Breast enhancement is an art. While the size of the breasts is a uniquely personal
decision, the shape, feel, symmetry, and lack of visible scars is not. These details are really up to the surgeon. All too frequently, surgeons place breast implants through large cut incisions, leaving a conspicuous scar and bumps. At our Chicago practice, breast augmentation surgery is performed with a minimally invasive armpit incision, allowing patients to get back to their normal activities within 48 hours with minimal bruising.
When it comes to breast implants, many of our patients ask if they should pick silicone or saline for their breast enhancement options. Currently in our Chicago practice, 9 out of 10 women choose silicone implants over saline implants. This follows the trend you see worldwide. Women find that silicone feels softer and looks more natural.

Post-Pregnancy Procedures

Many of the patients at my Chicago practice who are mothers notice that their bodies change significantly after bearing children and breastfeeding. They often come to me for mommy makeover surgery or a post-pregnancy makeover. Depending on the extent of the changes they’re experiencing, I’ll present them with several personalized options. Most mommy makeovers reconstruct both the abdomen and the breasts, because those are the areas most affected by pregnancy. Typically, that means a tummy tuck and liposuction to remove excess fat and tighten up the abdominal region. Women might also opt to have some sort of breast surgery (breast augmentation, breast lift, or breast reduction) to restore fullness and volume. Some patients also take this opportunity to have a Brazilian butt lift or arm lift. The idea is to perform whatever procedures will help you bounce back to your pre-baby shape as much as possible.
