Hi how are you? Did you schedule (re-schedule) a new date for your BA?
May 13, 2015
Hi! I actually have been doing more research (asif its even possible at this point), and have decided not to go ahead eith silicone. Never realized how, regardless of it being cohesive, it can permeate thru the shell and any scar tissue and be carried throughout your system. Lets just say I am now looking into these new IDEAL saline implants. I believe the doctor you used is one of the only local ones that participated in the study and will be offering them. How was your experience with him? Does he only operate out of Northport?

Hi. I have Saline. It was less expensive- like 2 thousand dollars cheaper, (I think, not 100% sure on that) also I think they "last longer" in your body, as far as replacing them. He is such a nice Doctor. He's calm, and pleasant & the staff is very nice. I'm almost positive he only does the BA's out of Northport on Jericho Tpke. He does also work out of Good Sam Hosp. (West Islip) you can ask but I think that he only goes there for other surgerys. The place in Northport was nice & the nurse there was really sweet. I think I got Mentor brand..... Good for you doing all that research, I didn't do much, I thought I did) anyway sorry so long., I definitly reccomend dr. harris

Ohh noooooo, I'm soooo sorry. You poor thing. Just concentrate on getting better, the rest will fall in place. Sending a big hug. PS enjoy family snuggles now, after surgery it's impossible for awhile.

Aww, I'm so sorry! I have seen this happen before so you're not alone. It's just the logistics of lining everything up again that is such a pain. Get well soon and let us know when you reschedule your surgery!

Allergan vs Mentor???

Mommytre
Ok so my PS just called to let me know that she can use Allergan, style 15 instead of the mentor we had discussed. Talk about a curveball. All my research has been mainly Mentor but from what I was told, their warranty beats Mentors. So if anyone knows from experience with Allergan round silicone implants or knows someone who has them, please let me know any thoughts, etc... Now I am once again confused...have to call them tomorrow with my decision.

I'm sure either one is perfectly fine! I have mentor but I've heard about and have seen great results with the Allergan as well! Think of it as Coke or Pepsi! Ha! ;)

thanks! I read that they are more similar than different, so I am comfortable with either. Probably go with Allergan now as they will cover a good amount toward surgery fees if a capsular contracture occurs within 10 years. A little extra insurance never hurts!

That's good to know for the future! Thanks!

Just found out the surgical allowance is not for complications from capsular contracture. Oh well

OK! 6 days to go...

Mommytre
So, my pre op visit was done, recieved scripts for antibiotic and painkillers (YAY!) Got my scripts for preop testing and got my surgery time pushed off till noon. Works out better so I can make sure my kids are off to school. The hospital is an hour away and would've stunk if my hubby had to drop me off, come home, get my youngest out and then go back. Decided on 400cc, smooth round Mentor Mod plus, under muscle. Now I just have to maintain my nerves and excitement til then!
