Dr. Whidden is very professional and to the point. He listened to my concerns and wants for my breast augmentation, and I could not be more pleased with the outcome. His staff are great and the facility is top-tier. Highly recommend
Dr Whidden and all his staff are so amazing and I highly recommen. Their facility is great and I felt that I was in great care throughout the entire process. I chose Dr Whidden for his flawless belly buttons and natural looking breast augmentations and he definitely did not disappoint! My new belly button is perfection and my breasts turned out to be the perfect size for me… big enough but not too big. For the breasts I ended up with high profile 415 ccs. My natural breasts were very saggy from breastfeeding and I was unsure if I would need a lift as well. Dr Whidden was super informative and layed out all the facts without being pushy either way.
For many years I’ve considered a breast augmentation. After a year or two of research and saving up funds, I looked in to a few doctors in Calgary. Dr. Whidden was someone I decided to meet with due to the staff I spoke with over the phone, the information provided in his website and social media and by reading several reviews. I booked a consultation six months in advance and asked to be put on a cancellation list. I’m happy to report that after 4-6 weeks I was Called for a cancellation consultation to be booked the following week. I was greeted by nursing staff and administrative staff and everyone was very helpful and friendly. Repeated emails and instructions assisted in me arriving prepared for the appointment. The nurse explained the entire process to me including pre-op, surgery, products and recovery. The nurse took some before photos and my partner was able to attend the consult with me to ask any questions he may have. Following my in depth conversation with the nurse dr Whidden arrived and took several measurements. He explained his method of BA and his approach to cohesive silicone gel implants, under the muscle. Dr. Whidden explained the risks and had excellent bedside manner. He explained the sizing options and stated what would happen if he went too big and the risks. I felt every question or concern I had was dealt with. I then met with the scheduling/ finance person and she explained the payment process and booking. As BA’s don’t take too long To perform, I was able to schedule a surgical date approximately 9 weeks away. December 1st!! Surgery must be paid for one month in advance and all medications are discussed with a pharmacy close to the surgical centre that delivers them directly to you prior to surgery at the surgical centre. Updated on 9 Dec 2021: Surgery went well and I must admit the first two days were awful. Lots of pain and pressure and just no ability to do anything. I was very lucky to have a supportive partner who could assist with everything. By day five I am able to walk around a bit more and have more mobility. Still a bit of a tight feeling in my chest but there was never any pain near incisions. Most of my discomfort is by my armpits and the sides of my chest.
I am currently 2 weeks post op and the swelling has gone down tremendously. There is still a lot of time until they relax and "drop and fluff" but so far, I love my *new* breasts so much! What can I say... My recovery was miraculous!! I honestly did not anticipate my recovery to be as smooth as it was. I did not feel much pain aside from feeling pressure and slight (tolerable) discomfort around my chest.. for obvious reasons. I was able to get away with just taking Tylenol extra strength during the day, and just one tablet of the prescribed pain killer in the evening right before bed. I still kept an appetite, I was NOT bed ridden(I expected to be), and I honestly went on my day as thought I didn't have surgery! I was still active on social media and even went to the mall. My friends were shocked that I just had surgery a few days before haha.. I did have help from a family member so I did take it easy by restricting shoulder movements for 3 days, I didn't wash any dishes or do any chores, and honestly by the 3rd day, I was totally ready to lift my arms up without any discomfort whatsoever. I truly believe that this was because of Dr. Whidden's decades of experience, skills and technique! Upon doing my research on all the surgeons in Calgary, Alberta (and the surrounding areas around Calgary); Dr. Whidden's BA work stood out to me the most. The outcome of his patients breasts were beautiful!! I knew I wanted breasts just like that (or as close to that, as I understand that everyone's body is uniquely different). Even before setting up a consultation with Dr. Whidden, in my head, I believed he would be my surgeon. I have contemplated BA since I was in high school but the timing was never right.. and now I understand why that was! I was meant to move to Calgary (which I did last year) and find Dr. Whidden!! From start to finish, from my first interaction with Trista (she is the sweetest and most pleasant, ever!) to the nurses, anesthesiologist, Dr. Whidden, and front staff!! I can't rave enough. Everyone was so kind and made me feel comfortable every step of the way. I truly appreciate everyone and everything that was done for me, from the bottom of my heart. I have so many friends and family members that will be going to see them for their BA in the near future, because of my amazing experience. I would recommend Dr. Whidden and Macleod Trail Plastic Surgery over and over again!! I look forward to my upcoming post op appointments with their office and cannot wait until my implants settle in! Thank you again, Dr. Whidden. You are amazing at your craft!!
