5 out of 5 stars Tummy Tuck
Show More After visiting with several doctors, I decided to go with Dr. Brown. He has an endearing demeanor and was the only doctor that said he could do some abdominal lipo along with the tummy tuck for max results. I trusted him because I felt like he wasn't trying to sell me. I went for my 6 month review recently and told him I felt so much better but there were some places that I wasn't really over the moon with on my abdomen and sides. He's correcting that and only charges a nominal fee to pay for the medicine/supplies, he's not charging me for his time. He's worth being on the higher side of the spectrum simply for this guarantee. I'm also adding flank liposuction to the correction since I'll already be paying the facility fee. Dr. Brown makes sure you're happy and I feel like he'll always be "my guy" that I go to. I'm always annoying late to my appointments and he never seems to even care. So laid back and professional and his staff are always so caring and helpful.

Show More Dr. Brown was very patient the whole time and did not mind my hundreds of questions and concerns. Some doctors are quite arrogant and feel like you're challenging them if you are asking questions about safety, preventing infection, etc. Dr. Brown was not like that at all. He was humble but confident in his abilities and did a great job. I loved how he has a checklist things to do during surgery to prevent infection (that was my biggest fear). I got very scared of dying and leaving my family behind right before surgery and I started crying. He was super kind and comforting and that meant a lot to me. After surgery he was always quick to answer my questions and was good about following up to see how I was doing. I hope I never need another surgery but if I do, I'll definitely use him.

Show More I used the Chevy Chase, MD location. I felt very comfortable with Dr Brown since I stepped in his office. He was very professional and really listened to my concerns about what I wanted. His staff is great-shout out to his assistant Rachel. She always responds to me very quickly and if she doesn't know the answer to my questions, she always contacts me back right away. I am one week into my full tummy tuck. I am very swollen and bruised (duh- just had major lipo and surgery)-totally expected. I had my follow up at one week. Dr says I look great and the final results should be wonderful. I think he is right cause so far, I am already pleased even with all the swelling and bruising. It only gets better from here. The front desk staff are always nice. The atmosphere is great. Sometimes the wait can be long but that is almost at any Dr office. They really seem to care about your concerns rather than just making a buck. Kudos for that. The only thing I was not so happy with was that neither Dr Brown nor his staff called me over the next few days to check up on me. I think this is important but I guess if you have a problem, you can always call them (which I did for a few questions) and received immediate feedback. I had the surgery at Sibley Memorial Hospital (Johns Hopkins) and they did call the next day to see how things were going.
5 out of 5 stars Breast Lift with Implants
Show More Dr. Brown is amazing. He listened to all of my concerns, helped me decide on a shape of implant, and was incredibly responsive when I had questions after surgery. He did an amazing job. I had a huge amount of loose skin and very little breast tissue after weight loss/nursing. My breasts look fantastic. I healed quickly, my scars are minimal, and they look amazing. I couldn't be happier and can't recommend him highly enough. It was the best decision of my life!
5 out of 5 stars Breast Reconstruction Revision
Show More 2 years ago I had bilateral mastectomy and after visiting 3 different plastic surgeons, I chose to go with Dr Brown and I am very glad I did! My sister was accompanying me on my appointments and after our visit with Dr. Brown we both agreed that he had such kind and gentle disposition that differed him form the rest. From the time of my first surgery he was there even before my breast surgeon had come to hospital. He stayed as long as it took to make sure the job was done perfectly. I was told by all plastic surgeons that the nipples cannot be saved. Now I know it is because they do not want to put the extra time and effort to make sure the blood circulation is sufficient on the area for this procedure. He not only saved both nipples, he kept a close watch to make sure all was healed and back to normal – My breast surgeon told me that she has not seen any plastic surgeon to do such a thorough job on the day of mastectomy- When it was time he put the implants which all went smoothly – Dr Brown is not only a perfectionist on his work, but he is one of the nicest and gentlest doctors, or better say human beings, I have ever met.
5 out of 5 stars Tummy Tuck
Show More The day of the procedure he made sure that I was ok with his plan as well as reassuring my husband about the procedure. Gave me the opportunity to ask further questions before surgery. Again I cannot stop praising him. He is fantastic and very patient.
1 out of 5 stars Liposuction
Show More I am mortified by the treatment I received from Dr. Brown. Not only am I upset with my final result, I am upset with the way he and his office treated me. I will start with my results. I've had two procedures with Dr. Brown, first was a tummy tuck with liposuction as well as fat injections under the eyes and the second was required for revisions to the first procedure. The tummy tuck was fine but the liposuction was awful. He did not even come close to removing enough fat to make my sides/chest the flatness I envisioned. Further, my flanks were uneven with one side having noticeably more fat than the other. The fat injections did not take the first round. For my second procedure I had additional liposuction of the chest and flanks. Dr. Brown assured me he would be as aggressive as possible. Again my flanks were not completely flat (see attached pictures). He told me he removed "virtually all of the fat" in them. Look at the attached pictures and you can clearly tell all the fat was not removed. It seems to me he is lying to cover himself or he is unable to tell when there is fat present. This brings me to my personal assessment of Dr. Brown. He is way too conservative with how much he removes for my liking. Multiple times he told me that if he didn't take out enough the first time he could always go back and take more. Why should someone require multiple surgeries just because he can't figure out how much is appropriate to take out the first time? Isn't that his job? Responses to my follow-up questions were not satisfactory either. Some responses took about a week to receive. Many were evasive. His staff isn't much better. One of his nurses that they like to put on the phone I find rude and condescending, seldom is a time I enjoyed (or found helpful) my interaction with her. The current patient coordinator took days to get back to me about simple things like trying to make a payment. When I finally demanded answers to my questions, after being ignored for almost a week, he wrote me that "to continue with your care, this behavior must improve", referring to my blunt demands for an answer. I don't find insinuating that care will be cut off ethical. This is the kind of response you when you want to know, after a week, why you look like a circus freak with two different sized flanks. In the pictures attached you can see more fat in one side. This is the kind of care that I have received and find it appalling.
