So, my wish for larger breasts stared around the time I was 20, but realized I didn't have the monetary resources and my breast were not all that bad. Also, I didn't think at the time that it would be a good idea to have that done prior to having children. Now that my youngest will be 9 I feel I am financially and physically ready to enhance what has now become deflated breast due to some breastfeeding and age.
A few years back, I visited a PS who provided the 'fat transfer' method. Did not care for his manner much, and kinda felt like I was ordering cold cuts at a deli. After waiting for 45 minutes, he comes in, takes a look (no measurement) and tells me my options. The whole exam was approximately 20 min.
More research led me to believe that this was not the route I would be going. Onto my 2nd PS visit, I was all gung ho on getting Sientra gummy bear anatomical implants. Doctor and staff at this practice were super nice and informative, the visit was over an hour. But the cost was over $10k, and I wasn't completely sold on the look. Due to breastfeeding, my upper pole is non existent and an anatomical, while maybe the most natural look, did not leave me feeling that it would be something I would be comlpletely happy with. Onto PS #3. Went in thinking about Mentor Memory Gel rounds. The PS measured and sized me, stating she mainly uses smooth round Mentor silicone (cohesive gel), sub pectoral. I am in agreement with the round, since I will not have to worry about rotation of the implant. As far as the shell being smooth, after extensive research, cannot find a definite reason not to. I am thinking about asking for the Memory gel rounds, (as opposed to just cohesive gel) but was wondering if anyone has the Memory Gel rounds, how do they look/feel. Of course as my date approaches, I am questioning everything. Also, does on type of surface texture bottom out more than the other? thanks, I will add photos later, as well as any updates.

You should write in the search bar...anything you want to know more about trust me everything pops up! With textured implants they don't really drop if I'm not mistaken, and that I wouldn't like because now I'm a month post op and my right is smaller in size and not dropping yet:/ all I have is hope that I will see the final result at 6 weeks!! But my ps said in women that have children and over 40 tend to have a wonderful result right after surgery after 2 weeks they are perfect! I hope that helps:)

REALLY? Wow I'm 40 SO THATS GREAT NEWS TO HEAR!!!

Hi, I am also in a similar situation. I'm 35, breastfed 3 kids total of almost 4 years, ready to get a full and natural look back. I am also going back and forth between smooth vs textured, leaning more toward the textured (sientra cohesive), for a couple reasons. One, the textured implants tend not to move around in the pocket as much as the smooth do (yes they drop into the pocket, all implants will due to design and gravity) had this very question answered by my doctor today). This also helps them stay in place when you lay down and can prevent them from moving out towards the arms, as well as bottoming out (this is per my Dr.). Two, the risk of rippling and capsular contracture is lower. I am very concerned about rippling because my skin is thin and I am as well. I'm normally a 32b, stretched out to 34d during pregnancies, so my skin is thin. Going too big or too small for the space is a major contributing factor for rippling. I'm going back and forth between 350-375, although my Dr. says I can go up to 400 without compromising my health or causing problems. I'm also going with high profiles, since I have the skin for it and want more of a projection. My measurements dictate the need for HP as well (11.5). Anyway, I hope this helps! My BA is scheduled for April 28th and I absolutely can not wait! I hope everything goes smoothly for you!

I did, plus tylenol inbetween & I think that's why I feel so good today, because I had plenty of rest. Best of luck & don't be nervous! Don't get smaller then 400cc's!!!! (I'm kinda regretting it now) TAKE CARE ;-)

Pre op done!

Mommytre
OK so I had my pre op today and decided on the 375 Mod plus Mentor silicone. I feel that should be a good fit ( along with my PS). I really want to be big without it being overtly obvious, except of course to those who know me. My date is May 5 unless my mammo/sono comes back questionable (being done the day before!) Getting nervous, just under 2 weeks away. My doctor is very confident so I am ultimately trusting her with my appearance. I will post my pre op pics soon as well as any other updated info.

Hi... So I took off the bra thing I had in since surgery.... I think they (my boobs) are pretty small (360 cc) you should Definitly go for the 400cc
May 1, 2015
Yeah, my surgeon suggested the Naturelle implant 397 cc, it has a slightly bigger projection but otherwise comparable to the 400 mentor. At this point I am pretty much commited, so I better be happy! Remember when your swelling goes down your girls will drop and fluff. just takes time. I have seen pics of 360 and they look like a nice size. I want a 'did she or didn't she' look, so I am hoping thats what I get.
May 1, 2015
I look at it this way, anything is better than the size I have now! If I end up a full C or small D I will be happy. I really don't want to be a DD because I think I would be uncomfortable wearing certain tops and bikinis. Thats just me though :)

Constantly rethinking...