Hi everyone. :) Thought i'd do a review because it helped me a lot in my decisions. I hope this helps someone else. I saw Dr. Whidden in Calgary for my surgery. He's very confident and soft spoken at the same time. His positive feedback and experience is mainly what made me chose him. All of his staff are very profesional and the nurses are very kind. I was so scared to go in, but as soon as i went in i was capmed by the good energy this clinic holds. Anyway, the goodies! I've only just got them done today so ive not 'dropped and fluffed' yet ofcourse. But i am already so happy. I look proportionate and more womanly and its just what i wanted. They are round Allergen soft touch, under muscle. :) Pain is very minimal so far, mind you im on strong pain killers so id hope it wasnt bad haha! Just mostly a bit tight across my chest and i really cant do much by myself right now. Updated on 15 Jan 2021: I tried not taking some of those pain killers because they were making me soo tired and wobbly lol. I ended up feeling quite swore so ive started them again. Feeling pretty limited in what im comfortable doing, my husband has been helping me a lot. Oh and im soo bloated as you can see in the pictures. All in all its not as bad as i thought it would be, and im still very happy with my result, excited to see them drop and fluff! Updated on 17 Jan 2021: Still tightness especially in tge sides of my breasts under my armpits. But im not in nearly as much discomfort/pain as i was on day 2 or 3. I can see them starting to settle now, they are still high but starting to look a bit more round. Im so happy with them. They fit my body very well so far! Updated on 27 Jan 2021: 2 weeks since my surgery. I took the tapes off the incisions today and am happy with how they are looking. I was nervous to see them, but they really arent that bad. I have been getting acne on my breasts, i asked other women about this and apparently lots get this. Idk if its down to the meds or what. Someone suggested witch hazel so im going to try some of that, why not. The swelling is starting to go especually around my sternum and im really not in any pain anymore which is awesome. Theyve dropped a little bit but they are still quite high and definately firm as youd expect. Updated on 1 Feb 2021: I always loved finding reviews with squish vids! They were so helpful so thought i would share mine too. If it uploads! Up until now, about 2.5 weeks, they literally did not move, they went no where and felt like rocks. So its exciting that they are starting to squish a little now. Updated on 15 Feb 2021: Feeling great and so impressed with the progress. No complaints. Still have jot felt ready to return to work but my job is physical and i dont want to mess anything up. Ive been using silicone strips and silicone gel on my incisions, and that stuff works DO WELL. i cant believe how good they look for only a month out. It helps that my surgeon did nice cuts as well. Very pleased. They are surprisingly realistic to touch, they feel id say "youthfully firm" which i think is a good thing. I know they will soften more as time goes as well. Updated on 2 Mar 2021: Here is a before and after (7 weeks after) i did. So so pleased. I feel no pain anymore, the look and feel surprisingly natural, my scars are completely smooth and not really noticeable at all. I probably wont update again until 6 months post op. Hope this has helped another lady or two out. Updated on 7 Apr 2021: Not too much to say really, they are looking really good from the front view but id say looking from a side view that they are not fully settled yet (hopefully lol) because they still look slightly rounded or buldgy at the top. They are still firm. My hustbad doesnt think they look or feel fake so thats great, i can still tell though. I know it can take a year for everything to be complete. Updated on 7 Apr 2021: I wasnt going to do updates until 6months but i had a couple requests for another update so here it is! Some other things i didnt mention before: I have physical work and sometimes my chest will get a twinge of pain here and there while working, and at the end of the day sometimes my muscles can feel a little swore, like any other muscle may feel after a hard days work. My chest muscles get a little more tired than they