Under the Knife Again!

At the young age of 22, I suffered a staph infection in my right breast as a result of nipple piercing gone wrong. For years I was treated was no success. At age 26 I had a mastectomy on my right breast, removing 75% of my breast tissue. I found myself with a C cup on my left, and at best a small B cup on my right. For Two long years of bra stuffing and other tricks I suffered with low self...

39 Yrs Old with 5 Kids (3 Bio). MMO, BA (700cc), Lipo, Fat to Lip Transfer - Atlanta, GA

Inquired about Mommy makeover in July and had surgery 3 days ago...yes that quick! I'm already satisfied with my results. I did not look like a 39 year old naked. I nursed all my children until they were almost 2 years old so of course the girls sagged a lot! I had a major tire ring that wouldn't go away. I was very self conscious about my body. It's been years since I've been in a bathing...

Dr. Pound Was the BEST! Am Trying to Get Back to the States for a Touch Up! - Atlanta, GA

Met Dr. Pound in the emergency room where he stitched me back together from a serious car wreck and gave me excellent follow up treatment. Went back a few years later with my sister to have eye surgery on upper and lower lids and bag reduction under the eyes. Wish I had done a tiny more work as he suggested as I have to look at booking another surgery to have that little bit of work done now...

GREAT Breast Implant Job! Couldn't Be Happier! - Atlanta, GA

I can't say enough good things about my experience with Dr. Pound and his staff. I recently had breast implant surgery (my incision was through the nipple and I got the gel implants). My surgery was only two weeks ago and my scars are barely noticeable! I heard such good things about him that I came from another state just to see him! My sister went to him 5 years ago and still looks great....

Needed Nose Job - Atlanta, GA

I have always disliked the shape of my nose and wanted to have surgery to eliminate the hump. Dr. Pound performed TUBA breast augmentation on me in 2006 with a wonderful outcome, so I decided to use him again. He has also performed eye lid surgery and a chin implant, and both were also great successes. If I feel the need to have any future procedures, I will without question travel from...

32 Years Old, 4 Kids, 108 Lbs, 5' 3" SIZE?! Atlanta, GA

Ah! My surgery date is finally set for a little more than two months down the road. Personally, I dont feel pregnancy took a toll on my breasts... Nursing those babies on the other hand... That did the damage. Beings I am traveling quite far for the procedure, the amount of time I have to make a size decision will be short. I want to look natural but be big enough for them to be fun!! Ive...

Breast Implants - Atlanta, GA

Dr. Edwin Pound is so skilled at what he does that not only have I been extremely happy with his results I have also witnessed other Doctors praise him for his accomplishments as well. He is not only an outstanding Dr. but also an active member of his community. Reading about his medical journeys makes one glad there are people in this world like him. He gives back more than he receives to us and to the less fortunate people of this word. We are lucky to have him on our team. Thanks to his Mom and Dad for producing such a fine man. The help he has given me has given me the confidence to compete in Latin dance competitions and feel better about myself every day. Robin Robin

Lasers, Lasers, Lasers!

LASERS, LASERS, LASERS! - Win Pound, M.D. These days, the emphasis is less on surgery and more on non-surgical procedures in order to enhance our appearance. Fillers, Botox/Dysport, and lasers are replacing surgery to re-shape, add volume, and eliminate facial lines and wrinkles. Part of this is due to the tight economy and another part is due to the need to eliminate any lengthy recovery period. I always admonish patients to be careful when dealing with...

Does Board Certification REALLY Matter?

True story: A man called my office four days after going to a spa to receive an injection of filler material into a deep line located between his eyebrows. In the state of Georgia, where I practice, anything injectable must be done by a physician, nurse, or physician's assistant. In this instance, a physician was the injector. So the doctor overseeing the spa injects the filler and flattens out the depressed line. What could go wrong? Sounds straightforward and simple enough. ...

Surgical and non-surgical options for facial rejuvenation

Surgical and Non-surgical Options for Rejuvenation - Win Pound, M.D. We spend billions of dollars in this country every year trying to re-capture our youth. Some of the changes we make are permanent and others are only temporary. I had an older patient in my office the other day looking to improve her appearance. She was concerned about the lines, depressions, and sagging skin in her face. As I reviewed her options, I realized that I was essentially...

Recovering from Surgery

P { margin-bottom: 0.1in; line-height: 120%; } Recovering from Surgery -Win Pound, M.D. Patient: Is this gonna hurt? Me: No, I promise I won't feel a thing, but thanks for asking. There are two aspects to recovering from surgery. The first is the level of discomfort the patient will experience. The second is when the patient can resume normal activities. Since the second aspect is the easiest to answer, I will address that one first. Every doctor...

Surgical and non-surgical fat removal

Liposuction has been the tried and true method for fat removal since it was first introduced in the early 1970's. Troublesome fat deposits, such as the hips, thighs, and abdomen, are treated by completely removing the fat cells via negative pressure through a hollow metal tube. It's sort of like sucking up a milkshake through a straw. Once those fat cells are removed, they are gone forever. Unless the patient gains a large amount of weight, new fat cells should not develop in the...
