Dr. Rao Was referred to me by 03 other colleagues. He has a wonderful Team. Very professional, knowledgeable and the practice is very clean. The practice Coordinator Laramie Johnson is very responsive, she always answered to my phone-mails in a timely manner and always there.. Buffie the OR Nurse is adorable she made me feel welcomed and comfortable and Jeremy the Anesthesiologist they were with me during the entire procedure. Jeremy made it very smoothly and easy and answered all my questions making me not feel any fears. Alexis Lee the Pre Op Nurse was very clear and gave me the complete instructions , prescriptions and documents to be ready. I made the right decision. I recently had a mini tummy tuck with him and I cannot express how happy I am with the results. It has only been 3 weeks and a half and I'm already loving the results. I can easily hide my scar wearing a tiny bathing suit! I will recommend him to all my friends and family. Also, her patient coordinator Laramie is the sweetest person!

I honestly don’t know where to start so I will give you a short background of my journey. I am a bariatric patient who had bariatric surgery in 2012 I lost 120 pounds and was left with a significant amount of loose skin. I decided to start looking into having a body lift for skin removal in certain areas of my body. I initially looked into going to Doctors in Miami Florida and even put a deposit down. After my husband doing some intense research about plastic surgeries in that area and the doctors we decided to look elsewhere. I have gone to several consultations in my state and had some consultations virtually and was told that doctors would remove the abdominal skin but would not be comfortable with performing surgery on my breast area because my areola's were so large that after a breast lift and adding breast implants they were not confident that there would be enough skin or areola to close the breast back up. I was left extremely disappointed and I wanted to do both but I would not give up. Long story short I search the American Board of plastic surgeons and start looking at readings certifications patient care and I narrowed my list down to five doctors that I was willing to go see out of state and efforts to complete my journey. Three out of the five doctors told me that they were able to help me with my breast augmentation. I had gone to consultations at all three which were in different states. Two were in Washington DC and one was in Maryland doctors have wonderful credentials and I have been in practice for a very long time. After all, consultations were complete we decided to choose Dr. Samir S Rao. Before I had even gone to meet Dr. Rao in person I had already started leaning towards choosing his practice. When inquiring about the surgery team and coordinator Laramie Johnson (who is the absolute best)  made me feel so welcomed and watch me through the entire process and made sure that I was comfortable with my decision, comfortable with coming out of state even for a visit, and also being very transparent about the doctor not normally taking out-of-state patients with some of my medical background. Prior to even setting an appointment, Dr. Rao himself called me spoke with me even FaceTime to me from his personal cell (how many Dr.'s do you know facetime a patient?) and made me feel like a friend rather than a potential patient. He went over everything with me thoroughly his concerns and most importantly what he and I would need to do to ensure I have a safe and successful surgery. A couple days before the appointment Dr. Rao‘s team was consistently calling me checking on me making sure that I had everything in order to come for the visit offering me different options of directions and during my travel calling to check to make sure that I would be arriving safely. Once I met Dr. Rao I knew then that he was the perfect man for the job. He and his team are so full of personality and down to earth. (Even my husband who is a Director of a Hospital was empressed by him and his team, mind you that rarely happens) When I decided to confirm my choice with Dr. Rao and his staff everyone was so accommodating and their red carpet world-class customer service was consistent and amazing from the beginning till present day. The weeks leading up to surgery I became extremely nervous and had a lot of anxiety and considered canceling and or just backing out and just as I have made the decision to call and cancel, Tina (Now she is heaven sent) his nurse calls me and says to me that she was calling to check on me and wanted to talk to me about any concerns or anxiety I might have about the procedure as this is common in patients for the surgery. This made me feel so comfortable and I did express my anxiety and concerns and of course they made me feel right at ease. His staff called and checked on me every other day leading up to surgery. Dr. Rao and his team made sure that I had a wonderful experience during a time where I was having major surgery and they cared for me like a friend or a loved one and not just a patient who was paying for a service. I have never met a doctor or an office staff that conduct themselves with such tailored mean 1st class customer service and professionalism. My surgery and post opp results were a complete success. Dr.Rao not only met our expectations but definitely exceeded them by far. I must say he is the only doctor in my whole life that I get super excited to go see every time. I do plan to continue reconstructing my body (but of course Dr.Rao would not allow it until after I made a full year of recovery as he wanted me and my body to just rest so I can enjoy my results) from my weight loss journey. I know that Dr. Rao and his team will be the only ones I will and trust with my health and life when it comes to cosmetic surgery. He is truly an amazing/talented doctor who also has the best care team around. It was definitely worth all the inconvenience of driving and being out of state and away from my family and kids during Christmas while undergoing my procedure and recovery. Dr. Samir Rao and his AMAZING care team is what true patient care should really look like.  Other doctors and their staff should take a few pages from his book as they could really learn a lot from Dr. Raoand his team. I am highly satisfied, I got the results as I wanted. He is skilled, knowledgeable and respectful. He explained everything in detail. His office staff and his surgical coordinator are superb. I will go back to him without hesitation.