did before now though. I think its mostly still adjusting to working hard with implants. Honestly though its not very bothersome at all. I never come home super swore chested, my legs get more achy than my chest still, by far. I usually wear a sports bra every day because its comfy. If im getting dresses up id maybe do a pushup bra. I dont wear bras to bed 90% of the time anymore, i have always slept naked so im insistant that i still do that, i like to feel free in bed lol. No problems sleeping either, i sleep on my sides and back, always have. I can lay on my stomach but i never liked to anyway so i dont. But letting the stomach sleepers know you would likely be fine to continue doing that(once healed). Ok thats all i got haha, i will respond to any questions on here or privately. Best of luck Updated on 29 Apr 2021: Just a quick update for pictures, and hopefully a video. Had other videos up but they got removed and no one told me why so hopefully i dont do it wrong again. They DO NOT move like real breasts as you can see, but they do move and they are squishy and nice. Updated on 6 Jun 2021: A quick couple of pictures as I'm nearing month 5! As you can see I gave them a little bedazzle and I just love them. The soften has not changed anymore yet and I think they still need to drop more, ugh it takes so long!! But I still am loving it. If anyone has input on how long yours finally finished settling do tell so I don't feel as bad about it please!! There is still a lot of volume on top and not too much fullness on the bottom. Maybe it's just my build and it won't change, I don't know. Updated on 13 Jan 2022: Today marks 1 year post. I tried to get some pictures up but it says they're too big, hopefully the video works anyway. Everything is good, as you can see the scars are nearly invisible now. I spoke to Dr. Whidden about the amount of volume on top vs the little amount beneath my nipples. It's due to my anatomy that they are like this, quite rounded on top(which is apparently what a lot of women are after but I guess I hoped for a more natural boob sag look) he suggested 2 things to help: wait longer and see if the implants sink down in the pocket more, or exchange implants with one's that are maybe 75cc smaller to eliminate the roundness on the top of my breasts. I'm going to try to wait it out, I seem to like them a little more as time goes by anyway. So that's it, I still recommend Dr. Whidden, very professional, good to talk to and he explains things well. Good luck and I hope my review helps others as many reviews on here helped me :) Updated on 13 Jan 2022: Oh hey, I got the pictures to work! Yay! Just need to edit them to make them smaller I guess. So as you can see i have the side profile that shows the roundness on the top that i was considering an exchange for. But there is still a chance the tissue under my nipples will stretch over time, and the impland will fill out more underneath and less above. I probably won't add anything else to this review now, but feel free to ask me anything via pm on here!
I am 40 years old, have 3 children (5,7,13) that I breastfeed. My weight have been fairly stable around 150 lbs. My breast size is 34 D/DD. I have always wanted smaller breasts. I have struggled to find workout bras that support me enough when I run. My bras dug into my shoulders. Dr. Whidden is very professionally and compassionate. His staff are all excellent. The procedure was very straightforward. I arrived at 7:15am and was ready to home at 1:15. He removed 100 cc of tissue from right breast and 60 cc from the left. The recovery has been uneventful, and I am on Tylenol for the pain just 2 days post op. I can’t wait to see the end result! But very happy so far. Updated on 2 Nov 2020: Bruising is now turning yellow. I had a small blister under a corner of the steri-strip. Seeing Dr Whidden tomorrow for a follow up. I am off all pain medications and feeling way better. The first three days I was very tired. Updated on 6 Jan 2021: Everything had gone very well. My 6 week post-op appointment was cancelled due to covid but I have had no issues. I’m back to my full workouts with no problems. I’ve been wearing silicone strips around the nipple and vertical scars. There is still some slight swelling around my nipples. Very happy so far!
