but I have my faith in God and fully believe in thepower of prayer. So if any of you could, please say a little prayer that I have nothing to worry about. Fingers crossed, I am wrongfully concerned. Updated on 29 Apr 2015: So, my pre op visit was done, recieved scripts for antibiotic and painkillers (YAY!) Got my scripts for preop testing and got my surgery time pushed off till noon. Works out better so I can make sure my kids are off to school. The hospital is an hour away and would've stunk if my hubby had to drop me off, come home, get my youngest out and then go back. Decided on 400cc, smooth round Mentor Mod plus, under muscle. Now I just have to maintain my nerves and excitement til then! Updated on 29 Apr 2015: Ok so my PS just called to let me know that she can use Allergan, style 15 instead of the mentor we had discussed. Talk about a curveball. All my research has been mainly Mentor but from what I was told, their warranty beats Mentors. So if anyone knows from experience with Allergan round silicone implants or knows someone who has them, please let me know any thoughts, etc... Now I am once again confused...have to call them tomorrow with my decision. Updated on 4 May 2015: well surgery tomorrow, stomach virus tonight. had to cancel, feel like crap. my journey isn't over, just put off for a bit due to hubbys work schedule. all of you, be well. til next time... :(