Although I was unlucky to receive a diagnosis of breast cancer, I was extremely lucky to have obtained Dr. Rao as my plastic surgeon. From our first meting Dr. Rao greeted with me care and compassion understanding the fear and anxiety I was experiencing without my expressing those feelings to him. The cosmetic outcome from the pending surgery was not foremost in my mind at this point in my treatment. Cancer is a scary diagnosis, the journey to healing has highs and lows but I can assure any reader, Dr.Rao's artistry as a plastic surgeon is truly amazing. I look better now than I did in my twenties. Dr. Rao's staff epitomizes the true meaning of professionalism and empathy for their patients. Laramie, the patient relations coordinator, is very thorough as well as patient anticipating your questions before you've asked them. Tina, one of many great nurses in the practice is awesome. I left my pre-op appointment with a smile on my face. She gave me every reason to believe I was in great hands. She was right, Dr. Rao delivers.

Dr. Rao was very straightforward about options for various procedures, and he takes the time to answer your questions thoroughly. He was very personable and set me at ease the day of the procedure. He is a perfectionist and he will work with you to achieve the outcome that you are looking for. I highly recommend Dr. Rao!

Come see Dr. Samir Rao. He will listen . If you have an area that affects your self esteem, or need reconstruction, come see Dr. Rao. His surgical talents will make it worth your while, and his genuine kindness are apparent. His colleagues and staff are terrific make you feel special. I mostly had saggy, wrinkly leg skin and some dimpling for over a decade. I know this is not tragic, but it bothered me daily. I started buying long shorts which I hated. I am a healthful eater and have always worked out consistently for decades. I read about the J Plasma procedure to tighten skin and Dr. Rao performed the procedure. It has only been two weeks, but the results are terrific! The skin now looks smooth! I can't wait to see my legs in a month, as it will even get better. Thank you Dr. Rao for everything!

I am at the beginning stages of the breast reconstruction process. I met Dr. Rao when I was deciding between a lumpectomy with a breast reduction or bilateral mastectomy with reconstruction to mitigate future risk. I was very afraid of the mastectomy and really had no idea the role that plastic surgery plays in the process. He sat down with me and really listened to my concerns and then showed me numerous photos of outcomes of plastic surgery with mastectomies so that I would have a sense of the possibilities if I went with that option. I was amazed and so encouraged by the potential of having reconstructed breasts after a mastectomy. I don't think he knows how much he helped me to visualize an aesthetically positive future with a bilateral mastectomy, which I knew in my heart would be a better preventative path given my history. During this time when he patiently went through the options, he gave me hope. I will always be grateful to him for increasing my awareness in this manner. You can tell in talking with Dr. Rao that he is both a very skilled technical surgeon and is also aiming for the best aesthetically pleasing outcome. I really like that combination because reconstruction is both a technical and artistic process. After my mastectomy and tissue expanders surgery I experienced an unusual event with a hematoma. Dr. Rao saw me right away, and operated as soon as possible on the same day to quickly resolve the hematoma. He was so responsive and on top of it that it never became a major or ongoing issue for me. I got to experience first-hand his level of responsiveness, which confirms my confidence in him as a surgeon. Another sense of Dr. Rao I get is that he is a collaborator and communicator. He collaborates closely with the cancer surgeon, which is really important, he collaborates and communicates closely with you as a patient, and with the nurses and staff in his office. Like him his nurses are both technically competent and very good educators. His nurse navigator is extremely helpful with scheduling, insurance coverage and making you feel confident that they will work everything out on your behalf. Everyone is very friendly and helpful, which creates a relaxing environment despite the medical procedures. While I am on the beginning part of this reconstruction journey, my sense is that the whole process takes awhile, and you have to go through numerous steps to get a good outcome so you are in a long-term partnership with your plastic surgeon. I am very happy to be partnered with Dr. Rao for his technical skill both mechanically and aesthetically, his approachable, friendly and responsive style, and the fact that he leads his whole operation with the goal of the best possible outcome for you as a patient. I appreciate him and his staff very much! Great choice for me!

Going through breast cancer is life changing experience, even with the best support team. Having Dr. Rao as my plastic surgeon through this tumultuous time was one of the best decisions I ever made. He is the consummate professional and excellent at what he does. He makes you feel so comfortable and listened to. He is sensitive to what you are going through and has an excellent bedside manner. I had a few setbacks after my surgeries and he was with me the entire way. I am so impressed with his work. You could never tell that I had a double mastectomy and a DIEP flap, except that everything looks amazing, way better than it all did before. His office staff is on point as well. You never have to wait more than 10 minutes and they are lovely to you as you check in and out. I am completely satisfied with Dr. Rao as my choice for a plastic surgeon.