For as long as I can remember I have wanted a breast aug. after having my son and nursing him for 18 months my little to no boobs I had before were even less! My experience with Dr. Whidden and ALL his staff was amazing. Had my consult on June 22nd and was lucky I got in so quick for surgery only a month later. Had surgery July 22 and am so happy I did! I am 27, mom of one, 5’2 and 118lbs. Went with 445 cc under the muscle SRX (extra high profile implant). I will continue to post about my journey as being on here helped me so much prior to mine! Updated on 24 Jul 2020: Here is my photos 2 days post op. Feeling pretty good overall but definitely very tight and sore. It’s basically as people describe and super heavy. Super happy I did it and can’t wait to see the progress! Updated on 26 Jul 2020: Well I’m officially at 4 days post op. First 3 days definitely were the worst I’m sure but still pretty sore today. Started getting some shooting pains and the bruising is something else. I’m really looking forward to a few weeks a or months from now when I can see the results! I am definitely struggling right now with how they look but still happy I did it. Just ready for the time to pass lol ! Updated on 17 Aug 2020: I can’t believe it’s been almost a month post op. Finally feeling so much better and starting to get used to my new look. Still doesn’t really feel like “my body” yet but loving it so far. Still pretty high and hard but they do move a bit and are definitely well on there way to getting settled! I don’t have my next post up until 9 weeks post but can’t wait to see how they are by then! Photos are from a couple days ago now but can really see the difference and change over the last 3.5 weeks.
I had my initial breast augmentation with Dr Whidden in 2015. I have been very happy with the results and went back to him recently for a nipple reduction earlier this month. The stitches are still in and am looking forward to having the results I wanted. Dr Whidden and his staff are by far the most professional and caring people I've encountered. I will recommend them to anyone.
I had my BA with Dr. Whidden in October 2018. I had an overall amazing experience with him and the clinic! One of my implants did not settle well into its pocket so Dr. Whidden recommended a capsular modification this month (November 2019). I could not be happier with the result. The size he recommended is perfect and the result is exactly what I wanted. Dr. Whidden is professional and kind, and the office staff is welcoming and helpful. Dr. Patel, the anesthesiologist is equally wonderful. Definitely would recommend this clinic to anyone considering a BA in Calgary!
I used many of your reviews on here to help me take the plunge so I figured I'd start my journey to help some of you. I'm a 28 year old mom of 2 breastfed kids. I was a C cup before kids, loved my breasts and now I'm left with a deflated A. I'm extremely active. I'm a personal trainer, I play hockey, I lift weights 4-5x a week and run regularly. I'm hoping getting my boobs done doesn't effect my fitness too much. Stats 5"4 and ~125 lbs Booking two consults for November. Hoping to get them done in January! Updated on 1 Oct 2019: Hoping to get some feedback from other fit ladies and their boobs. I want the implants under the muscle because they look much more natural and I don’t have much tissue to begin with to help cover the implant. With that being said I don’t know what I’d do if I could never do push ups, pull ups or any sort of pec exercise again? Some girls say that after awhile you get used to the feeling of the implants separating while contracting your pecs, some surgeons say to avoid pec exercises completely because it increases chance of rupture? Help me out fitness ladies! Updated on 26 Jan 2020: I’ve booked in with Dr Paul Whidden! I’m scheduled to have my BA Feb 20. I’m nervous as heck and could really use some post surgery tips! I’m definitely going to have some freezer meals prepped and ready to go. Some stool softener I heard is a must. They are giving me a surgical bra, should I get another one off amazon? If so which one? Any tips, pointers are much appreciated! My hubby is taking 3 days off work to assist and my kids will be at my parents for 2 nights. I hope by day 4 I’m okay with my almost 2 year old and 4 year old? Updated on 28 Jan 2020: First pic would be what 450 cc would look like, second pic is what 400 cc would look like. I’m leaning more towards the 400 but EVERYONE says they regret not going big enough. I’m super active and I don’t want big boobs in the way. This is the main reason I’m leaning towards 400. But a few people say the 450 match my hips better. I have a week to make a decision! Any input greatly