Mommytre
Now I am concerned, I chose to have mod plus, but am rethinking. So afraid of going to big or obvious. Funny because I am so self conscious of my small breast, yet don't want to be just as self conscious of by bigger ones... On the fence, should I go with regular, moderate profile instead? Anyone with moderate profile (not plus or HP), please let me know how it worked out for you. I have done searches, but most come back with HP or mod plus. THANKS!!

Do not get those...... I feel the EXACT SAME WAY AS YOU... Almost embarrassed to actually getvthe implants... It's redicuolus. I've seen the regular moderate in the flesh, let's put it this way... DONT LIKE... DONT WANT! I actually walked back into the office and grabbed my Doc & said "Its not gonna be the Moderate... It's gonna be the moderate plus Right????? Hope that helps...

Not trying to offend anyone at ALL, just not a fan of moderate or ultra HP, (wouldn't look right on me)
April 23, 2015
Yes that helps, just want satisfy my curiosity because I didn't even consider it initially but some pictures I have seen give me the impression that I may look too fake. Decisions, decisions!
April 24, 2015
You know if you don't have anything nice to say, you shouldn't say it? Well I am disappointed to say that while I have not told many people about my procedure, my older sister was less than approving. "You know it'll look obvious", "Don't go too big", "You'll be all stretched out" and the best and most uplifting "If there's a complication and you need them removed, you will have to pay again". Mind you, I still want to do it, but why does your own family have to be so negative? My husband just recently got on the bandwagon, and that took years!! My own mom is fine with it, as well as one of my oldest, dearest friends. At least if they have any judgment, they are keeping it to themselves. I have not told any co workers yet, nor my other sister (who I feel will be another naysayer). I have a younger brother, who I will not involve, as he does not live nearby and we don't see each other often at at all. I am still trying to decide how to let my two teenage sons know, or should I just not say anything? Recovery will be challenging but I may be able to come up with something...Any suggestions from women with older sons, I am all ears. My younger son will probably be oblivious, at least that is what I am counting on! I just needed to vent...so nice to have this site where we can bond and share info. I am sure I am not the only one dealing with negative Nancy's (no offense to anyone named Nancy, LOL)

I'm not planning on telling the majority of people until after.... And that's if need be.....
April 25, 2015
i feel the same way
April 25, 2015
I agree, I'm not telling anyone at this point. I told one of my adult daughters(I have 2) It became all about them and their opinion, I decided why do I have to tell anyone? Why should anyone care about my breasts? I'm doing this for me, my hubby is the only one that knows and in my opinion the only one who needs to know.
April 25, 2015
Perfect sense! no one elses body, no one elses business. I am nervous enough without having to weigh in others opinions. When I got my tattoo, I mentioned it after the fact because it was visible, didn't need to make an announcement before ;)
April 25, 2015
Exactly, this is about you I see no reason why we have to include others. Some may disagree but again why should anyone care about our breasts?! Do what's right for you but anything that is going to cause you more stress is just not worth it! Good luck! My BA is scheduled for June 4 and this was no easy journey for me to even get this far in the process. :)
April 25, 2015
Thanks, and good luck to you as well!

I'm still not sure what to tell my sons... Or not too.... I probably will after.... They know I've been to the Dr. , they asked what for & I said, "for girly stuff" ....

Is it definite... Did you go to your pre-op visit with your Dr. Yet? I can't remember... Did you decide on what type & size you are getting done?
April 25, 2015
Well I do have to back one more time, paperwork, etc. Funny thing is I was told its up to the anesthesiologist whether or not I need bloodwork, ekg, etc. My PS said usually over the age of 50 they ask for that stuff unless there are health concerns. The only thing I have is sinus arrythmia, but it is a common, benign condition. Strange because any other time I have needed surgery (tonsillectomy, ovarian cyst removal) I needed pre op labs done. I wonder if any others have been told that? Type I am going for are the Mentor mod plus, smooth, round silicone, sub pectoral. Either 375 or 400, haven't decided. I know size wise, there is not much difference, I may leave it up to her.

I had to get blood work done too..... I went to a lab, I think it's just for general blood work

I'm getting saline.... I knda wanted the silicon but it was an extra 2 thousand dollars... I felt bad spending the extra money they said they are pretty much the same.... I'm getting Mod Plus 330 saline but Dr. Said he might fill it to the Max it holds 360. Going this Thursday! I'm So nervous, I don't want them to big.... And I'm so scared of the pain & recovery

Do you have a big gap between your breasts? If not then don't get moderate plus. High profile will fill you up nicely. I regret not going bigger and I had the same thoughts as you...so out of your options, go with the largest. Trust me.
April 28, 2015
Yes, wide sternum, which is why the mod plus is what I chose. Probably going with 400 after reading about cc 'loss' going under muscle. Maybe even 425, I will be discussing with my PS on Wed. Thanks for commenting, I never get tired of reading sound advise!