appreciated! Updated on 10 Feb 2020: I’m less than 2 weeks away and I’m STILL debating size. Lots of you active ladies commented that I should go with the smaller size because of my lifestyle but everyone is saying always go bigger and trust your surgeon (he thinks both will look good obviously but likes the bigger). The stat is like 80-85% of women who got BA wish they went bigger. Pretty big numbers. Also I’m quite bottom heavy, I have a big bum and thighs. I think if I choose the smaller implant I will still be bottom heavy which I guess is okay. Anyways I talked to the office again and they said they’ll have both implants there the day of surgery so I don’t have to decide right away which is a relief cause I can’t decide lol. She told me it will be either 385 cc or 450 cc. their the SSF brand if that matters. My chest measures at 12.5 cm. I’m 5”3 maybe 5”4 on a good day and 120 lbs. But I don’t think I’m petite in the chest measurements? Uuuuggghhh so torn. Updated on 22 Feb 2020: The boobs came this morning. Im probably 7-8 hours post op. Feel fine. Not much pain just tightness. No nausea, no issues eating, drinking, feeling great really. Dr Whidden and his team were nothing short of AMAZING. I'm so happy with the whole experience. Dr Whidden took his time with me because I was still undecided on size, and we ended up meeting in the middle. I'm so happy I got that time with him. The nurse Karen was an angel. Honestly felt like I was at a spa, they took such good care of me. Highly highly recommend MacLeod Plastic Surgery. I ended up with 415 cc high profile. Inspira SSF. Currently don't have much to report. Limited ROM so my hubby has to help me with most things but glad I'm not in pain. They look pretty beautiful from the top view. I've decided not to peak at them till my first shower. I can tell their boxy lol Will update tomorrow as I'm sure pain will be present. Updated on 22 Feb 2020: I honestly haven’t had much pain. It’s been easier than I expected. I’ve been sleeping great. My parents took the kids for 3 nights. I don’t think this recovery would be as easy with my 1.5 year old running around, he’s such a mamas boy too. I’m a little nervous about picking them up tomorrow. Just trying to explain to them no big hugs, no jumping on mommy which they love to do lol. I do rely on my husband to help me get dressed, open pill containers, he even washed my hair! So I definitely feel limited but I’m not in much pain. It just feels tight in my chest. Just like when your breastmilk comes in the first time! So far I feel happy with the size but I know they’ll change A LOT over the next few weeks. Updated on 27 Feb 2020: 7 days post op and they are obviously still quite high. I feel like maybe their a little more round and less boxy looking? Or maybe I’m just convincing myself that lol This morning I woke up feeling pretty sore. I think it might be a hint that yesterday I did too much (I walked a lot, prepped dinner, my kids were all over me). It’s definitely a challenge with young kids around. Trying to explain to them gentle when they come sit on my lap, my youngest wants to be carried all the time, they don’t understand why I don’t feel up to playing... it weird how the first 3 days post op were a breeze and now it seems like I’m more achy. And I think it’s because I’m so much more busy with the kids. It’s not unbearable pain, just feels sore. I felt a little down today because I got ready to go to the store with my kids to grab groceries and then realized I can’t carry big jugs of milk and probably can’t drive yet either. I feel incompetent and I’m over it. Also feeling down from not being able to workout. I knew this would get to me after about a week. I’m going to begin incline walking on the treadmill as soon as the ache dies down a bit. Hopefully in a few days. Trying my best to listen to my body. I feel like the size might be a bit too big. I know I’m still pretty swollen and in a few weeks that’ll go away. If that’s the case then they’ll be perfect. Patience, patience! Updated on 1 Mar 2020: Feeling pretty good the last 2 days. Pain is almost completely gone. Tightness comes and goes but isn’t unbearable. Haven’t had to take any painkillers. Emotionally feeling better too. They don’t get in the way, I barely notice them lately. I’m feeling much better about the size too. I know their going to be perfect once they settle. All in all feeling super happy I decided to go through with this! Updated on 7 Mar 2020: I haven’t noticed too much change besides them feeling slightly softer. They definitely haven’t dropped anymore. My strips fell off and the incisions look way better than I expected them to. I’m not taking any pain meds. Sometimes I take a robax before bed just because I think it helps me sleep a bit better. I still can’t comfortably sleep on my side. I hate sleeping on my back lol. I started doing some light body weight exercises for my lower body and going for longer walks and it’s helped my mood tremendously. I think by next week I’ll be ready for a light jog. Updated on 7 Mar 2020: 16 days post op Updated on 10 Mar 2020: Day 2 post op versus day 19. You really don’t notice the changes because their so subtle everyday and it can be super discouraging. I highly recommend taking photos to track your progress. This blew me away today! I’ve rounded out A LOT and dropped a little! Yay! Little victories! Updated on 18 Mar 2020: I’m doing these reviews just for you ladies because I know how helpful they were to me. I don’t think they look much different from last week. They are still quite high but I still enjoy them. I can squish them together finally! That’s improvement. And they are starting to jiggle a little! But nipple definitely needs to lift a bit after the implant drops into its socket. I’m back to lifting heavy with my lower body. My strength is probably at 80%. I’m happy with that! I just get someone else to load the heavy 45 lb plates on for me... and then I go squat it lol. I’ve also been running every other day. On average 15 minutes or so. It feels good. Sometimes I feel a tightness in my chest at the end of my run. I’m not sure if I’m coming down with something or if it’s from the implants lol. I’m going to do arms probably next week but I’ll definitely wait 3 months before I attempt to target my chest again. I’m okay with that :) If your super active and scared to get them done because you’ll go crazy... honestly it’s not that bad. I took the first week off. Then went for long walks or incline walks week 2. And then week 3 I was doing lower body without any weights and ab workouts. So if that’s stopping you let me tell you if I survived... you’ll survive! any questions feel free to ask I’ll try to keep posting every week. Updated on 19 Apr 2020: Hey ladies! I know these reviews are helpful so here are some updated pics. I found the full body pics to be more helpful when I was in the researching stage. They are definitely softening up and bouncing when I run! I’m starting to love them more now that they look more natural. Another thing that amazes me is I fit into pretty much all my tops. So that’s just more reassurance that my boobs are not super large as I was an A cup. I haven’t gotten measured yet, I’m just wearing small sports bras and small bralettes fit perfect. I’m back to doing pretty much everything besides direct chest exercises, I did a few pull ups the other day and they felt a little strange but I was able to do 3, before boobs I could do about 7. Let me know if you have any questions. I’ll try to do updates every month. Updated on 11 May 2020: I can honestly say I love my boobs. They still need to soften up a bit but all in all they look good! The don’t get in the way and they bounce quite nicely. The only complaint I have is that I have a hard time doing pull ups still. It just feels sooo off. Push ups too, I do maybe 5 and then just get weirded out. But I do think each time I try it feels a tad better than the last. I’m hoping maybe by 6 months I’ll be doing pull ups regularity again. Updated on 21 May 2020: Wow I can’t believe it’s been 3 months since I’ve had this procedure! They are 100% apart of me now. I still don’t have as much feeling in my nipples as I did before so I hope that comes back eventually, also looking forward to them softening up just a little bit more. But to be able to not wear a bra and feel sexy again is pretty incredible not going to lie. Or even just how they look in a sports bra blows my mind sometimes. Super happy I went through with it after contemplating so long! Updated on 24 Sep 2020: I know these reviews helped me a lot so I hope this helps someone as well. 7 months post op! Time flew by. I don’t have any complaints, kinda boring really. They are definitely apart of me now, and don’t feel foreign at all. I’m doing all exercises I was doing before operation (I’m even bench pressing once in awhile and I’m still surprisingly strong, but not as strong as pre op). They bounce, I can squish them although I do hope they get a little more soft. They feel super squishy when you squeeze the bottom half of the breast but the top half is still hard. Not sure if this is normal or if it’ll soften more. I know a few of you asked me to take some pics dressed up... I will when that day comes lol. I live in sports bras and rarely go out as I work from home. I haven’t even been sized! Was planning on doing that soon. Will try to remember to post again after I do that :)
